Real talk this fascinated me since I have a sibling in the professional ballet world, so I went and asked "hey on a scale of 1-5 how bad/forbidden is this kind of romance?"
Quoting verbatim: "Incest (relationships between colleagues) in the ballet world is rampant," followed by "I've got some good stories"
Won't get into details but evidently there are fights over physical therapists between dancers...so yeah this book is hot garbage

Getting isekaiâd as Marinette would be the polar opposite to getting isekaiâd as Adrien bc no mater what she does the universe will bend over backwards so she fails and is punished bc of the stupid mistake and lesson quota
You. You bring up an intriguing possibility like. The universe is bound to get reset anyway so why shouldnât you do it yourself on your own terms. The narrative is gonna fuck u over anyway so one might as well go out in a blaze of glory.
Feel like we're overlooking a golden opportunity here. Sure, the universe is trying to force us to stick us in a crappy role where we're always "wrong" and "need to learn a lesson" with adults who do nothing and many a character with brainrot.
But, here me out: what if we just lean into it
If I'm always going to be "wrong", then my petty ass is going to return that exact same energy. I'm not going to be a role model. I'm not going to do what's good or expected. I am going to get this story done in the pettiest fashion while allowing the story to go along 'as intended'.
Chloe's putting gum on my seat and Adrien tries to take it off? No problem kiddo, I take the gum from him and grab Chloe by the ponytail, sticking it right in her precious hair.
Gabriel and his stupid, terrible father ass is terrorizing Paris? I'm going to Lucky Charm break into the Agreste Mansion and steal his shit. ALL of his shit. Hope you didn't enjoy having doorknobs YOU WANKER!
Lila is spouting her lies? "Yeah, I can confirm that she saved Jagged's cat, I was there as his official cat babysitter!" dares Lila to argue against me since I'm her alibi now
Chat Noir really wants to know my identity? "Sure, friend, let's do it in front of Master Fu. So that he knows too."
Bunnix annoyed that I'm not being "Marinette" correctly? Sure would be inconvenient if I happen to stop showing up to akuma attacks, since, ya know, I'm not doing it correctly.
...Also catch me doing the @zoe-oneesama method for every akuma that I feel no sympathy for. Mr. Animator absolutely gets his ass beat, as does Chloe, Lila, all the other dumb ones.
100% this, but also! Consider that, even for good writing, there can be interesting alternate scenarios! I read lots of Doctor Who fanfics that basically said "but what if" without tearing down the original stories/canon.
A "fix" can be an overhaul of a quilt or just a small patch. It can be a simple nod to "there's a small plothole, here's an explanation" or "I want to offer an alternative solution".
Whether to give characters a happy end or just to experiment with your writing, keep writing!
Bro letâs not with âshe can fix himâ, letâs go with âshe can help him work through some of his issues, get him a nice therapist, and then wave goodbye to go back to HER Adrien, leaving OG to continue his journey of self-betterment.
So for those of you who arenât new to my blog or fanfics, it should come as no surprise that I despise Lila Rossi from Miraculous Ladybug canon.
I despise her as a person. I despise her as a character. And I despise the very idea that she is in any way supposed to be a credible villain or that her choosing to be an antagonist is supposed to be anyoneâs fault but her own. She annoys me in every possible way except for the reasons canon would probably have intended.
But ultimately, if I had to explain my specific issues with her and her character, itâd boil down to four main things:
One, Lila is a plot device.
From the moment she first appears in the story and well into any of her subsequent appearances, Lilaâs purpose is to further a plot.
Not THE plot, mind you. Not the central story of the entire series about a supervillain attacking the city which has been dragged out for five seasons now or even the B plot of the love square that is so far removed from a slow burn by this point that the candle has long been extinguished from lack of oxygen.
No, itâs just A plot. And not even a good one. Outside of that specific plot of the day, Lila doesnât really do anything, even when she arguably should be given the character that canon has presented her as.
And canon proves this is the case because Lila almost literally disappeared off the face of the earth with no explanation for nearly the entirety of season 2 until the finale when they suddenly need her again and say âoh yeah, by the way, she was just hiding out at home the whole time until Hawk Moth was ready to start this specific plan that is reliant on her to be thereâ. Sure, Gabriel has no way of knowing that Lila would even still be in Paris at that time, but that's the nature of a plot device in that it just works.
Lila appears. She manipulates and it works out. Then once her scheme is completed, she disappears into the ether again with little to no follow up or mention of her in the meantime.
Lila is a plot device and only exists as the plot demands. Which is even more problematic because of the next point.
Two, there is nothing that Lila does that couldnât have been accomplished by an already established character.
Lila is supposed to be another rival over Adrien and another antagonist character for Marinette on both sides of the mask, which should be fine and even expected in a story.
The problem with that is that Marinette already HAS a rival and antagonist in Chloe, who seems to have everything needed to be a better antagonist. She has the power of wealth and nepotism to use against anyone she doesnât like and to protect herself from consequences. Even better, she has a direct connection to the male lead that can at least give cause for her to appear to have a chance as a romantic rival as well as a reason for the female lead to not act against her if it would risk upsetting him. In addition, fans have been pegging her as a helper to Hawk Moth since season one, which would have been a potential route for her characterâand what ended up happening ANYWAY given the events of Miracle Queen and season 4.
So why even have Lila then? There is nothing Lila brings to the table that is new or unique. She does nothing that couldnât be accomplished by already existing characters who could fill whatever role sheâs supposed to serve and they could do it WITHOUT the plot having to literally turn on its head to make thing work out.
Sheâs basically like Chloeâthereâs no other way to put it. She is a sneakier and less obviously evil Chloe. They both are antagonistic towards the female lead while crushing on the male lead. They both do bad things and get away with it. They both act incredibly juvenile in their expectations and show no real understanding of either accountability or cause and effect. And they both agree to help the big bad just to get back at Ladybug for not letting them have something they feel entitled to with no real concern as to the fallout that would occur even if it should directly affect them.
The only difference is that Chloe at least has an in-universe reason for why she is never stopped. A frustrating reason, mind you, but still A reason.
Chloe gets away with things because sheâs rich and her father is the guy running the city. Horrible? Yes. True to life? Arguably. But itâs something confirmed in canon and something we as the audience can see and understand the reason behind.
Lila doesnât have that. What does she have then? Well, not much, actually.
Three, Lilaâs actions are not intelligent or reasonable.
This one is especially important because canon has been trying to paint it that Lila is some sort of mastermind and supposed to be a credible threat.
But as the writers donât seem to understand âshow, donât tellâ, Lilaâs actions donât really fit with that narrative. She either does things that a master manipulator wouldnât do, or doesnât take the obvious actions that one would.
A lot of her actions are poorly thought out:
Claiming to be the best friend of a superhero she know exists to someone she should know follows the exploits of and has had interviews with said hero, and just assumes that the claim will never be brought up if the two should meet again.
Claiming on a major news source to be the best friend of a superhero who is constantly under attack and may thus make Lila a potential target of anyone seeking to harm said hero.
Stealing what is clearly a very old possibly one of a kind book and going so far as to throw it away and just assume that the owner wonât notice or care that itâs missing.
NOT accepting Ladybugâs offer of friendship when the hero is clearly feeling guilty and would put Lila in a prime position to manipulate said hero out of that guilt and make at least one of her lies true.
And thatâs just in Volpina. After that, Lila hid away at home for months on end just to sulk in her room over being caught. Which is really pathetic in and of itself, especially when there was no valid in character reason for her to do that instead of anything else, like maybe trying to do damage control.
Letâs remember that only two people knew Lila was lyingâthe hero she lied about and the crush the hero outted her in front of. Since Lila was clearly still in contact with the classmates during her self-imposed exile, she would have to have known that nobody else was aware of her lies, meaning those two people never told anyone about what she had been doing. Everyone else still believed her.
And of the two who knew, one apologized to LILA after Lila had selfishly lied about and insulted her while the other was still clearly trying to be on good terms with her even if he was disappointed in her for lying. Adrien actually offered to be her friend and only asked her to stop lying.
And Lila doesnât use that to her advantage. A truly good manipulator can manipulate someone even if that person knows sheâs a manipulator. She could have just accepted Adrienâs offer and it would have been a relatively small loss on her part in comparison to what she would have gained. She could have spun a sob story about why she lies and make herself look sympathetic to him so he would more willingly support herâand give her more of a chance to win him over because he would believe that they have a connection that way.
Instead, the master manipulator that Lila supposedly is chose to double down on her earlier lies and pout about how Ladybug is the liar even when itâs obvious that Ladybug wasnât and even more obvious that Adrien wouldnât believe her. Before stealing an akuma for herself and using it to frame ADRIEN for nicely asking her to stop lying to him instead of trying to frame Ladybug to him to give her lies more credence.
So each of Lilaâs choices donât make sense with the character that we are told Lila is supposed to be.
If Iâm being charitable, I would say she just isnât a master manipulator.
If Iâm being blunt, I would say sheâs stupid.
Now, it could be argued that sheâs a teenager and doesnât think things through, except that none of this is ever acknowledged as a mistake by either Lila herself or the narrative.
Lila keeps letting her emotions cloud her judgement. Which is interesting because Marinette is noted to have that as her main character flaw. Except for Marinette, this is actually portrayed as a flaw and something she has to correct and make up for while for Lila, it just somehow always works out in her favor.
Which leads to my next pointâŚ
Four, Lila is overly reliant on the plot to function as an antagonist.
If we're looking at things objectively, Lila isnât smart and her plans arenât that great. Whatever she schemes only seems to work because the plot requires them to rather than because of any real capability on Lilaâs part. It becomes increasingly evident that Lila gets away with things because apparently plot demands that no one is allowed to so much as doubt what she says. They are forced to blindly believe her and follow whatever trail she wants them to, even when they arguably shouldnât. So no one is able to figure out that sheâs a liar aside from the female lead sheâs a rival to and the big bad, and the latter of the two has reason to not do something about the giant red flag Lila presents.
This ultimately does less to show how clever Lila is and more to further emphasize the major problem of the series itself that too much of the show is reliant on nobody but Marinette doing anything. Lilaâs character especially highlights that issue in that people who SHOULD have noticed Lilaâs blatant lies or SHOULD have reason to respond in some way to her actionsâŚdonât. And even in the relatively rare instance when they do, nothing comes of it.
We clearly see Damocles trying and failing to reach Lilaâs mom about her unexplained extended absence in the Heroes Day finale, but this is never brought up again when she returns. Damocles himself seems to forget about it when he reappears to interact with Lila in the âLadybugâ episode. It also shows a giant disconnect between the Principal and the teachers in that we clearly see Bustier setting up a video call with Lilaâso apparently Damocles isnât aware that Bustier has direct contact with Lila and may know why sheâs supposedly missing school and Bustier isnât aware that Lila has been skipping school and that the administration hasnât been able to make contact with her studentâs family? Maybe Lila is âjust that goodâ, but that speaks more of a level of ineptness in the school that we as the audience arenât supposed to be seeing.
Most of Lilaâs plots work out this way. She can outright manipulate people and have evidence of that manipulation be present for all to see, but nobody reacts. We donât see Nino respond to the mass text of that picture Lila took of herself kissing Adrien after she told Nino she wasnât interested in him. We donât see Alya at any point connect the dots that if Marinette is Ladybug, then Lila would have to have been lying. They just seem to forget the clearly suspicious things theyâve witnessed and immediately jump to defend Lila as the plot requires. This makes no sense for these characters and it makes no sense for the plot.
As such, given the combination of these issues, I dislike Lila in Miraculous Ladybug not because sheâs âevilâ, but because she acts stupidly and is entirely reliant on plot armor. Itâs even worse that the narrative is trying to TELL me that she is smart and an evil mastermind when itâs only SHOWING me otherwise. And the biggest problem is that for all her obvious objective failings, she doesnât actually face any real loss because the narrative bends over backwards to ensure she somehow attains victory in any episode she appears.
As it stands, I would say that Lilaâs only real ability is her apparent power to dumb down anyone she comes in contact with if the show didnât already do that without her.
if you told me Lila was a sentimonster whose magical ability was to make everyone believe her lies, Iâd 100% believe you. In spite of her appearing BEFORE the peacock miraculous is used because thatâs ONE plothole instead of several dozens.
âŚSomeone make a fic about this if it hasnât been done already, THIS SOLVES SO MANY PROBLEMS

my desire to keep things a surprise until the end vs my knowledge that the world can light on fire any minute and to spoil the main ending of the feral au bc knowing an ending doesnât make it less satisfying vs wanting to let ppl draw their own conclusions for fun
im gonna make a compromise to myself, once Iâve finished up this chapter Iâll post the (spoiler-y) animatic I made for fun and then move onto the next chapter
It seems I missed the zombiezou salt train but I feel like no one brought up a VERY important point. Marinette saw the Akuma go into the lipstick. She knew exactly where it was and had a free moment to grab and break it immediately before anything happened.
But no. She didn't. Because that would have been the smart thing to do.
If multiple people are touching the akuma, they become akumatized too, I think.
Yâall in the notes make good points: the point being this show is so inconsistent and weird that Iâd consider an akuma object as dangerous as an akuma and Iâd avoid it like a ticking time bomb if I saw it dropped in front of me while someone was in the process of being akumatized.
Ya know, the only time Marinette grabs an akumaâs item is in Evillustrator. And she knew Chat was there, backing her up, just in case things went sideways. The akumatization had also been going on for a while, so no chance of getting akumatized. So I canât fault Marinette for not jumping into the fray without backup! Not to mention the shock of âoh no not another one!â
The ending to Miracle Queen was just like in Backwarder when Marianne told Hawk Moth that she knew the Guardian. One measly mistake Marinette made ends up erupting in her face(and ONLY her face) because the universe won't stop spewing all over her with it's flowery bearded mouth(woah, wonder where that came from), she has no one to turn to, no one to ask for help, nowhere to go. Honestly it makes me just wish that Luka Knows was canon. Take some weight off her shoulders, and let her breathe!!!!!
Also the fact that youâd think Ladybug wouldâve pulled out the correct letter because her yoyo is freaking magic so youâd hope itâd give her what she needed and how all the letters conveniently looked the exact same.
Itâs just too much. Regardless of how much Marinette screws up, the punishment is often way worse than what she did to âdeserveâ it.
âOh, you tried to let Kagami and Adrien be together because you felt it was the right thing to do? Great! ...Oh, wait, you got thrown off because you needed time to heal at seeing them together? Well, now Fu got captured by Hawk Moth, Hawk Moth has the Miracle Box, and Mayura has the translated grimoire! See what you did??â
Yâknow how Iâve been saying for ages that Luka being two years older than Juleka has never been mentioned in canon? And how it was only briefly mentioned years ago in a tweet that has since been deleted?
miraculousladybug.com (Official Miraculous Ladybug website) lists Luka as Julekaâs twin.
Of course I get that nothingâs canon until itâs explicitly stated in the show, but to be clear, Lukaâs age was never confirmed in the show itself. This is the closest thing to official we have and I would expect that if itâs mentioned now, it will be mentioned in season 4.
ok, now this is one thing, but... have we all been spelling Luka and Jelukaâs last name wrong? Like, since when was it Couphène? Unless the wiki and everything is wrong, I thought it was Couffaine? Am I imagining stuff? Please help.

The usual salt fic storyline of Marinette holding back her feeling son how she is being treated but. Lila was ordered by hawk moth to get Marinette Akumatized, hawk moth clearly thinks he will have a mroe powerful akuma than style queen with how much negative feelings marinette had been holding back, Lila actually goes as far as physically assault marinette and locking her in a closet at school deciding that once the marinette akuma has the miraculous then hawk moth will reward ehr and she can take care of marinette later.
she even manages to fake hurtful horrible texts from her friends to finally break her: she finally does at rage directed at lila
but it all backfired horribly on both Lila and Gabriel when a red light gets to marinette before an akuma can
âmarinette dupain-cheng of sector 2814, you have great rage in your heart: welcome to the red lantern corpsâ
Marinettes parents died in an arson that lila caused 3 days before, and everyone (excluding adrien, chloe, jukela, and Nathaniel) says horrible things about her family.
âŚShould I mention that a Red Lanturn Ring is the worst thing she could have attached to her?
Like, it drives you into a murderous rage (already bad enough), but it literally cannot be removed without killing the host.
When you put it on, it forces you to cough up of your blood, then replaces it with a highly acidic substance. The ring is the only thing keeping Red Lanterns alive. If removed, you would succumb to the effects of blood loss. If the ring lets you remove it at all (all Lantern rings have a degree of sentience). ďżź
Because I canât leave well enough alone, hereâs a quick drabble I wrote up in about five minutes! Open to continuation, but hereâs what Iâve got so far:
"Marinette Dupain-Cheng of sector 2814, you have great rage in your heart..."
Marinette froze, ceasing her struggle to break down the janitor door. Her fists slowly uncurled, laying flat on the door.
"No!" Tikki slipped out of her purse and placed her paws on Marinette's face, shaking her tiny head furiously. "Say no, Marinette! Please!"
A red ring appeared near Marinette's hand and slowly began to approach her ring finger, causing Tikki to panic further.
"Please, Marinette! You can't go back! I can't lose you too!" Images of her prior chosen, overcome with rigeous fury haunted the tiny kwami as Tikki tried to pull Marinette's hand away from the ring. "Think of Chat! Think of Adrien! Think of,"
"They're dead, Tikki." Marinette's voice was cold, her eyes downcast. "Maman... Papa... and they won't let them rest..." Without an another word, Marinette slid the ring onto her finger.
"No-"
"Welcome to the red lantern corps," The voice whispered, as blood pooled in Marinette's throat, forcing her to cough and spit it out as the ring began to pulse.
Eyes glowing a soft red, Marinette's fist clenched as the red lantern suit morphed onto her body. "Time to get to work..."
Fair warning: There are some dark and potentially triggering things discussed. Assault, domestic violence, drug use, overdose, and attempted murder are implied if not outright mentioned.
âToday, class, Iâve asked a special guest to come speak to you!â Bustier greeted them all with a smile. She gestured to the woman next to her, a young adult they hadnât seen before. She seemed a bit nervous awkward, but was dressed professionally and tried to appear confident.
Bustier clasped her hands together.
âVivienne is a former student of mine from a few years back. She going to talk to us about positive examples and appropriate behavior in the classroom.â
Marinette slumped in her seat, already knowing what this was about and just whom this lecture was meant for. Bustierâs frequent looks at Marinette werenât even necessary. The fact that several of the other students shot glances back to her made it clear they knew as well.
Apparently Bustierâs lectures to Marinette about the high road and helping her classmates werenât enough anymore. Now it just felt like she was making a spectacle to prove a point.
So, Iâve been constantly wondering, what would happen if, in salt, the class ended up being physically abusive to Marinette? Shoving down stairs, hitting, etc., culminating in destroying her sketchbook to âteach her a lessonâ? And would anyone notice?
This is what happens when I create a school nurse WITH A PAIR OF EYES.
Being a school nurse was not what Elise Breaux had imagined being as a small girl. She hadnât really known what she wanted to be until lycĂŠe, when she realized that, above everything else, she wanted to help people. She loved children and wanted to help them, but knew teaching simply wasnât for her (she was a bright student but could never imagine keeping a classroom in focus for an hour at a time). So, she devoted herself to a medical program and decided to become the next best thing: a school nurse. She would help their injuries, their headaches, their allergies, so that the students could focus on their education.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng was a case she never thought she would need to deal with, if only because it worked day after day to chip away at her faith in the youth. Day after day, the young woman would come in with injuries, some drastically worse than others. At first, it was just bruising on her arms and legs, and Marinette insisted she was just very clumsy. And at first, Madame Breaux believed her.
But that became much, much harder when Marinette kept coming in, now with cuts on her face. The claims of tripping simply didnât match the injuries, and Madame Breaux became more and more concerned. The tipping point? Marinette came in with a cut on her head; by some miracle it wasnât too deep, but it was bleeding quite badly. The young student frantically tried to claim she simply hit her head when she tripped down the stairs, but Madame Breauxâs medical education alerted her that this was simply impossible for the location. It took time, coaxing, and promising to listen for Marinette to admit to the actual cause: one of her classmates had pushed her into a desk and she had received the cut from the corner as she stumbled.
One admission turned to several as Marinette tearfully admitted that most (if not all, the school nurse mused) of the injuries were from classmates. The girl insisted they werenât bullying her, that it was just a misunderstanding and tried to hold her head high, but Madame Breaux wasnât buying it. At that point, the school nurse became documenting the injuries with photos alongside her normal records, insisting that a detailed record needed to be kept, which Marinette tentatively agreed to. It, sadly, became a routine: around lunchtime Marinette would come in with her newest injuries, Madame Breaux would bandage cuts, apply ointments, and give her a slip for her parents requesting pain medication from home.
Elise was no fool; despite only being twenty eight years of age, she knew that something had to be done. Her first attempt involved meeting with Caline Bustier. Sheâd heard from other students how nice the teacher was and was hopeful that as soon as she expressed her concerns, Caline would jump to solve the problem. Imagine her shock when Caline immediately blew off her concerns, insisting that Marinette was the problem! Marinette needed to be a roll model, she claimed, and Marie was astonished by Calineâs final remark.
âHonestly, Elise, I think that youâre coddling Marinette too much. She needs to realize that other people have feelings too.â
Suffice to say, Elise did not bother going to Madame Bustier after that, if only because her blood boiled, and she couldnât guarantee not strangling the woman. Her next step was another teacher who taught Marinette, Madame Mendeleiev. Said teacher was much more sympathetic to Eliseâs concerns, agreeing that Marinette had been much more quiet as of late, and though she had not seen any bullying, she had noticed the glares Marinette received from classmates.
âElise, if I could, I would march up to Monsieur Damocles this instant. Unfortunately, the proper channels dictate that, as Marinetteâs primary teacher, Caline Bustier is who must report it. Moreover, I know for a fact that Caline has been insisting that her class is fine and has told Monsieur Damocles that Marinette is causing issues.â
So, Madame Breaux kept helping Marinette, even allowing her to spend free periods in her office to rest. She kept taking photos, writing notes to excuse Marinetteâs tardiness, and began building a case to bring to Monsieur Damocles or, if necessary, the school board at the current rate. In fact, she was nearly complete with her report when there was a knock on her door one early Wednesday morning.
âYes? Come in,â Madame Breaux remarked absentmindedly, turning to the door only to gasp in horror. Madame Mendeleiev was supporting a sobbing Marinette, whose bruised arms were clasped around torn papers and whose head was sporting a gash that looked deep. âMon Dieu! Come in, quickly!â
Marinette slowly sat on one of the beds and Madame Breaux rushed to lock the door. Madame Mendeleiev made no move to stop her, simply sitting beside Marinette and rubbing her back. In all the world, Elise never would have imagined it being such a strict teacher to calm Marinette, but she didnât complain. âMademoiselle Dupain-Cheng was in my classroom, and I came in to find her on the floor, torn sketchbook in hand. The other students insist they saw nothing,â Madame Mendeleiev snarled.
Madame Breaux quickly grabbed ointments and bandages and examined the cut on Marinetteâs head. By some miracle it was much more shallow than she expected, and she quickly gave Mendeleiev a cloth to hold against the injury. âMarinette?â Madame Breaux asked, kneeling before the girl. Her only response was a sniffle. âMarinette, I need to look at your arms. I can get a tray for your papers; would that be alright?â
Wordlessly Marinette opened her arms, and Madame Breaux quickly compiled the papers and carefully placed them in a tray, which she put in her desk for safekeeping. Plenty of ointment and some kind words later, Marinette was no longer sobbing, just downcast. After instructing Marinette to keep pressure on her head, Madame Mendeleiev stood. âI need to get back to the class⌠could you take care of this?â
âIt will be solved by the end of the day,â Madame Breaux hissed.
Nodding, Madame Mendeleiev left, and Madame Breaux locked the door behind her and grabbed her tablet. âMarinette? I need to document this, is that alright?â
âYes,â Marinette whispered. The bleeding had, mercifully, stopped after ten minutes, so Elise took pictures of that as well.
âStay here, Iâll get you some ice. You will not leave this bed until I say so, understood?â
âYes, Madame Breaux.â
Closing the small curtain on her office door, Elise sat down at her desk, stewing. Enough was enough: her report was nearly complete, and the photos should be more than enough. She grabbed her office phone and, looking up the Dupain-Cheng residence, she called.
âMadame Dupain-Cheng? Yes, this is the school nurse. Iâm calling because you daughter is in my office⌠No, sheâs not in any trouble! Why would you⌠I see. No, Iâm calling because sheâs hurt and Iâm recommending she stay home for the rest of the day. I also have some photos and information you need to see⌠sheâs currently resting, Madame. Iâd also like to discuss some concerns I have about bullying⌠No, Madame, Iâm worried Marinette is being bullied⌠Yes, I know about Caline Bustierâs thoughts, but I think you need to see this⌠Alright, thank you.â She forcefully hung up, grinding her teeth at the knowledge that Caline had nearly managed to turn Marinetteâs own parents against her. After taking a few deep breaths, Madame Breaux picked up the phone again.
âMonsieur Damocles? This is Elise Breaux⌠Yes, Iâm calling to report bullying of one Miss Dupain-Cheng⌠I have told Madame Bustier, Monsieur Damocles, and she has refused to listen⌠I know about her claims, but I have photographic evidence and a report ready to go to the school board⌠Well, Monsieur Damocles, I understand your concerns about the school board, if you could meet with me after the day has ended, I can show you what I have⌠Merci.â
A half hour later, Madame Dupain-Cheng arrived, and was quite shocked to see her daughter in such a state. Madame Breaux handed her a flash drive, containing all the details and photos of the injuries, and Madame Dupain-Cheng immediately thanked Madame Breaux, with a promise to keep in touch. Once Marinette was safely off the school grounds, Madame Breaux began to stew once more.
She had always wanted to help people. Sheâd promised herself she would always keep an eye out for those in need. Well, today she was going to keep her promise, no matter who stood in her way.
Okay, so due to gaining followers and getting a shout-out from an author I really like reading (please give us more Missing, Felix Culpa, and Hivemind! Iâll wait forever! I understand it takes time! But I neeeeeeeeed more!), Iâve decided that, while I wonât be continuing that scenario, this one does involve some Lila bashing and Madame Bustier salt, with the class no longer being sheep.
In this case, I decided, what would happen if Elise first became the nurse AFTER Lila came back? Well...
âWelcome to François-Dupont, Madame Breaux,â Monsieur Damocles smiled. âThank you so much for applying on such short notice.â
âItâs not problem at all, Monsieur,â Elise insisted. âIâve been looking for a position since finishing my degree and helping young students has been my goal since lycĂŠe. Has the previous school nurse left the physical records in her office?â
âOf course, are you concerned about record keeping? We can move everything to digital if you wish.â
âNon non, I prefer physical and digital. I was always taught to keep meticulous records, and I just want to make note of everything so that once next year starts, Iâll have a better idea of everything I need.â Madame Breaux promptly shook Monsieur Damoclesâ hand and headed off to her new office, head held high and key in hand. Her nurseâs station was clean and well-kept; clearly her predecessor had made sure the move would be as smooth as possible.
And yet, she had hardly moved her things in (laptop, tablet, keys, notepads and pens) when the phone rang. âAllĂ´? Ah, Monsieur Damocles, yes, the office is very nice. Thank you... Oh, yes, Iâm about to look into the records... A student? Of course, Iâll make sure to add a note about her illness to the file... Excuse me? Hallucinations?... No, Monsieur Damocles, Iâm just shocked. Iâll make sure to have her medication on file... She has no medication? But if she is experiencing hallucinations... I see, Iâll contact her homeroom teacher... Caline Bustier, alright, Iâll call her now.â Elise hung up the phone and sighed. Sheâd never expected such a serious condition, especially one that was apparently undocumented until now, but she would make it a priority. It was still around an hour before school, so she grabbed her keys and hurried to the teacherâs lounge.
âMadame Bustier?â Elise called into the lounge. Immediately a young woman, slightly older than Elise, stood.
âYes, you must be the new school nurse. Call me Caline, can I help you?â
âIâm concerned about one of your students, Caline, one Mademoiselle Lila Rossi? Iâm going through the records and Monsieur Damocles mentioned she has a medical condition that involves hallucinations? I just wanted to ask what kind of accommodations she needs...â
âOh, you neednât worry, my students are helping her!â Caline smiled. âTheyâre such good kids, considering Mademoiselle Rossiâs several conditions, not to mention her global obligationsâ
âGlobal obligations?â Elise asked, stunned. âI thought she was a collĂŠgienne...â
âOh yes, she travels with her mother around the world and helps with charities! She seems to suffer from arthritis and a bad wrist as well, but she doesnât let that stop her!â Caline beamed, seemingly unaware (or not caring) as the other teachers rolled their eyes, with one purple haired teacher snorting into her coffee.
âI... see... Madame, could you write down everywhere sheâs been and her conditions? I need to prioritize her folder. Even if sheâs doing alright, I must be sure that the school is still providing the necessary accommodations and medications.â
Dutifully Madame Bustier wrote down the countries and injuries related to Lila Rossi, and Elise found herself walking back in a daze to her office, plopping down into her chair. After a moment, she collected herself and opened the large filing cabinet. âRolland... Romain... Rondeau... Rosselle... Rossi!â She grabbed the file, already concerned with how thin it was and opened it.
Nothing. Nothing but the bare bones papers. A signed form about necessary vaccinations (only for someone staying in Continental Europe, not South America or Africa!), another form stating no allergies or conditions, a waiver stating what medication Mademoiselle Rossi was allowed to accept from the nurse (minor pain medication), and emergency contact information.
Even without exact knowledge about what was missing, Eliseâs head began whirling. Was her mother not providing medical forms? Monsieur Damocles had mentioned that he found it near impossible to contact Madame Rossi. But still... something nagged at the back of Eliseâs mind... the way the other teachers had been acting nagged at her. Without another thought, she pulled up the student records on her screen. Perhaps the medical forms were digitally stored? But the screen only mentioned the four documents in the folder. Frustrated, Elise spied the phone number on the emergency contact form. Gina Rossi, her mother. Well, Elise was certainly going to give the woman a piece of her mind.
Grabbing her desk phone, she quickly entered the number and waited as it continued to ring, seemingly forever, before someone answered. âYes, this is François-Dupont, Iâm the school nurse, Madame Elise Breaux. Could I speak with Madame Gina Rossi?... Oh, itâs fine, I can wait a few minutes... Thank you.â
A few minutes later, âAllĂ´? This is Gina Rossi; how can I help you Madame...â
âMadame Breaux. Iâm the school nurse for François-Dupont, as I told your secretary... Iâm concerned about your daughter and the lack of medical records. Iâd heard from her teacher that she suffers from several conditions, including arthritis and hallucinations-â
âIs this a joke?â Madame Rossi snorted. âI know my daughter, and she is perfectly healthy.â
âNon, Madame, I apologize,â Elise said quickly. âItâs just that this is my first day and I was going through student records, to get an idea of where everything is. The principal, Monsieur Damocles, wanted me to add a note about your daughter. Apparently, she told him that she suffers from hallucinations, since that got another student in trouble, and her teacher, Caline Bustier, explained that sheâs had a difficult time from conditions and continuous global travel-â
âWHAT?â Elise winced as Madame Rossi shouted into her ear. Grimacing, she put the phone back to her ear in time to hear the other woman mutter. âCould you please explain what is going on here? What travel?â
âErm...â Elise looked over her notes, âAccording to Madame Bustier, she has been excused from school due to travel from her absence nine months prior to... about five weeks ago?â
âYou must be mistaken; the school was closed during that time! Lila told me that due to akuma attacks that the school was closed! That the principal was akumatized!â Gina insisted, her voice growing desperate.
âMadame, Iâm very sorry, but school policy across Paris is such that, during akumas, all schools remain in session unless they are the epicenter of attacks to ensure that all students are accounted for and not traveling during an attack. Moreover, youâre correct, Monsieur Damocles was, at one point, akumatized, but he has been fine since.â Elise paused, but the lack of response led her to continue. âMadame, I did not intend for this to shock you so. My intent was to discuss her vaccinations and accommodations, as I wanted to make sure your daughter had everything she needed.â
â...Is everything youâve said true?â Madame Rossi whispered. â...Should I come to the school?â
âOui, Madame, I would recommend doing so. If possible, Iâd like to meet with you, with Monsieur Damocles to determine what has been going on. This... could be quite serious, and I will make sure to inform the principal about what has been going on.â
âAlright... Iâll excuse myself from my office and be there in an hour. Thank you so much for informing me about this,â Madame Rossi said heavily before hanging up.
Still shocked at the conversation sheâd just had, Elise leaned back into her chair, rubbing her temple and contemplating grabbing a second coffee from the teacherâs lounge. Taking in a deep breath, she reached for the desk phone again, this time calling her boss. âMonsieur Damocles? About that note for Mademoiselle Rossi... Yes, there is something wrong. I spoke with her teacher, Madame Bustier, and was concerned about her traveling and her conditions, so I contacted Mademoiselle Rossiâs mother... Non, she picked up immediately when I called her... There was no trouble at all!... Well, sheâs coming in an hour and I was hoping to meet with both you and she about her daughter, try to iron out the details... Monsieur Damocles, her mother was under the impression that the school has been closed for months, and she was shocked at the idea that they had been traveling. I have the dates as well as the conditions Mademoiselle Rossi has claimed, and Iâll ask Caline if thereâs anything Iâm missing... Of course, thank you. Iâll be in your office in an hour.â
Elise carefully hung up, looking at her notes and the thin medical file before sighing. She was DEFINITELY going to need a second coffee.
...
Lila was relaxing at her desk, gently caressing Adrienâs arm with a smirk. Sheâd managed to get Marinette in trouble with Madame Bustier (easily done, the idiot teacher was a sap for teary eyes and a reminder of her âconditionâ), so Marinette was in the back, again. The class had even glared at the goody two shoes again, and despite Adrien trying to wiggle away, her clout with Gabriel kept him right where he was. She might have not been able to expel Marinette but seeing her suffer was fine. She was content, at least for now-
âLILA ROSA ROSSI!â A booming voice from the hallway filled the room as her mother stormed in, completely red in the face. Lila sprung up and away from Adrien, her face starting to pale.
âMaman, what, what are you doing here? Is something,â Lila began, hoping to usher her mother out of the room.
âYou are in so much trouble!â Her mother interrupted, with Monsieur Damocles and a woman entering behind Madame Rossi. âMonths now, MONTHS you lied! To me! To the school! To everyone!â
On cue, Lila burst into crocodile tears, âOh Maman, did Marinette tell you something? Sheâs been,â
âHush, now!â Her mother hissed, and for the first time in months, Lila shut her mouth. âMarinette, you say? The young woman whom you got EXPELLED because you lied about her? And who could only come back because you lied, AGAIN, about hallucinating? Because it sounds more like sheâs the victim here!â
âW-what are you talking about?â Lila laughed nervously, âI-I donât lie-â
âNo, you do! You lied to me, saying the school was closed so you could stay at home doing nothing! You lied to your teacher, your classmates, everyone that you were traveling when we were here in Paris! Do you understand that, if that had gotten back to the embassy, if my boss thought Iâd been traveling when I was supposed to be working here, Iâd be FIRED?â Madame Rossi breathed in heavily before turning to Monsieur Damocles. âI am so sorry for Lilaâs behavior, and I will fully comply with any punishment necessary.â
âMaman, you donât mean that!â Lila cried, with actual tears starting to form as her classmates started exchanging horrified looks.
âI do, Lila,â Madame Rossi said sternly.
After a tense moment of silence, Rose shakenly raised her hand. âMadame Rossi? Does... does this mean Lila hasnât met Prince Ali?â
âI-â Lila begun, only to have her mother interrupt her with a sigh.
âNon, Lila has not. She has been to different European countries due to my work, but we only move every few years so that Lila can get a proper education. That was what Gregorio and I agreed to when we married, because we wanted our children to have a stable childhood despite our jobs.â
âWhat about saving Jagged Stoneâs cat?â Kim asked, worried.
âA cat? Lila, what have you been spouting, you donât even like Jagged Stone, you insist that you prefer XY!â Her mother scolded as Lila begun to sink into her chair. âMoreover, I would like to inform all of you that she suffers from absolutely no medical conditions, arthritis or otherwise. And she CERTAINLY does not have a disease that causes her to lie.â
âWe carried your books for you!â Alix hissed as Lila tried to babble.
âThere seems to be a 95% chance that you lied about the napkin incident,â Max remarked quietly.
âSo, you didnât need us to pick tomatoes off your food?â Mylène cried.
âMy blog! Youâre still Ladybugâs best friend, right?â Alya insisted only for Madame Rossi to give her a quizzical look.
âLila, you kept blaming Ladybug for the school being closed, I thought you hated the young super heroine!â Madame Rossi remarked, causing everyone to gasp.
Just when it seemed chaos would break out, the woman next to Monsieur Damocles clapped her hands. âExcuse me! I understand that quite a bit has been exposed and that youâre all frustrated,â The woman began. âHowever, right now is a school day, and the purpose of myself, Monsieur Damocles, and Madame Rossi coming to the class was to ask for Lila to accompany us to the principalâs office. Perhaps Madame Bustier could inform you of what happened AFTER your lessons are complete?â
Madame Bustier simply nodded, shocked what had just occurred. âLila, please... go with your mother to the principalâs office.â
âMa-Maman,â Lila whimpered quietly.
âGet up,â Madame Rossi ordered, and her daughter did so. âYou are going to be punished the moment we get home and I tell your father what has been going on. But first, you are going to apologize to Marinette!â
âBut Maman! Sheâs been bullying me-â Lila started.
âNo, she seems to be the only one NOT eating into your delusions. And youâve done enough damage to her and her reputation.â Madame Rossi said before looking at Marinette, who had remained quiet the entire time. âAnd I personally apologize to you, young lady, and will be going to the school board myself to ensure your record is cleaned of the expulsion my daughter caused.â
Marinette simply nodded, looking tired. Lila tried to speak but a stern look from her mother made her reconsider before muttering, âIâm... sorry.â
Madame Rossi sighed, âNot even I believed that, Lila. Iâm very sorry, Marinette, but rest assured that I will ensure that Lila is punished.â With that, Madame Rossi grabbed her daughter by the arm and led her away, with Monsieur Damocles following. Madame Breaux went to leave only for Madame Bustier to stop her.
âElise... how did this happen?â Madame Bustier asked hoarsely, with her students looking at their new school nurse with confusion.
Elise Breaux straightened her spine, and looked at the entire class before speaking, with a sympathetic look at Marinette. âI did my job.â

âToday, class, Iâve asked a special guest to come speak to you!â Bustier greeted them all with a smile.
After instructing Marinette to keep pressure on her head, Madame Mendeleiev stood. âI need to get back to the class... could you take care of this?â
âIt will be solved by the end of the day,â Madame Breaux hissed.
Iâm calling because you daughter is in my office... No, sheâs not in any trouble! Why would you... I see. No, Iâm calling because sheâs hurt and Iâm recommending she stay home for the rest of the day. I also have some photos and information you need to see... sheâs currently resting, Madame. Iâd also like to discuss some concerns I have about bullying... No, Madame, Iâm worried Marinette is being bullied... Yes, I know about Caline Bustierâs thoughts, but I think you need to see this... Alright, thank you.â She forcefully hung up, grinding her teeth at the knowledge that Caline had nearly managed to turn Marinetteâs own parents against her. After taking a few deep breaths, Madame Breaux picked up the phone again.
âMonsieur Damocles? This is Elise Breaux... Yes, Iâm calling to report bullying of one Miss Dupain-Cheng... I have told Madame Bustier, Monsieur Damocles, and she has refused to listen... I know about her claims, but I have photographic evidence and a report ready to go to the school board... Well, Monsieur Damocles, I understand your concerns about the school board, if you could meet with me after the day has ended, I can show you what I have... Merci.â
Well, today she was going to keep her promise, no matter who stood in her way.
âAlya, you know I think you are awesome and I respect you. But I have to ask why are we heading to our school on a Sunday?â The DJ questioned as they approached Françoise Dupont High.
âWe need some more dirt on Lila, and I have a feeling that we can get it from here.â The ladyblogger explained. âI know it sounds farfetched but there must be something that shows her guilt that she canât possibly argue.â
The two approach the steps to the front entrance of the school.
âEven if there is more proof, the school is probably locked. There is no way we canâŚ.â
Alya opens the front door with no issue.
âAh⌠well never mind then.â
The two enter the school and notice how empty the hallways feel without it filled with students.
âAlright, we should check out her locker.â
âWait, didnât you get in trouble for going through ChloĂŠâs locker last time? With Lila having the school wrapped around her finger, this might ruin our plan.â
Alya stopped and pondered the statement. She hated to admit it, but Nino was right.
âCrap. That was my main way of getting proof.â Alya stomped in frustration.
âWell it isnât like they would be able to prove it was you that broke in since the security cameras here suck.â
Alya stopped.
âSecurity cams? This place has security Cameras!?â
âWell yea. But they were set up poorly, only some of the ones in the main hallways work. Thatâs why Damocles doesnât rely on them. I forgot you started coming here around the same time as Adrien, so you wouldnât know about that.â
âHuh, Shot in the dark. Maybe we can check any footage the cameras have?â
âI mean, itâs worth a shot. Though I am pretty sure its a dead end.â
