We have the best #nextdoorneighbor. Stacey Evans, our #sisterfromanothermister & front row #DeltaGirl, always watches out for us & vice versa. The last time I cooked a pound cake, I took some next door because Stacey wasn't feeling well, & we wanted to cheer her up. Stacey's mom, Miss Dorothy, was there, and after trying my cake later that evening, Stacey told me the following conversation ensued... Miss Dorothy (eating her cake): Stacey, who made this cake? Stacey: Steven made it. Miss Dorothy: Uh-uh. This cake was made by some old black woman in hot kitchen somewhere. Stacey (incredulous, yet amused): Now mama, you good and well that Steven bakes.
