i am fascinated by people who say they shave their legs for sensory reasons because like. im not saying i don't believe you but god i cannot relate. shaving is sensory hell. 30 minutes of running a tiny irritating blade along your skin again and again twisting and turning trying to make sure you got every spot (and very easy to accidental cut yourself and cause irritation) and then after like 4 days of smoothness you enter the stubble torment dimension where you skin becomes a cactus trying to fight itself. brother count me out i'll keep my full leg forest.
xD yeah. I tried for a bit... legs are very nice when smooth. when not smooth, not so much, which happens about a day after shaving and I do not have. time for that. stubble torment indeed is an accurate description

identity can be extremely valuable for understanding oneself, and communicating that to others, but you will be happier if you understand it as a sort of descriptive shorthand rather than a set of categories which you must aspire to or work to fit into or conform to 100% of the time
you know, i always quite liked the idea that the main group (main four at the very least) of the moominvalley group represented the seasons, because at least in my mind it makes sense
that the main four are; snufkin, moomintroll, little my, and snorkamaiden
and to me they represent the seasons in some way.
specifically
Snufkin = spring Snorkmaiden = summer Little my = Autumn Moomintroll (ironically) = winter
i have my reasons but some are silly and they're a bit hard to explain, so i'll try to simplify
Snufkin; simply enough he brings spring with him when he comes and goes, spring is rather short and leaves freely whenever it likes, like snufkin. tying to moomintroll; the tale of groundhogs day where if the groundhog sees it's shadow or not decides whether there's another week of winter or not, if moomin sees snufkin it's spring, if not it's practically another week of winter Snorkmaiden; She seems to like summery stuff, and (in the books) her fur changes color with mood, and summer can be rather weathery Little My; semi-most destructive season, natural destruction of things, i don't really know (also spooky season) Moomintroll; practically the season of longing but also hope and resilience, it's when snufkin leaves, and thus when he's saddest and winter is a naturally "sad" season, but it also means to break cycles so it's always the cycle of him breaking the cycle of keeping snufkin there, ALSO. he's always the first one to encounter ice related "villians"

there's a difference between exploring an identity and living inside one.
like when you've spent real time and energy working through something psychological you dont entirely understand, finally letting yourself actually use the thing that helps, going through the process of figuring out what's even going on with you, slowly starting to accept parts of yourself you refused to before, and then someone else just… picks up the vocabulary and the aesthetic of it without any of the struggle behind it. calling their hobbies hyperfixations. saying they "are def a little nerospicy". needing whatever new tool you just got, that you finally let yourself use, immediately, before you've even had it five minutes.
it doesn't make them a bad person. a lot of people are just trying on identities right now, trying to figure out who they are. i genuinely understand that.
but when you're actually in the thick of it, when it's not an aesthetic, it's genuinley how you function, it can feel deflating to watch it become someone else's personality trait. like your struggle is a "vibe".
