I think the more I’ve matured and the longer I ruminate on my own alterhuman identity the less I feel the need to post on this account. An alterhuman identity— for me— can be closely compared to my transgender identity.
Not many people have a whole account dedicated to being transgender, but if they have a different account they might bring it up. I posted here when I didn’t really know who I was, and I wanted fellowship and community to help me understand myself. It did work, but I realised I didn’t need it much anymore because I was comfortable not feeling the need to label myself as much anymore.
Sometimes I am just an animal and I feel at peace going to sleep with only that and nothing else, and the same goes for gender identity.
I hope in the future I may just as comfortable casually addressing my transgender identity in other spaces as I could my alterhuman identity. I strive for acceptance of my identity and my person.

I think the main reason for the low median age in the therian community is just that you have way too many immediate concerns to deal with when you're >25. So much is happening in/around our community right now that I want to be involved with, but unfortunately I have work, groceries, vet appointments, dishes, bank statements, laundry, old friends I need to schedule hangouts with, upcoming birthdays and family events, and the news that I need to keep up with. And after all that, I don't really have energy left over for heavy community discussions. If I don't wanna lose my mind, I need to spend my free time watching my shows, reading my books, and creating art.

Sometimes I encounter alterhuman-identifying folks in the wild who otherwise seem completely uninvolved in the community and honestly.....what a beautiful existence living your life completely apart from some of the utter bullshit going on in the community lately. very tempting to leave it all and do the same. a little note in my bio and sometimes some discussion in relation to an art piece about my experiences. no annoying anti-endos or white people making bizarre statements. life could be a dream......

soulbonding doesn't have to be platonic. or involve any kind of close relationship between soulbonds and the person who soulbonds them
soulbonding doesn't have to involve a host. anyone in a system can soulbond including other soulbonds. a soulbond is not materially different from anyone else in a system (unless they are for reasons specific to them)
soulbonding isn't always voluntary and historically was not seen as voluntary on the part of the host/system. voluntary soulbonds are valid! but sometimes people just choose to show up
soulbonding doesn't have to involve souls! it's not meant to be literal it's meant to describe the feeling. your soulbonding is valid no matter why you believe it happens
soulbonding is just a connection to a mind who is perceived as originating from elsewhere, while also being somehow "fictional" or linked to a fictional medium
soulbonding covers OCs and originally was used by writers to refer to a character who showed up and exercised their own will over the story. it was then expanded to other people's characters. these were sometimes termed "insourced" and "outsourced" soulbonds respectively
soulbonding is basically like being a gateway system, with the potential for "daytrippers" who visit part-time and "telephone bonds" that can communicate while staying in their worlds
soulbonding can be mystical and magical if you perceive it to be so! but it has no relation to the "twin flame/destined romantic partner" idea of a soulbond that originated in the new age community. they have two separate origins. of course you can experience a romantic connection with a soulbond but they are not inherently linked
I've come to realize that if I ever wanted to summarize my alterhumanity (including otherkinity and other unlabeled weirdness), it is functionally impossible to do in something like an essay. It would have to be a massive multimedia project including writing, interactive elements, and visual media that is all meant to be consumed as a singular piece. I would only be able to describe it as an "A24 video game" with ongoing elements of psychological and cosmic horror.
The ability for me to actually fulfill a project like that though is "not really". It would literally take years
