I wonder what my Sweet Stranger has been up to?
Trying to keep the kids out of trouble, mostly. How are you, Sweetheart?
Oh my! Looks like you have your hands full! Your 🍬💖 is well, staying busy but missing our interactions.
So do I… Things got busy and.. messy.
Well, it looks like whatever happened got you over your shyness over letting people know you are speaking with me Sweetie.
… That is… This… is faster.
Oh my Sweet Stranger (I will call you that until you ask me to stop), tell your Sweetheart what happened. It does not bother me you have decided to do it this way. It was always your choice to stay hidden, just a surprise is all.
I honestly didn’t realize what I did until you brought it up. Used to messaging so much anymore I just replied without thinking.
Not complaining, happy you decided to continue to talk.
So. Are you still there? Work got away from me again, sorry.
Yes my sweet stranger. I am still here. Been dealing with a bit of family business myself but it is good to see you are still alive.
Many have tried, Sweetheart, but I don’t go down so easily. I do occasionally have nightmares about it though, so there’s that I suppose.
It happens I suppose to anyone who has lived through what you have. You are still here though, which I am grateful for.
Yeah, still here. And I don’t plan on going anywhere any time soon.
Unless… well, that can wait.
What can wait? These cryptic messages worry me sweet. I am aware you cannot share the nature of what you do but please let me be a distraction from the stress. I am good at that you know 😘
I only meant I wasn’t going to be going anywhere unless it was to be with you, my Sweetheart.
You flatter me sir ☺
I would be honored to entertain you for an evening if you ever find yourself in my neck of the woods.
I do a lot of traveling, so I may just run into you one day, Sweetheart.
I hope so, would love to be able to meet you my Sweet Stranger

Mobile home - TS
It had been a long day. Cosima had went to the library to do a bit more research on where her sister might be in the city and was now driving around trying to find somewhere to park and rest for a while.
Since driving out here, she’d used most of her money on the search for her missing sister and had taken to living out of her car. It was good enough until she completed her mission.
Cosima had pulled out into the intersection as the light turned green, thinking asuitable lot was close by when the crash happened.
“I’m gonna have to call you back, Pepp,” Tony said as the call ended and the screen in his glasses cleared. Getting out of his own vehicle, he went to the driver side window of the other, peeking in to make sure the person inside was okay.
Groaning, she blinked, taking a moment to realise what happened. Looking out the cracked windshield to what was once the front end of her transportation and home Cosima had realised she’d been in an accident. “No, no, no, no…”
“Excuse me, miss?” he tried, tapping lightly on her window.
“Fuck…” She moaned, looking at the man responsible for her new situation as now officially homeless.
“Are you alright? Hurt?”
“I… I do not know…”
“Don’t know? That doesn’t sound good.” He walked around the car to check the damage. “That’s not good either.”
Cosima tried to keep her composure, but a small sob escaped her as the reality of what had just happened set in.
Heading back to her window, he said, “I’m really sorry about all this, this doesn’t normally happen. Did you get hurt? Miss?”
Her breath hitched as her mind raced with everything that could happen now, unable to answer.
“Miss. Hey!” He tried the door handle, wondering if it was unlocked.
Cosima felt the first tear fall as her door opened.
“Hey, hey. What hurts?”
“I have nothing now,” she sobbed, “nothing…”
“What do you mean, nothing?” he asked before peeking in the car.
She just let herself cry, there wasn’t anything else she could do now.
“Wait… were you living in here?”
Cosima nodded, placing her head on the steering wheel.
“Could you come out, please?”
“What’s the point?”
“You’re in a wrecked car in an intersection, you need out. I can get you a room later.”
She snorted as she sniffled, “I have nothing now, maybe somebody else hitting me would be merciful?”
“I do believe I just said I would get you a room later,” Tony told her.
“For a while, but not forever. I still have too much to do so thanks but no thanks. I’ll figure out something.”
“Okay, look, get out of the car. Since I’m at fault, I’ll find a more permanent solution for you.”
“I don’t need charity, just need to do what I came to do and then I can go home.”
“Well, step one, get out of the car.”
Growling slightly, now that she’d gotten over the shock, Cosima wiped her eyes before knocking into the man.
As she did, he took her to the sidewalk, avoiding other annoyed drivers that had been trying to get around them. “They’ll need our information, are you okay with that? JARVIS, send a call over to the station if you haven’t already, thanks.”
“I’m not illegal in anyway. Just not home…”
“What kind of room would you like?” he asked her.
She glared at him, “I don’t need your charity, just need to find what I’m looking for and then I can go home.”
“What are you looking for then?”
“I’m not telling the stranger that just ruined my car my business,” Cosima snapped.
“I could have probably helped you find whatever it was, but if you want to go at it the hard way instead, be my guest.”
She sighed, “my sister…”
“What’s her name?”
“I don’t even know your name, nor you mine…”
“Tony Stark,” he told her.
She blinked, realization dawning on her, “no…”
“Yes, that is my name, and I’m sorry for wrecking your car. Would you let me get you a room somewhere now?”
“Still can take care of myself. Cosima by the way.
“Okay, Cosima. Would you rather have a new car then?”
“I just want to find my sister. But it looks like I’m not going to be able to do that…”
“I can help you if you give me her name,” said Tony.
“Why would you help me? All you’ve done is hit my car by being careless and suddenly you want to use my misfortune to ease your guilty conscious. No, I’ll manage.”
“Wow, really? More like I know I fucked up and I wanted to help you.” Sighing, he added, “Makes sense you’d think that though. It’s fine, we’ll just talk to the authorities when they get here, and then you can walk to wherever you’re going.”
Cosima sighed as she put her head in her hands, “sorry, I’m tired and worried. This was just the icing on the shit cake today.”
“So are you willing to accept any help now?”
She looked up at him, “you’re really willing to help?”
“Yes I am. You just have to let me.”
She thought for a moment. All her looking and tracking had came up a dead end. It felt like she was nowhere near close enough to finding her dear sister than she’d been at the beginning. Maybe he could help, or maybe he was just trying to lure her into some sort of trap.
“Well?” he tried. “What’s her name?”
“Mia…”
“Mia,” he repeated as JARVIS began a search for her, too many results filling the screens in Tony’s glasses. “Last name?”
“Romano.”
“Romano. Mia Romano…” There were a few results coming up from years earlier, but nothing recent. “Guess I’ll need to do more than a simple search. Keep the name saved, J.”
“Who are you talking to?” Cosima asked as she watched him.
“JARVIS, he’s my computer, well, more than that, but to put it simply, he’s an AI.”
“So your… Computer has nothing…”
“Not on a basic search, no. I’ll need to dig deeper.”
Wrapping her arms around herself, Cosima bit her lip. If a sophisticated computer couldn’t find her sister, then what hope did she have.
“Do you want to come with me?”
“I need my things, need sleep,” she muttered as she started to sway on her feet.
He lightly grabbed her arm in case she would fall. “Are you going to fall asleep on me now?”
“Might,” Cosima admitted, “been up for days.”
“You know getting sleep is important, right?” he asked her. “JARVIS, just send the information over, I’ll talk with them later… Yes, call Happy please, thank you.”
“Thought I was close…”
“Don’t worry, we’ll find her. Are there any other names you might know her by? Maybe she’s using something other than her birth name.”
“I… I don’t… Know…”
“Alright. First, we’ll meet up with my driver, he’ll get us to the tower…”
Cosima nodded, leaning into him a bit.
“Can you walk?”
“Y-yeah. What about my things? I can’t leave it to get stollen…”
“Okay, okay, wait here…” He left her on the sidewalk as he went to her car, grabbing whatever seemed even vaguely important, and returned to her. “Your things, miss, did I miss any?”
“My book. I can’t leave my book. It’s all I have of her.”
“Where do you have your book?”
“Between the seats,” Cosima told him, “it’s just a photo album but…”
He went back to her car, looking between the seats and finding the photo album she wanted, just as another car pulled up beside the sidewalk, the man inside watching Tony as he climbed out. “Maybe I should do the driving after all.”
“Just a small accident. The girl’s coming with us,” Tony replied, handing the photo album to Cosima.
She took it, hugging the worn album to her chest as the men talked.
The man in the car came out, gathering her other things into the trunk.
Tony put a hand on Cosima’s shoulder. “Do you want to be alone in the backseat or do you mind if I sit with you?”
“I don’t care…”
After a glance to the other man, Tony opened the back door for her. “I’ll sit with you then, Miss Cosima.”
She let herself be ushered into the car, sinking down onto the seat before closing her eyes.
Tony shut her door and walked around to the other side before climbing in beside her. “Alright, Happy, to the tower.”
“You’re really sure about this?” the other man asked him.
“I am. She’s looking for her sister.”
Sighing as he pulled the car away from the sidewalk, Happy muttered, “Anything for a pretty face…”
“If I had another choice I wouldn’t be here,” she grumbled without opening her eyes, “I’d have broken his for destroying my car.”
“And I am sorry,” Tony told her. “I’m normally a better driver than this. I usually don’t even let Happy drive for me.”
“What made you crash anyway?” Happy asked.
“I don’t even remember, I was talking to Pepper.”
“And I suffer for it,” Cosima sighed as she started drifting off to sleep.
“Again, I am sorry, but hopefully we can find your sister.”
She moaned nonsense as she lost her battle to stay awake.
Tony looked at her a moment before murmuring, “Alright, JARVIS, you find anything else?” The screens in his glasses came up with more information the AI was able to find with a deeper search.
Cosima’s grip on her photo album loosened, letting it fall to the floor partially opened.
Looking down at it, Tony picked it up, glancing through the photos.
On the page were two girls in matching glittering bodysuits, one was a younger Cosima and the other must be her sister. They were surrounded by tents and smiling as they held each other sitting on the ground.
“JARVIS, can you do facial recognition for her?” he said, peeking over at Cosima as the AI responded.
She looked peaceful for the first time since they’d met, the worry lines melted away in sleep. Cosima shifted slightly but didn’t wake.
After watching her a moment more, he began looking through the album.
There were more pictures of the girls, some with other kids that shares a resemblance to them, some with a man and a woman that might have been their parents and a few of the sister with a familiar looking boy.
He stared at the boy a little, narrowing his eyes but unable to place a name, no matter how familiar looking. He went through the rest of the pages until the end and then closed the album, setting it beside Cosima.
She hadn’t been lying when she said she was tired, sleeping all the way to their destination .
As Happy took the car into the garage, Tony gently shook her shoulder. “Miss Cosima, we’re at the tower. We might be able to find some information on your sister Mia.”
Cosima groaned, “huh? Wha…”
“We’re at the tower and we’re looking for your sister, Miss Cosima,” he reminded her.
“Why are you calling me miss?” She opened her eyes finally, “just Cosima is fine.”
“My apologies, I was trying to be polite,” he quickly answered her. “Happy will get the door for you.”
“People that don’t know me usually aren’t polite when they talk to me,” she admitted looking down before picking up her album.
“Don’t know why not,” he said as Happy opened her door.
“Not everyone is so lucky to have a life such as yours,” she replied getting out, “some people are used to being judged because of how we grew up.”
“Sure…” Getting out of the car without Happy’s assistance, he said, “Certainly something I wouldn’t know about.” Turning to the other man, Tony added, “Happy, could you go check on Pepper for me?”
“Isn’t that something you would do?” Happy questioned.
“This is kind of work related, so I’m going to be a little busy.”
“Busy or busy?”
Rolling his eyes, Tony told him, “Locating a missing person kind of busy. Anyway, Miss… ahem, anyway, Cosima, JARVIS has been doing a deeper search online, wherever he can reach, and he may have found something.”
“Oh?” Cosima looked at him, still looking tired but intrested.
“If you come with me to the lab, I can show you everything I’m looking at right - oh,” he said as JARVIS brought something to his attention. “Okay… J, are you sure about that?”
“Of course, sir,” a new voice suddenly spoke. “Facial recognition match, even though older, but the name is not the same.”
“What? You found her?” She asked, desperation evident in her voice.
“Maybe. Come on.” He led her to the elevator, getting on and riding it to the lab together.
Cosima figited nervously. After all this time to finally have a lead was more than she ever thought possible.
“So… A warning would be… if this is her, she’s not going to be the same as you remember.”
“I know,” she replied sadly, “just from what I saw before she left…” Cosima sighed, “I just don’t want her to think I don’t care. Mia’s my big sister, I love her.”
The doors opened to the large laboratory, lights coming on as Tony stepped in.
“Shall I bring up the results, sir?” the voice asked.
Tony hesitated. JARVIS had begun showing him alarming results. He didn’t know what had happened to the woman’s sister, but who she was now…
Still, he did promise Cosima. “Go ahead, JARVIS.”
Screens of information sprung to life throughout the lab, Mia’s face appearing on few.
“Amore mia, what has he done to you?” Cosima whispered as she looked around at the various information.
Tony was silent, allowing Cosima time to take it in.
“This isn’t her,” she said, “it is her but she wouldn’t on her own…”
“Do you want me to help more?” he asked.
Cosima looked at him, “what can be done? That man’s turned my sister into this,” she gestured to the information, “how can I help her?”
“I can call some guys… They’ve kind of dealt with this sort of thing…”
Her eyes narrowed, “who.exactly are you calling?”
“I’m sure you’ve heard of Captain America.”
“I have,” Cosima hesitated as she tapped her fingers on the photo album, “is he the only one?”
“No the only one. I’ll only be asking other Avengers for help with this, no government agency, alright? I expected maybe she needed a break from the family so I’d help you at least get a location to know she’s alright, but this… We’ll need backup. JARVIS, can you get a name on the guy she was with?”
“It appears to be Crossbones.”
“I thought he was dead…”
“Apparently that is not so.”
“What others would help?” She was getting nervous at his answer.
“Maybe the Winter Soldier… Not sure who else, Cap would need to talk to them.”
“Okay.”
“You’ll let us help you?”
Cosima sighed, “i don’t have a choice. I can’t help her on my own, not with this,” she gestured to the images. “Just…”
“Just what?”
“I don’t think involving Hawkeye would be a good idea is all.”
“And why is that?”
She set the album down, “would you believe me if I said there’s history?”
“What kind of history?”
Cosima opened the album to a picture of Mia and a boy. His bare arms were wrapped around her waist, head on her shoulder as she leaned into him, her arms over his. They were smiling at the camera, happiness showing on their faces.
“They were in love.”
“Wait, that’s Barton?”
“Yeah, we grew up together until he made the decision to leave. He was going to be part of the family but chose his brother over her.”
“So you don’t want him involved in finding her then…”
Cosima sighed, “I’m not sure with how he left if it would be safe for him considering. We don’t know what she was told to turn her into what she is or if he still has feelings for her. Do you want someone that might jeopardize everything helping?”
“If they were as close as you say, he might be the one that can reach her.”
“I don’t know…”
“He might even just so up once he hears from Cap…”
“Whatever you think’s best then.”
“I want him to help then.”
Trying to hide a yawn behind her hand, Cosima shrugged.
“I should probably put you in a room to get some sleep, huh?” he said.
“I guess I could accept,” she replied as her eyes closed.
“Come on,” he told her as he gently led her back to the elevator.
Cosima was shaking a bit, telling how exhausted she truly was as she struggled to keep her eyes open on the way.
After getting her onto the elevator, Tony decided it would be easiest to just take her to the penthouse, pressing the button on the wall to get them there. He kept a firm hold on Cosima to be sure she wouldn’t fall as the elevator rose. When it came to a stop and the doors opened for them, he guided her inside, leading her to the bedroom, where he sat her on the bed.
“Get some sleep, alright?” he told the woman, seeing that she was already beginning to drift off. “We’ll continue the search when you wake up.”
"Mia..." Cosima whispered as her breathing evened out and sleep overtook her.
