being a vegan/vegetarian/even pescatarian alterhuman doesnt fucking make you better than those of us who eat meat on a regular basis???

also some countries actually have fucking standards for their meat production???

like i’m GLAD you can afford to supplement your iron and protein intake with expensive things that don’t have meat in them. i’m GLAD you’re taking a stand against cruel farming of cattle, chickens, pigs, sheep, etc etc, because from what i’ve seen, most countries have little to no regulations on the welfare of livestock

but not all of us are wealthy enough to afford supplements. sometimes, meat is the ONLY WAY we can get all our nutrients to be healthy

additionally, some of us actually live in places where there are STRICT welfare regulations for livestock!

i literally help raise the stock that goes into my own meat products. i help my mother’s ex partner and his family on their cattle farm. i KNOW that our cattle are WELL looked after. i eat the stock that i helped raise, and i eat that meat in confidence knowing that those animals had a GOOD FUCKING LIFE

they had all the fucking grass in the world to graze on, they had clean water, they were washed regularly, they had acres of land to roam. those cattle are not the same as the poor, sickly animals shut in warehouses in other countries.

do not fucking push your life style onto others.

i don’t shove brisket and chicken drumsticks down your throat, so don’t fucking shove your tofu and rocket salad down mine.

vegans and vegetarians are not fucking inherently more moral and better than those of us who choose to eat meat.

See that's actually what's helping me be less of a cynical asshole about therian tiktok. Yes, it sucks that there are kids who call quadrobists therians and make it all about masks and tails and whatever but it's not THEIR fault. They're kids for God's sake.

That's what they know because the app they're using was designed to make money and keep your attention on it, not to create spaces of meaningful education and community discussions.

It is not the kid's fault that late stage capitalism hit the therian community so hard. It just isn't. We can encourage discussion and help combat misinformation or whatever the fuck but it's not the fault of the therians using tiktok (yes, even the cringe ones) that therian tiktok ended up the way it did.
