Ya know i love looking back at this year's later and realizing what this person was actually meaning to ask, so if this anon is still around(doubt it) here's what you wanted!
Let's start with kala first, his original design was more "innocent" looking, but ofcourse over time i changed that
^ his current design! its meant to fit more of a "nightmare leader", his button eye was added originally cues i had no idea how to draw his other eye im pretty sure, but its slowly become a major part of his design, unlike his spots which have varied from each time i drew him, so in his current design i decided to forgo the spots and just stick with a darker fur for him, it think it fits him better!
Now onto one the anon didn't ask about but one i've been kinda wanting to go over each little design for, which is nightlight(old and new)
^ This is what i like to call nightlight v1 ofcourse i do not have the proper save anymore so i had to snatch this from my old post but yeah original nightlight was meant to seem more "scary" atleast what i thought was scary at the time, it was never meant to have the same lore i gave him today, his design was mostly spider based at the time, but i didn't know how to draw multiple arms, i dont remember why i gave him eye hands though? but this design definitely stuck for awhile
^ Nightlight v2 not much changed from the original to this one, other then the fact i made him shorter and gave him what i thought were how you drew claws i also made his ears more obvious that he was a bear-rabbit thing(that's another design choice im not sure why i did but it also stuck)
^ Nightlight v3! now this is where i had a bit more fun drawing and i had gotten better to, i made his fur much lighter then the original and gave him an actual mouth(this does not end up sticking) his design turned much softer, but still clearly sharp, because at the time i used to do roleplays with 2 of my now kinda ex-friends, and those stories usually had nightlight going through the ringer, so this design was meant to show that
And now last but not least the current design!
^ Nightlight v4 the current version, this was a complete redesign from the original, and i drew him so tall that i cannot even just screenshot the important part as it would literally cut his legs out of the frame, now onto the tidbits about this design! i wanted to separate him completely from the original as i started to slowly dislike that design, so i added a bunch of new shit, readjusted his speaker, and made him more spider like, this design might end up sticking for awhile if im honest!
But yeah that's mainly it, i just wanted to re-answer this cues it will not stop bothering me with how horribly i answered it so anon i hope your happy with this massive ramble, and the rest of you enjoy the massive dump of me trying to explain my lore, now that's full mainly it
