important toph facts
masquerades as the âblind banditâ in secret, taking on a new name, appearance, and personality that goes directly in contrast with how she was raised
plays up her fragile feminine side around her parents purposely to throw them off this trail
laments that her parents will never see her as anything but the specific image of her that exists in their headÂ
her purposeful rejection of high society manners can be read as a rejection of feminine gender roles Â
changes her voice on purpose when she talks to her parents, teacher, and the guards at her house (thats her cissona)
âi actually feel girly for onceâÂ
her reaction to being played by a dude in the ember island play:
and thus, i conclude that:
but wait, theres more!
i could go on for ages about the constant juxtaposition between katara and tophâs respective levels of femininity. the amount of times toph has been shown failing purposely at being feminine? *grits my teeth* anyways heres more metaÂ
this bit from the comic âboyâs day outâ speaks for itself i think
also the rest of the comic is about toph and katara pretending to be boys to get into a restaurant (important to note: how little toph changes compared to katara appearance wise)Â
in the comic The Rift toph has flashbacks to things from her childhood that her parents made her do. notably, two of the things she thinks about are how she hated to wear a dress, and how she wanted to go and play sports with a group of boys.Â
when acting un ladylike and rejecting her parents way of life, toph refers to this as her âtrue selfâ which in and of itself is Really Trans. but whatâs her dads reaction to seeing tophâs âtrue selfâ? he calls her a thing.Â
and last but not least âtank top with board shortsâ is the worlds most trans swimwear outfitÂ
all of these evident points are nearly a mirror-image of events in my childhood growing up as girl. Can we please allow kids to be able to see non-feminine little girls without ruling them as actually-not-girls.
I related to toph so much because of our femaleness and shared rejection of femininity. These are female/womenâs experiences.

Yâknow I reblogged this a bit ago and was saved from financial probation and getting kicked out of school because of it, just mere months from graduation. Got a call from the financial aid advisor telling me that they made a mistake with filing my account (or some other sort of clerical error) and said that, basically, they owe me money. Welp.
Last time I reblogged the money cat, I won two $100 gift cards at work.

Ya know... I'm really starting to hate that OnlyFans is a thing. Let me explain why.
I respect a woman's right to her body and her right to do what she wants with her body but the number of anons on here asking girls if they have one and trying to pressure them into doing it when they say no is fucking unbelievable.
They don't want to, leave them the fuck alone. Take the no and just move along with a little respect would ya? I've seen some of this become outright harassment and it pisses me off.
Ok, I'm done.
It's almost as if the widespread availability of monetized objectification of women has led people to believe that women exist to be objectified, and for that objectification to be monetized.
In other words, it's almost as if sex work dehumanizes women.
Prostitution is not the âright to do with your bodyâ that is language stolen from the abortion argument by pimps and perverts
Prostitution is menâs rights to do with women and girls bodies
Can I just point out that JKR is awfully quick to judge the trans community considering she purposefully initialized her name on her books, to obscure her gender, in an attempt to utilize male privilege.
you mean in an attempt for her book to even get a shot at being published and surviving because society fucking hates women?
Exactly, so she should be able to relate to other women who are persecuted by society too.
she won't be able to relate to men
op, what are you saying? that women must hide or change their sex to escape misogyny and gain male privilege? is that why so many girls and women transition to male? đ¤
Idky they transition. If you wanna be rude and ask someone to explain their identity go right ahead but I can't answer that for you. I'm not a trans male.
If that does, however, happen to be a contributing factor in their identity then that's their business.
I'm calling JKR out for it because she's targeting trans women so that little fact about her is kinda hypocritical.
You don't get to just use androgyny to hide in to propel your career to then turn around and tell people they can't live their lives by their own design. It's just hypocritical. And wether it was her idea or not she still did it.
Not my fault she didn't have enough faith in her own writing to see if it could become successful on it's own. Wasn't a problem for Stephenie Meyer or Suzanne Collins.
She didnât âuse androgynyâ, you talentless hack.
She was obliged to use her initials because males are so misogynistic they literally would not buy a fantasy novel written by a female author.
As for your snotty little comment about âhaving faith in her writingâ â she was writing Harry Potter in the early 90s. She created the YA genre that Collins and Meyer and Colfer and Riordan later benefitted off of.
See, this is why youâre an amateur, and sheâs a billionaire. She knew her shit. You just write it.
So women resorting to using androgynous names on their books because women's work is so belittled by males is them not 'having enough faith' in their own work?
Sounds a bit like victim blaming to me đ¤
all you guys deadnaming JK rowling by calling her joanne, just canât believe the cruelty
where are you getting child pornography from. âpornography tweeted at children on threads about their artâ doesnât translate to child pornography. judging by her tweets of late itâs more likely that sheâs retweeting childrenâs fanart and people are tweeting pornography on those threads because of their problem with her.
she also not responding to anything regarding trans issues in the tweet itself, which if you posted it in full is obviously in response to someone accusing her of calling people who take medication for mental health lazy.
it was a weird thing to say but this post badly misleading.
she is responding to trans issues in this thread because the whole thing came about from her liking a tweet that compared HRT to antidepressants and called taking them âpure lazinessâ and people rightly called her out for it-
she then went on to compare HRT to conversion therapy in the same threadÂ
But youâre right, I should have posted her misleading and transphobic thread in full, and what sheâs talking about in the first tweet where children are knowingly exposed to porn is technically closer to CSA than child porn.Â
Mea culpa.Â
Iâm so happy that you recognize that exposing young children to sexually graphic material is child sexual abuse.
So if you could ask transgender activists to please stop retweeting porn on threads where sheâs interacting with children who are sending her Ickabog fanart, thatâd be fucking stellar.
Thanks.
Honestly this is so vile to pretend the porn situation was her fault, when itâs the TRAs who keep doing this. Was she supposed to quote tweet the porn? And expose more people to it? ffs
Moreover, the tweet is calling the medical industry lazy for trying to find an easy option for healing people rather than taking their time through therapy and such. Itâs not an attack on people who are prescribed antidepressants and similar, but an attack on the system and culture which has led to medications being the first-resort rather than therapy (or even a therapy-meds mix) because itâd a cheap and easy way to get people at least functional. And by functional I mean âwell enough to participate and be âproductiveâ in our capitalistic systemâ.
this is the second time iâm seeing TRAs distorting words to accuse JK Rowling of pedophilia. This is so gross, do you have no integrity? Iâd love to see you idiots saying this on twitter where sheâll see it and immediately back down when she responds like the first cowardly liar didÂ
âgraphic design is my passion! :)â

Little things you can do to feel better if you are trans and you canât really transition right now
For guys
Baseball caps? Those are good.
Short haircuts. If anyone questions, say itâs for convenience.
For your neck: fang pendants (very badass). Or a dapper lil bowtie.
Big ass stompy boots.
Those cool belt buckles. You can get a basic one or something with a cool design (like a dragon!).
Donât shave. Let your body hair grow. Unless you feel uncomfortable.
Buy some spicy-smelling perfumes or other cosmetics. Or if there is something that says âForestâ on it, this one is also good.
If you can, try some weightlifting. It will make your muscles better and release some of that sweet sweet testosterone. But remember, fat and skinny men are also very handsome, so if you canât, donât sweat it.
Eat plenty of protein for a testosterone boost. Also, zinc from seafood - like shrimp and salmon especially - will help that chemical magic. Leafy greens, pomegranate, coconuts, garlic also help. Watch out for soy and tofu! They raise estrogen. And raisins are great, but dried apricots are not.
Remember that no matter what you are 100% man (unless you are a demiguy/bigender, then you are 50% man or whatever it looks like for you, that is still very cool, and if you are genderfluid and currently a dude, thatâs still very good and valid).
For gals
Kitten ear beanies are so pure and good (just like you).
Let your hair grow to a nice length. If anyone questions, say you found a new style.
For your neck: simple crystal pendants (very pretty).Â
Crystal bracelets!
Lil ballet flats.
Shaving can make you feel a whole lot better. Remember - some cis girls also have to shave!
Just a little bit of lip balm goes a long way. Oh! And clear nail polish!
Sweet-smelling cosmetics are your best friend. You can probably get on eBay or in your local store a nice bottle of vanilla body mist.
Google some exercises for a bigger butt, if you want to try it. If you canât, remeber less-curvy women are also beautiful.
Eat plenty of soy, flaxseed, sesame seed, dried apricots⌠I know that those give you a bit of extra estrogen. Apparently coffee can also do it? Getting estrogen from diet is harder. Just eat a lot of tasty fresh food. Remember to treat yourself.
Remember that no matter what you are 100% woman (unless you are a demigirl/bigender, then you are 50% woman or whatever it looks like for you, that is still very cool, and if you are genderfluid and currently a lady, thatâs still very good and valid).
For nonbinary pals
Simple beanies.
Google âandrogynous/unisex hairstylesâ. Look how many cool options you have! You might tweak one to your needs, like make it longer, or shorter, or add some cool hair dyeâŚ
For your neck: scarves. They come in many colors and patterns, cover up your neck so you donât get cold, also you can hide your neck bump or lack thereof.
Friendship bracelets!
Trainer shoes.
Baggy hoodies are really nice.
You can shave and donât wear makeup. Or rock the beard and eyeshadow look. Or really, anything else.
Cosmetics? Citrus and lavender are considered unisex scents. You can also wikiHow to Make Perfume and mix some scents you like at home.
Exercise, if you are healthy enough to do it, is good. Try running and yoga. Remember, media sells us the myth that androgyny=thinness, but itâs bullcrap. Fat, curvy, muscular people can all be nonbinary and/or androgynous.
You can look up the guys and gals sections too. Maybe you will find something that helps you.
Remember that your identity is 100% valid and true, no matter what. Yes, any kind of identity. No matter if itâs a neutral void or a mix of everything, no matter if itâs stable or changes. Itâs valid because you are valid.
gender roles but make them woke.
OP this is so fucking regressive
You can do these things without being another gender! If stereotypical masculinity/ feminity make you uncomfortable you dont have to stuck to them!!
Also, gotta love that we have âtips for gaysâ and itâs like⌠survival in a homophobic family or community, you know, the likes, and then thereâs trans tips which are just aesthetics. Speaks for itself.
newsflash: wear whatever the fuck you want. no one really fucking cares.
god you all are gender conforming losers
A man will literally kidnap rape and kill multiple women and the news will still try to spin it as somehow one of his victimâs fault. Look at her, sheâs happily married now, so obviously she deserves at least some of the blame for the poor brokenhearted incel serial killer, right?
Our apologies
A child who is in the hospital doesnât need to feel worse.
They do need appropriate medical care, though â which the doctors, and not the precocious child, are qualified to prescribe.
Anyways, a transgender childâs like a vegan cat.
This is disgusting. The progressive thing to do upon seeing a feminine boy is to just allow that boy to exist as he is. Not even 10 years ago this would have been considered amazing for the doctors to accept and treat a little boy like this without thinking thereâs something wrong with him. Which is exactly what the doctors were doing. But now? No, boys canât have long hair or like butterflies or the color pink. Those are GIRL things. ONLY GIRLS like these things you stupid doctors! Put away your decades of medical knowledge you stupid idiots because this is clearly not a boy because BRACELETS. You know what would make this kid feel better? For the people in his life to stop telling him he has to change everything about himself and then spend the rest of his life convincing everyone he meets to ignore reality just so he can enjoy the things he likes. He doesnât need a new name or new pronouns or to leave that ER with a prescription for lupron thatâll ruin his health for life. He just needs to be told he is fine just the way he is, that thereâs nothing wrong with a boy that likes to look the way he looks. Which is exactly what those doctors were doing and absolutely not what this older girl was doing when she decided to play into the notion that there is something wrong with him. Sheâs the one who canât accept him for who he really is. Sheâs the one who feels like she has to emotionally manipulate people who have dedicated their lives to medicine into ignoring the facts right in front of them because in her world view this child couldnât possibly be a boy. Sheâs lecturing these doctors as if sheâs doing this kid a favor, as if sheâs a hero championing this kidâs feelings, but all sheâs doing is cementing the self loathing he already feels about how being a boy is wrong. And this doesnât even begin to cover the little boys who may be watching at home like him, who were perfectly happy as they are but are now getting a message that thereâs something wrong with them, too. This is like watching a cringy gender propaganda comic play out in live action and itâs just so utterly repulsive. Who this kid really is, is a boy that likes long hair and butterflies. You can either shame him until he doesnât want long hair and butterflies anymore, or you can shame him into not wanting to be a boy anymore. Either way, gender wins. We use to understand that progress was letting kids be who they are without any shame at all. Maybe one day weâll understand that again. Too bad an entire generation is going to have to pay for it.
He only thinks heâs a girl because liberals and conservatives alike wouldnât fucking let him be himself.
Fuck this trans nonsense. Iâm tired of you shit heads reinforcing backwards ass gender roles. There is nothing wrong with gender non conformity!
i really hope that one day cis gay men understand that including trans gay men in gay spaces doesnât just mean making room for the trans men that have medically transitioned or the men that pass or the men that transitioned at a young age or the trans gay men that conceptualize their experiences in a way that is the same as the way a cis gay man would. i hope one day cis gay men understand that including trans gay men in gay spaces means genuinely challenging cis-centric notions about what it means to be a gay man and accepting the lived experiences of trans men to be an equally valid experience of being a gay man as the lived experiences of cis men would be
I am kind of curious what experiences would be excluded? What kinds of trans gay experiences aren't always accepted and why?
Cis gay culture is super focussed on dicks. This is a problem for people who were not born with a dick (many people are not cool about strap-ons).
Cis gay culture can be incredibly gross about vaginas, when cis gay men define their identity negatively around how gross vaginas are. This is harmful and exclusive to trans men, particularly trans men who are not dysphoric about -- and even like -- their vulvas/vaginas (part of cis gay culture is not knowing that calling the whole thing âthe vaginaâ is inaccurate, because âwhy would a gay man need to know that?â).
Cis gay culture is tied up in the experience of growing up as a man who likes men and having to navigate being in menâs spaces from that perspective -- both in a positive way (cruising, homosocial camaraderie) and a negative way (being worried about getting gay-bashed). Trans men who didnât come out/transition until they were adults didnât get that experience. Many trans men are fearful of trying to be in menâs spaces, because of the significant risks of getting hurt if we donât pass. Even if we do pass, we donât have the entire lifetime of experience of how to behave in male spaces that cis men do, and we often have to figure out the social norms on the fly.
Accepting queer trans men into gay culture means accepting that some men have âfemaleâ bodies, that they are still men, and that those bodies can be desirable even though they donât fit the (extremely narrow) standards of the cis gay community. It means accepting that there are men who not only donât have dicks, but donât want to have dicks. It means acknowledging that some of us are prevented from being gender nonconforming, feminine gay men because when you try and do feminine masculinity in a âfemaleâ body, it just gets you misgendered as a woman. It means accepting bears who canât grow full beards because taking T as an adult usually doesnât give you that much facial hair.
So homosexuals have to redefine our terms, communities, and ignore our unique life experiences as exclusively attracted to the same sex in order to be morally good?
There is no room for homosexuals to demand our own space, separate from those with the privilage of opposite sex attraction?
There's no room, morally, for homosexuals to say "I am not attracted to the opposite sex", and to say that proudly?
"Gay men are obsessed with dicks?" Your selfish apathy to WHY gay men celebrate our same-sex attraction says a lot. There's a good reason you don't belong with us
saying gay people have âextremely narrow standardsâ? saying gay men are âsuper focused on dicksâ just because they donât want to fuck women? how can anyone read this tripe and not see the raging homophobia in the trans narrative?
youâre an asshole op, and this creep in the middle is beyond words.

Unpopular opinion: I am never going to think a woman taking back her cheating man is a cute or inspirational love story
Transactivists really think that âcisâ people feel a connection with their gender. They really think that we feel our gender (and that it matches with what weâve been âassignedâ). I donât know how to tell you this but gender canât be felt as it was a natural part of your psyche, because gender is actually a false man-made creation. Gender is not internal, itâs external: it doesnât originate in your mind, it is systematically enforced. Gender is not a neutral and natural human trait like eye colour, height, etc: gender is the tool patriarchy created to produce and maintain womenâs oppression.
