âPodcastingâ
Blank is Emotional is on a hiatus, but not in any real dramatic way. Â I need to take stock of what Iâve made so far and come up with something more streamlined the next round of episodes. Â Editing has been hard for me, because I get stuck in a weird hole I canât get out of. Â Sometimes an hour of work editing equaled 5 minutes of a show, and it was always for a lightweight, fairly (quasi-intentionally) stupid podcast that would never reach many people.
Whenever it comes back, it will be different, because I need it to be. Â Itâll still be goofy and weird and dumb, as that is who I am as a person, but itâll be tighter. Â A permanent guest host or two would help, consistent segments, etc. Â Typical comedy podcast stuff, but I know I can make it funny.
I like what Iâve made so far.  Blank is Emotional has always been a practice run, something I can selfishly use to find my comedic voice, and it will continue to be.  Comedy is where Iâm heading, even if itâs in small little clubs at open mics until Iâm 40.  Itâs what interests me the most.  Thereâs been some Blank stuff Iâm lukewarm on, but Iâve also made a few episodes that Iâm really proud of (âSmall Talk on Scone Islandâ is my favorite, but I also really enjoy âEscapismâ and âShark Mating Seasonâ).
Thereâs still one episode left that Iâll put up sometime during the hiatus that is a definite extension of what the previous episodes were about, one I recorded with Ashley Rice (from âPerformance,â and itâs a super cute one about childhood crushes and etcetera).  So thereâs something, I guess.
:7)
