I don’t know if it was that clear to other people, but it just hit me now that the scene with Caine running for the free WiFi door is merged with a flashback of past him (baby red dot) accessing the brains and for the first time. Like a parallel. This is probably why Scratch appeared. It was the first time Caine brought the brain scans to life… and the time he formed a body.

Meanwhile, in the present, it’s Caine sort of accessing the WiFi. Maybe the shapes were him trying to guess the password? Anyways, it makes sense with how the dot ended up with brain scans and Scratch’s first appearance while present Caine ends up with unrestricted internet access and has the cast’s names in his pocket.
