The second reason being the main one. I have PMDD, and the only thing that treats it is birth control. That's it. Nothing else. While it mainly caused digestive issues, pain, and horrible periods, it also ruined my mental health. Whenever I'm off birth control for a while, my mental health just tanks. The closest I can to.... Ya know, offing myself, was when I was experiencing the worst time of my life, while off birth control. My mental health improved quite a bit, when I was back on it. So, yeah, I'm not entirely sure if I would've died without birth control maintaining my PMDD. But I know for a fact that my quality of life would be terrible.
