ALAYM with gelphie would actually not be sexy at all, it would be a comedy sequence, because after being told she’s beautiful Elphaba would do her vulnerable little “You don’t have to lie to me” and we’d pan over to Glinda actively salivating, at which point she’d trip over her own feet like five times on her way over to the bed and start waxing poetic about Elphaba being literally the most beautiful woman in the world besides herself and then she’d finish it off with “But seriously Elphie if I ever see this hideoteous sex cardigan again I’m setting it on fire.” Then they’d fight about the cardigan for ten minutes.

We find out the cardigan is deeply personal to Elphaba, given to her by a family of Snow Leopards she helped get to safety, and by insulting the cardigan, Glinda has not only insulted the family but also disrespected Elphaba’s role in the rebellion, and now mid-ALAYM Elphaba’s on a diatribe about the political state of Oz. She’s still wearing the sex cardigan during said diatribe. No sex has happened yet. It’s been 20 minutes.

Glinda gets huffy and defensive and dramatically flings herself down on the bed in a callback to pre-Popular saying she wasn’t TRYING to be insensitive she was just horny, and Elphaba accuses her of staring at her thighs while she’s trying to have a serious discussion about politics. They argue for another 45 minutes. Glinda is still salivating.

no but I think a lot about glinda post-melting discovering elphie is alive. and like I saw another post saying, she’d understand why she wasn’t told but she also would be devastated. she’d probably shut herself away for a while, away from elphie mainly, because she felt used and like a means to an end and undeserving of love.

and it would take a while for elphie to get through to her but once she did, glinda would just break in her arms and be really clingy for a while after. elphie would have to work hard to fix the mess and build up glinda’s trust in her again.
