A tier list of fandoms/blorbos/ships that you'll find here or that I just like a lot:
Tier 1: Absolute Hyperfixations
- IWTV/TVL and Vampire Chronicles. Favourites are Armand and Lestat, favourite ships are Devil's Minion and Lesmand (and yes also Loustat but I don't feel the need to post about them much)
- Mozart l'opéra rock and Amadeus 1984, and any other version of Mozart and/or Salieri I come across, including the irl historial people
Tier 2: Long time favourites aka past hyperfixations that always return at some point
- Good Omens. Favourite is Crowley and Aziracrow lives in my heart
- Doctor Who, favourite doctor is 10 (and 14). Love 13 and 15 also
- Sherlock Holmes. BBC show or any other version honestly. Johnlock!
- Elisabeth (the Musical). Rudolf and Elisabeth are both my favourites but my favourite ship is Todolf
-Tanz der Vampire. Love Herbert the most, also the Count. Favourite ships are Herbert/Alfred and Count/Alfred
Tier 3: Things I love but that somehow never really got to the point of hyperfixation or that were hyperfixations for a week or so
- Sandman, I adore Dream/Hob
- Our Flag Means Death. Edward Teach kickstarted my acceptance process of being non-binary AND a trans man :D
- Hamilton (was thinking if I should put that one tier higher cause i do listen to it and sing it a lot but I don't engage with the fandom on Hyperfixation level)
- Star Trek TNG. Data is my blorbo there <3
- Other musicals like: Rebecca, Les Miserables, Next to Normal, Rudolf Affaire Mayerling, Artus Excalibur, Dracula, La Legende du Roi Arthur, uuuuuuhm....others too :D

The horror-hilarity of Armand who said “they went mad and ended themselves” hunting his defected coven members down and shoving them into a fire with a wooden plank? Nah. Armand chopping Nicki’s hands off and then giving them back and then assisting his suicide? Pfftt. Armand punting Lestat off a tower and shattering every bone in his body because he had the audacity to come around begging for his blood after rejecting his companionship? Yawn. Armand slaughtering fledgling vampires left and right because he thinks they’re vermin? Meh.
Why would we include any of this book-canon and perfectly in character “gremlin” behavior when we could instead do racist torture porn and abuse apologia, character assassinate Armand, and narratively punish Louis because he “needs to be humbled” for some incomprehensible reason and “got off too easy” the last times he was abused and lynched? Three birds one stone, this is the gothic vampire horror show and they’re all monsters who do bad things, you just don’t get it you media illiterate dumbass! Lestat never did anything that was actually his fault btw, in fact he never really did anything at all. This is peak TV.
It lets people access scientific articles for free. This is dangerous. It helps the free flow of knowledge and reduces the competitive edge of all the people who worked really hard to have been born into a wealth.
Like, it’s literally a website where you can type in the DOI of an article and read it, without ever having to pay the publisher who exploited the author.
So, again, do not, under any circumstance, use Sci-Hub. I mean, can you imagine a world where knowledge is free and easily accessible to everyone? Even, y'know, poor people?
Libgen also has many books online, including textbooks, searchable by name, author, and ISBN. Can you imagine textbook companies not getting their hard-earned income from poor college students? Here is the link just so you make sure that you never accidentally stumble across this horrible, unethical website.
Oh, and while we’re talking about books, if you’ve managed to stay clear from Libgen, definitely don’t go to zlibrary, where you can also find a lot of textbooks, but unfortunately they’re completely free.
Another inside tip from academia: Those papers in really expensive journals that are effectively inaccessible to anyone not in a university network? Depending on the discipline it’s very likely that same paper is on a “preprint” server somewhere, with no access restrictions.
Like if you want to read basically any physics, math, or CS paper, arXiv.org will have you covered, because everyone uploads their papers there before submitting to a journal (and generally updates it after peer review). I know all of my papers are on there. This is such common practice that journals have it baked into their licensing agreements that authors retain the right to upload their work to these places.
So the next time you get hit with that paywall, you may not even need sci-hub, just click the arxiv link on google scholar instead.
if for some reason none of this works, the old “send a email nicely asking for the paper to the author” is always a good trick. remember most scientists hate the commercialisation of scientific knowledge
Many authors of papers are on ResearchGate! You can ask for papers there, if they don’t just post a copy to download. If they’re associated with a college, you can usually find their email addresses in the department directory, also.

I don't mean the violence itself, of course he's capable of that, he's a gremlin, but the reasons seem so wrong to me. Book spoilers under the cut.
It doesn't seem right to me that he would do such a thing to Louis and Lestat out of revenge or even desperation. And that's not me saying Armand isn't monstrous, he is and does monstrous things like they all do <3
But he isn't a cartoon villain! They made him a cartoon villain. In the books during/after book 3 he isn't framed as a villain at all anymore. I don't see how they'll go from 3x7 characterisation to achieve *that*
(Yes he cuts off Claudia's head which is the obvious parallel here and does the gruesome experimenting and claims he did it to "help" her die as someone in a woman's body at least, but yeah adding to that the rats in microwave and blender thingy, I'd say he largely did it out of scientific curiosity. Misguided as fuck of course and evil, but not led by personal reasons such as revenge.)
Oh and with not framed as a villain at all I mean in relation to the other characters, in the grand scheme all of them are bad people obviously and I love them for it haha

I am hoping to collect several thousand such posts, so that I have a decent sized dataset. I do not care what the post is about; if it's labeled as "mature content", I want to add it to my dataset.
If I get 10,000 posts in my dataset before August 31st 2026, I will post my preliminary findings then. I won't feel comfortable calling my findings "settled" before 2027, unless I get over 50,000 posts.
I am not talking about that unless I have results to share. That would bias the results.
I did write them down and I did share them with a trusted contact who can prove that I wrote them down the same day I made this post. (While I did so before I made this post, I am not sure they will be able to provide proof of that, because I did so on the same day.)

Technically no. There's no way to respond to this without introducing some bias in the results, and I don't want that. However, I do collect some data on a post as part of making it useful to me, and that data is easier to collect if the post is recent.
What if I request content label review on a post after I send it to you?
I need to see the mature content label to be able to use the post. Because the mature content label hides the content of the post, it is very hard to use a post that no longer has a mature content label. You could send me a screenshot, but people could use that to lie to me.
Basically, it's more work for you to make it usable to me.

I promise I'm not a transphobe and not doing this for transphobic reasons. You should still double-check that I'm not a transphobe for yourself, though. I am not sure that this study will have the useful effects you're hoping for; I am studying something specific, and it may not be what you hope.
I am so disappointed about how TVL ended. Need to rewatch it a few times but yeah I'm angry too about things but most of all I am afraid right now. That they will cancel the show because people (rightfully) criticise the season too much instead of making the next season better. I am scared of people leaving the show behind them on mass and the fandom falling apart cause finding this show is one of the things that saved my life probably in '24 and the thought of losing the fandom-
And I am sad. I shouldn't feel this kind of sad about my favourite show :(
