and in working with kids and talking to people who used to be kids, its like, sure kids soak up everything from around them. but its not equal either. everything you say sort offhandedly has sort of a dice roll on becoming a formative memory and pillar of their identity for years or a lifetime. so with my fucking luck any moment that i am petty or spiteful or shallow or cruel will be the moment that ends up sticking. so instead you have to just be reasonable and thoughtful and kind as best as you can, nonstop. its like that post abt how being a hero isnt like lifting cars overhead its like holding a small weight at arms length continuously 24/7

I haven't seen anyone talking about this and just wanted to make a quick post on here.

Akihiro Miwa recently passed away peacefully june 20th, and was not only a drag queen and a queer icon, but also the japanese voice of Arceus in the movie Arceus and the jewel of life, as well as the witch from Howl's moving castle and Moro from Princess Mononoke.

The two things I have found that actually do help me are a combination of "I'll fix it in post" (the first version doesn't have to be good, it can be polished up later) and "not everything I make has to be my best work."

🌸 Xie Lian can become anxious around lavish celebrations, it's like the applause still carries the echo of his people praising him  before divulging into demands for miracles he couldn't provide.

He will sometimes slip away at gatherings. Hua cheng normally finds him sitting alone. Xie lian isn't unhappy just overwhelmed.

🌸 When Xie Lian becomes very happy it sometime will trigger a fear in him. Joy has become so unfamiliar that his body treats it as dangerous.

He's always waiting for happiness to reveal it's price.

Hua Cheng will sit with Xie lian placing something warm around him, rubbing his back and will hum softly until Xie Lian is mentally ready to come back.

🌸 Xie Lian once asked if Hua Cheng would have still loved him if he had remained the White Clothed Calamity.

Hua Cheng doesn't says yes he tells him

"I would have loved you. I would also have stood against anything that would hurt you  even if that thing was you."

🌸 Hua Cheng is terrified of crowds surrounding Xie Lian. He masks it but the sight brings him back to that altar, the mob and hundreds of hands reaching towards one body.

🌸 Xie Lian hates being restrained yet he asks Hua Cheng to hold him tightly during nightmares. Chosen restraint feels different from helplessness. Hua Cheng will always ask

"Like this?"

Xie Lian will nod against his chest until the trembling stops.

This includes healing spells, healing potions, rings of regeneration, or other magics that cause the restoration of lost hit points, divine, arcane, primal, or otherwise.

This may have no impact on peasants, merchants, many bandits, or other characters in mundane professions who may never have encountered healing magics.

Conversely, the effect on high-level adventurers may be extremely messy.
