The Winds of Winter may be blowing in sooner than previously thought!

I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

War Pigs by Black Sabbath feat. Cake
Fight the Power; Public Enemy feat. Korn and Xzibit
Honey-Cider Roasted āNagraā with Mint
ā Then the centerpiece of the feast was revealed: a giant boar , glistening with sauce.ā (Eldest 107)
āEragon had never tasted anything like the boar. It was juicy, soft, and oddly spicyāas if the meat had been soaked in honey and ciderāwhich was enhanced by the mint used to flavor the porkā (Eldest 108)
Ah the Inheritance Cycle, or the Eragon Books as the series is more commonly known. Though not quite the cultural phenomenon that Harry Potter and Narnia were ( and lacking in a decent film adaptation, to boot), these Tolkienesque tales of a powerful dragon-mounted sorcerer enthralled me through much of my childhood and continue to today.Ā Ā
What Iāve also come to notice is that these books are woefully lacking in fan-recreations of the food described within. A damn shame, if I must say so myself. Well, today, Iām ready to fix that. Journey with Eragon, Saphira, and their dwarvish companion, Orik to the stone city of Tarnag, where the dwarves have prepared us the most distinguished of dishes.
Nagra, in the seriesā second book, Eldest, is described as a wild boar the size of a horse; a dangerous beast to tackle in a hunt. It is for this reason why Nagra is only served to those considered by the dwarves to possess great valor. Though normal-sized boars exist in the real world, wild boar meat can only be found at specialty butchers, or, you could hunt it yourself. As I like to keep my food affordable, Iāve replaced the lean meat of a boar with the leanest cut I could find on its domesticated cousin; pork tenderloin.Ā
Tools:
Tupperware (for marinating)
1 Fork
1 Steak Knife
Cast Iron/ Oven-Safe Skillet
Spatula
Oven mitts
Glazing brush
Ingredients:
(for 6 servings)
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 and ¾-2lb Pork Tenderloin
Salt and pepper to taste
Marinade:
1/3 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
2.5 Tbs Honey
3 Cloves Garlic (Minced or grated)
1 tsp Fresh Mint
Dash of Onion Powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
Glaze:Ā
Juice of 1 Lemon
Zest of 1 Lemon
1.5 Tbsp Fresh Mint
Garnish: 18 leaves fresh mint.
Method:
Cut tenderloin into 3 evenly sized pieces. Sprinkle with a little salt and pepper. Mix all marinade ingredients in a tupperware. Stab meat with a fork a few times (this allows the marinade to better soak into the meat). Place meat in tupperware. Close tupperware and give it a shake so the marinade coats the meat. Let meat marinade for 30 minutes to an hour.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. While the oven heats up, put your olive oil in your oven-safe skillet and turn your burner to a medium heat. Once the skillet is hot, Place the meat in the skillet and cook for 3 minutes, turning with your spatula the whole way through. Once your three minutes are up and the oven is ready, slip your oven mitts on and place your meat, skillet and all into the oven. Cook the meat for 45 minutes or until the internal temperature is 145 degrees. While meat is roasting, glaze the meat even ten minute or until you run out of glaze.
For your glaze, grate the outer skin (or zest) off your lemon. Then juice the lemon. Combine zest and juice with other glaze ingredients and set aside.Ā
After your 45 minutes are up, take your meat out and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. Serve the pork to your esteemed guests garnished with three leaves of mint per serving of meat.
BONUS RECIPE:
Drunken Mushrooms
You might me wondering what that little purple pile is sitting next to the corn. Well, according to Eldest, mushrooms are one of the favored foods of the dwarves, so in their honor, I have made what I termĀ ādrunken mushroomsā.
Tools:
(Corn and broccoli and totally optional)
Cutting Board
Knife.
Pan
Spatula.
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 cup/packageĀ Edible mushrooms of any kind (I used baby bella in this but I can totally see this recipe with something more exotic like shiitake or oyster mushrooms. If you happen to be a mushroom forager who knows what heās doing, have at it.)
1/3 cup cheap red wine (donāt waste the good stuff in recipes, folks)
1 tsp Rosemary
Kosher Salt and pepper to taste
Method:
Slice your mushrooms into half-inch pieces. Put you olive oil in your pan and cook your mushrooms at a medium high heat till soft (about 2.5-3 minutes). Add your wine and spices and continue cooking until the wine has evaporated. Serve immediately.

TheĀ āTatsumiā Burger
The World Ends with you is a truly fascinating game. Though in my opinion it can get hampered by its own controls, the difficulty, as well worth the story and frankly kickass music youāre given. Trapped in what I can only describe as the afterlifeās version of the Hunger Games, Neku Sakuraba competes with other dead souls for the chance at resurrection. If he loses, he faces erasure from existence. But aside from skill, tenacity, and a wide array of magical pins, what else does a player of the Reaperās Game need to win?
Food!
Yes, even the souls of the dead get hungry every once in a while. While some of these souls prefer fruits, coffee, or even good olā Japanese ramen, today Iāll be cooking up a more familiar treat. Enter the āTatsumiā Burger. As described in game, ā The ultimate burger, made with only the finest ingredients.Ā Even the pickiest of foodies will shut up and chow down.āĀ
With that description in mind, Iāve decided on a fusion of East and West, a burger bedecked in the flavors of Japanese street food. As far asĀ āfineā ingredients go, I like to keep my food in the realm of the affordable, therefore I have interpenetrated āfineā to mean somewhat on the healthy side. (I use the termĀ āsomewhatā because how healthy can mayo be?)
This recipe makes 4 burgers
Ā Tools:
Mixing bowl
Skillet
Spatula
Small bowl (For beating egg)
Fork
Ingredients:
Aioli:
1 ½ Tbsp lite mayo
1 tsp ponzu sauce
1 tsp tonkatsu sauce
½ tsp garlic powder
1 tsp rice vinegarĀ
pinch of bonito flakes
Sriracha sauce to taste
Sesame seeds to taste
Meat:
1lb 93% lean ground turkey
2 Tbsp lite mayo
1 cup crumbled snacking seaweed
1 Tbsp flour
1 Tbsp Panko bread crumbs (these can be found in the Asian section of any grocery store)
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 large egg (beaten)
salt and pepper to taste
Additional ingredients:
Whole wheat burger buns (optional)
Sesame seeds
Bonito flakes
Katsu sauce
1 tbsp peanut oil
1.5 tsp sesame oil
Method:Ā
Begin by cracking your egg into your small bowl and whisking it with your fork until it looks like this:
And pour into your large bowl, like so.Ā Add your mayo, seaweed, flour, panko, sesame oil, garlic, and salt and pepper and knead with your hands until all ingredients are incorporated. NowĀ take some extra flour and coat your hands in it. Form your mixture into to four evenly sized patties.
Add your sesame and peanut oils to the skillet and heat the skillet to medium heat. When the skillet is hot enough, add your patties. Cook them for five minutes per each side. Remove from pan.
Aioli: Combine aioli ingredients until well blended.
To present: Toast your bun until slightly browned. Place patty on bottom bun. Place top bun next to burger face-up. Squeeze a swirl of sriracha onto top bun. Spoon some aioli onto patty. Squeeze a wavy line of katsu sauce onto burger. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and bonito flakes. You can also go bunless if youāre counting carbs. (Bok choy and avocados are optional)

Best and Worst Live Action Anime Adaptations
https://geekculture.co/the-best-and-worst-live-action-anime-movies-ever-made/
āWhile decent and noteworthy titles do exist, those are mostly few and beyond, with some better to be left forgotten, such as M. Night Shyamalanās Avatar screenplay and the majorly catastrophic Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Where anime is concerned, these instances happen rather frequently as well.ā
