I just saw a TikTok where a guy was saying (and I quote): "gym girls are too masculine. I’m not talking about your gym girls who do Pilates or Yoga, or the girls who go to the gym for like 30 minutes and do legs. I’m talking about the gym girls who work out their arms like three to four times a week, those types of girls. I just hate girls who work out their arms, like, we don’t want that. I’ve dealt with like a bunch of gym girls who look innocent and you start dating them and then you realise they’re fucking psycho and masculine as fuck, and I’m just not gonna do it anymore.”

Now, before I say anything, everyone is allowed to have preferences. But this made my blood boil and I was hoping it was just a joke at first but it clearly wasn’t.

Let's be clear, saying you hate girls who work out their arms says way more about you than it does about us. You’re intimidated by the fact that some of us have bigger biceps than you? How incredibly insecure of you, little boy. If being muscular makes us a “psycho” what does that say about all muscular men? Are you going to call all muscular men “psycho” too, or does that only apply to women?

I don’t know where men get the audacity to think everything we do is for them. We don't have to be petite and "innocent" and we certainly don’t have to fit into your fucked up ideas of what a woman should look like. We're not training for you. We’re training for ourselves, and the fact that you think we are proves what a self centred prick you are.

This just makes me want to train even harder and get more muscular. Muscles aren't exclusive to men, and being muscular doesn't mean you're masculine. If our biceps intimidate you, just admit it. Also, the word "innocent" is a big red flag here because what you're really saying is that you want women to be weak and vulnerable. You fucking sicko. The fact that men like this exist is exactly why we need to keep celebrating and empowering women. Your body is for you, and no one else.

Then gets defensive.

Then angry at the women who “tempted” him.

Then the next time he gets horny he opens up his laptop . . .
