I’m so proud of senshi for making it so far in the tumblr sexyman poll. I think it’s so beautiful that tumblr has reached a point where a short fat hairy bearded man is the pinnacle of sexuality for a large swath of this userbase. it’s like when you see before & after pictures of a rainforest recovering from deforestation. nature is healing and we can fight god
I hope he wins so someone will have to explain to ryoko kui what a tumblr sexyman is
I have to say I forgot the onceler’s thing was cutting down trees when I made my metaphor.
Your father use to roleplay as a tape worm for my pleqsure
hope he did a good job at least. Didn't embarrass the whole family.
He strutted his shit kinda
i was trying to find this post earlier (duck duck go doesnt find posts well) and i—
It is actually a huge red flag when people list their goldstone or opalite pieces as "natural." These are glass gemstones, completely man-made, and anyone trying to sell them as a "natural" stone is either lying to customers or doesn't know enough about how their own products are being sourced and produced.
I was once in a tourist trap adjacent rock shop and spotted some little pieces of very pretty blue aventurine (goldstone) glass. (There is also a natural rock called aventurine. That's an entirely different thing.) By sheer coincidence I had been reading about the history and production of aventurine recently, so I excitedly picked up a piece and started telling my friend about it. It's cool stuff! Metal oxides are mixed into the glass at extremely high temperatures, then kept in a low oxygen environment, allowing tiny crystals of metal to precipitate out throughout the glass. The type of oxide determines the color. Copper makes the golden-reddish classic goldstone, while cobalt, manganese, and chromium make blue, purple, and green. (The latter three are all typically extremely dark, and "blue" aventurine often looks like an incredibly deep black.) Though the process we know was invented in Venice in the 17th century, examples of aventurine dating back as far as the 13th or 12th have been found in Persia, where it was apparently used to make Islamic prayer/protection amulets.
Anyway I'm in the middle of yammering about this when I realize the woman at the checkout counter, who I believe also owns the place, is glaring daggers at me. I am autistic. I am not good at noticing or correctly identifying death glares. This was obvious enough for me to pick up. I falter to an awkward stop, midsentence, and there is a moment of dead silence.
Then she snaps, "well the copper is natural. It has the natural properties of copper."
(Again, it was blue, so it actually had "the natural properties" of cobalt, whatever that means. Mostly it is glass, and has the properties of glass.)
I wasn't insulting the aventurine! I was being very enthusiastic about it! If anything I was doing an impromptu sales pitch, pointing out how the irregularly distributed glittering crystals in the blue-black glass created a sense of depth that made it look like stars in a low-light night sky, talking about how difficult it is to make and what an interesting history it has! But she was so mad.
Aside from being kinda scummy, it's just sad. Aventurine glass is such a cool material, and it's beautiful. People should be able to appreciate it for what it is.
"i know this show was made for children but i enjoy it too." > awesome and cool. watch whatever you want forever.
"i know it LOOKS like it was made for children but its SECRETLY for us. calling it a kids show is an insult cause kids could never understand these THEMES and EMOTIONS. we're the TRUE fans." > i dont think i trust your opinions. you seem lame as fuck.

Pentheus, the King of Thebes, was torn apart limb-from-limb (sparagmos) by his own mother, Agave, and her sisters in a Dionysian frenzy for defying the god Dionysus.

"They've got nobody in the Odyssey?"
"No I'm saying they don't got nobody."
"Nobody's there?"
"Nobody's not there!"
"So everyone's there?"
"Everybody but nobody!"
whenever i see people call random edgy but not-at-all harmful artists "degens" i would like to refer them to the first sentence of wikipedia's "degenerate art" article
Reminder that this is the type of art the nazis were referring to:
(Kandinsky)
You cannot "well but I'M not referring to that kind of art, I only mean Dirty Pictures" your way out of this. You are being harmful and need to stop, not rationalise why it's okay for YOU to be doing it. You need to understand
censorship violates the universal human right of free expression and freedom of speech.
fiction is not reality. Fictional characters are not real people.
if someone SAYS a work of fiction inspired them to do bad things, that is not the work of fiction's fault. The person who did bad things is STILL at fault, because they have free will and must be assumed to understand the consequences of their actions.
discomfort is not harm. If a piece of art makes you uncomfortable, that's actually fine. That's the POINT of certain pieces of art. You need to learn to tolerate discomfort.
It is not in fact the government's job to enforce a set of morals on people. That violates people's universal human right to freedom of religion and creed.
There is no such thing as "just a little bit of" censorship.
It does not matter what kind of art it is, when you use the term degenerate to refer to art you don't like, you are using a word that is deeply rooted in bigotry. A word used to target marginalized groups.
