there are other factors involved but i think keeping my hair braided 90% of the time is making it grow faster. either that or i get so used to keeping it braided that whenever i brush it out i'm surprised by its actual length

there was a post like a million billion years ago that was talking about how the phrase "in poor taste" had widely faded out of public usage and the surge of people calling everything problematic and trying to find reasons for why any given thing was like regressive, oppressive, upholding harmful ideologies, capable of causing real world harm, etc etc etc could be neatly sidestepped by those three little words. and i think about that post a lot sometimes

ppl who attempt to use psychology words to make their arguments more smarter are so silly. like girl. not only are the diagnostic criteria for different mental illnesses overlapping to the point where two people with identical symptoms of identical severity can go to the same doctor and get two different diagnoses bc of the doctor's (+ the system's) perception of black people, women, people who already have disability diagnoses, etc, but also like pulling words out of your butt to describe patterns of unhealthy behavior is so funny to me. "i think jordan petersen has orthorexia and slash or is promoting orthorexic behavior in his followers" okay well i think it would be a thousand times more useful to discuss WHAT he's doing, HOW he's doing it, and WHY it's dangerous than to use a made up word that people made up but didn't make up well enough to get it into the big book of made up brain words to describe his behavior.
