Yeah that fucking settles it, this team is actively sabotaging Max. What do you mean he TOLD them that his engine wasn’t working properly, they ACKNOWLEDGED there was something wrong with the engine, and they still didn’t bother to do anything about it?
It’s the fact that they’re so shameless about it now too. They’re not even pretending not to know there’s anything wrong. They basically just told Max that they’re going to intentionally leave him out to dry with a shit car, probably the same shit deployment as yesterday, and an engine that’s on the verge of killing itself.
The fact that this useless fucking team has the audacity to ask Max to commit them is so laughable I genuinely might split a lung. They have done NOTHING but betray him over and over all season while doing everything they can to coddle and protect his teammate, and he’s supposed to swear loyalty to them? Where’s the fucking loyalty to him then, huh?
Genuinely this is why people like Mekies shouldn’t be in power. I honestly think he let his ego get the best of him. He convinced himself because of Red Bull’s turnaround after the summer break that he “saved” the team, and it’s completely blinded him to his own (numerous) shortcomings. Maybe he isn’t 100 percent responsible for Red Bull’s downfall, but his arrogance is actively accelerating it as we speak. He’s so fucking full of himself that he would rather screw Max over than admit he could ever be wrong about anything.

Also to reiterate what others have been saying, something needs to give with the situation between GP and the rest of the Red Bull team. GP is the best engineer on the grid besides Bono, and there's no denying how important he is to Max, but he's also not psychic and there's only so much he can do if he isn't being given all the information. If the team doesn't trust GP not to leak secrets to McLaren (although I struggle to think what secrets would even be worth leaking anyway), then they need to let him go and just have Simon Rennie start working as Max's engineer full-time.
Will it hurt to lose the GP-Max partnership? Of course. They've been working together for over a decade, and GP is like a mix between a father and an older brother to Max. But it's already coming to an end in the near future anyway, and more importantly, we've reached a point where Max is being actively endangered, more so than he already is by the nature of the sport, that is. Wache won't share things with GP, so GP can't give Max adequate information about the state of his car, and, well, we saw exactly what that can lead to yesterday. At this point, never mind anything to do with his race results. Max has a family that needs him, and I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that if things continue the way they are with Red Bull, it's not a guarantee that he'll make it through the rest of the season still being able to make it home to them. Especially not with tracks like Baku and Singapore still coming up.
And if the team doesn't want to let GP go fully just yet? Then they need to reinstate him to his original role. Trust that he isn't going to leak Red Bull secrets, and let him do his job for Max as he should be allowed to. But one way or another, something needs to change because this situation is not viable.
I honestly think Silverstone is going to be the straw that finally broke the camel’s back for Max. I’ve been on the fence about whether I want him to leave Red Bull just because there are still so many unknowns when it comes to the trajectories of other teams, but at this point fuck it. He needs to leave by the end of this season, if not to another team then to permanent GT3 racing. Yes, I know he said he plans to be in F1 next year, but I don’t think he envisioned things spiraling this badly with the team.
At this point it’s not even a question of whether Red Bull can build a competitive car again. They’ve shown over and over again that they couldn’t give less of a fuck about Max if they tried. They force him to test setups that always make his car slower and pretend it’s because he’s “their best sensor” while blatantly ignoring his feedback. Even when he EXPLICITLY says they need to change the car or else there’s no point in racing, they force him to stick with the same setup and then can’t even be bothered to come up with an excuse for why they did it. They don’t stand up for him in the media. The reliability problems always seem to fall on his side of the garage because Hadjar has all the competent staff while Max has been left with scraps, and their incompetency has now caused him to have THREE major crashes caused by mechanical failures. They stole the one real chance he’s had at a win this season by fucking up his strategy. The social media team gassed the hell out of Hadjar’s podium in Monaco (that he didn’t even deserve and in the end didn’t even get to keep, mind you), but Max’s podiums in Canada and Austria barely got a mention by comparison. Even Mekies’ apologies have somehow gotten worse because at least in the beginning, he used to apologize directly to Max over the radio. Now he just does it as a statement to the media. Not to mention it’s all just empty words anyway because nothing ever changes.
And despite all of this, Max has continued to give his all for the team. He drives the wheels off his car every race no matter how big of a shitbox they give him. There’s been something wrong with his car at every single race this year, and only twice has he actually called the team out for the way they’ve handled his race weekends. The only thing he hasn’t done yet is promise to stay with Red Bull next year, but with the way they’ve treated him, why would he? Most of them don’t even act like they care. As annoyed as I’ve been at Isack for how desperate the team has been to protect him, he’s also been one of the only Red Bull people who have actually stood firmly on Max’s side once in a while, but he’s a second-year driver so it’s not as if he’s going to have a lot of influence to change things. As for everyone else? I truly have no words to describe them. Max has given this team far more than they deserve, and they’ve repaid him by betraying his trust over and over.
I genuinely think that Max should just switch to endurance racing full time. Fuck anything to do with F1 at this point. Sure, his luck in GT3 hasn’t exactly been amazing this year either, but at least over there he’s treated like he’s actually wanted.
It’s just so infuriating and disheartening to see what’s happening. Max is having the prime of his career sabotaged before our very eyes by the very team that he’s dedicated over a decade of his life to, and everyone around him either doesn’t care or can’t do anything about it.
Honestly the most impressive thing to me is how long he was holding off George and Lewis and his insane fights with them in a slower car. Like Isack is in his second year, so its fair that he is offf pace- The most impressive thing to me was that Max was reporting things like massive snaps and still was able to do what he did against the others
Max did absolutely amazing and I'm so proud of him. He's right. Red Bull didn't deserve the podium, but Max did.
Never ever doubt that Max is the greatest racing driver of all time. Never doubt that everything he's done this season has been a miracle and a credit to him. Never doubt Max.
It didn’t make his love for P lesser. It was just different.
Even after only a few months, he couldn’t imagine his life without his girls. But more than that, he couldn’t imagine ever letting anything bad happen to them.
Which is why, “I am confused sometimes.”
“About what?”
“He used to say that I would someday understand, That when I had my own children I would feel the same. But it is the opposite.” He frowns down at Lily who had now fallen asleep in his arms. She did that a lot. Always sleeping. He had missed that with P. He was glad not to miss this now.
“Maybe there is something wrong with me.”
“Max.” He looks up at the unexpected harshness in GP’s voice. “There is nothing wrong with you. There never has been. It’s him who has something wrong. You’re right. You’ll always feel this way. You’ll never want anything bad to ever happen to her. You’ll always want to keep her safe. That’s normal.”
“Oh.” He’s not sure what else to say. Then, “That’s good.”

so ive been meaning to do this poll for a while because my hypothesis is that seattle is the most Tumblr city, likely in the entire world. tumblr has a huge american majority userbase obviously, but just for comparison going forward, only 0.22% of the american population lives in seattle. as of this reblog, this poll is showing 4% of respondents are seattleites. given, this isnt scientific at all, because my blog just has a lot of seattle connections and seattle followers, but it's still an impressive bias
kimi is so busy daydreaming about pasta that he gets away slow
max/lewis battle ends with max in the lead and then despite complaining about everything (validly) max maintains his pos with stellar defense
everybody claps and cheers and oh what's this? the fia comes out and says wow we've seen it all. and we don't need any more sprints. bye bye sprints forever.
when i say these cars have neutralized the greats of this sport i am not doing it to joke and haha giggle giggle about it. they have plucked out anything special they can do and the bare minimum gets the average driver ahead with the better engine
you can agree or disagree about charles but you can't take away the fact that he is one of the most remarkable qualifying drivers this sport has ever seen and he is acknowledging he can't do much. what does that say about the state of this sport?

One thing you can always count on is that whenever someone tries to claim that Lewis should have won in 2021, CultLH fans will crawl out of their holes and start yapping about “where was all this years ago”, and honestly you really just have to laugh at the delusion of it all.
You want to know why people are “speaking out” now but were silent when it actually happened? It’s because they don’t actually believe what they’re saying. Everyone knows Max was the better driver that season. Hell, Mercedes themselves didn’t think it was worth protesting the results of the final race. The only reason anyone is talking about it now is because it’s a quick, easy way to get clicks, and also probably because they woke up pissed off about Max Verstappen’s general existence, as many of them often do.
One of these days, I'll figure out a better way to organize these, but today is not that day.
– Max finished P2, which very well could have been P1 if not for Red Bull fumbling the strategy yet again, and once again proved why he's the best this sport has to offer. On one hand, the RBR strategy team deserves to go to hell for throwing away his first win of the season; on the other hand, I'll take being disappointed over P2 over having to settle for P7-8 any day. Seriously though, a conversation needs to be had about the strategy team because they took so many unnecessary risks when it came to Max's weekend.
– Despite the poor strategy, Max's pit crew deserves credit for their performance. Considering most of Max's pit stops have been...for lack of a better term, pretty mid this season, the fact that the crew was able to lock in and deliver two sub-2.5s stops is impressive. Hopefully, this resurgence carries over into Silverstone and beyond.
– The Red Bull upgrades seem like they've done their job so far, well, except for the fact that the car decided it wanted to try to kill Max again. I'm still not entirely sure if the rear wing failure in Q3 was due to a fundamental issue with the upgrades themselves, a freak accident, or a consequence of changing so much of the car in such a short amount of time. From what I remember, the team did change the rear wing right before qualifying, so that might have played a role.
– On a related note, it's kind of funny how desperate some people are for the crash to be Max's fault despite it being confirmed by several sources that it was a mechanical issue. As if Red Bull wouldn't IMMEDIATELY throw Max under the bus if it had been his fault. It's not as if they've done a great job of having his back this season. Not to mention Max himself would have admitted if he had made a mistake. You almost have to feel sorry for those types of fans, really. They want so badly to bring Max down to their drivers' level that they'll believe anything that makes him look bad, no matter how illogical it is.
– The crash aside, we really need to have a conversation about whatever the fuck Red Bull's quali strategy for Max was. Not only did they barely leave enough fresh sets of softs for him to make it through quali, but they decided to waste a fresh set on Q1 instead of just having him run Q1 on mediums or used softs. Genuinely, what was the thinking there? It's not as if there was ever a chance of him being knocked out in Q1. And don't even get me started on how they almost got him knocked out in Q2 because they had him do one single flying lap on used softs at the beginning of the session despite it being obvious how big the track evolution was.
– George was finally able to convert a pole to a win for the first time since Australia (in a standard Grand Prix race, I'm aware that he converted his sprint poles in China and Canada to wins), which means he is now back to being P2 in the WDC standings and is only 40 points behind Kimi after being 68 points back just a couple of races ago. Will he be able to carry this form into future races? Who knows? But this goes to show what I've been saying all along, which is that it's too early in the season to go around crowning anyone the 2026 WDC just yet. It's also why I feel like some people have been counting their chickens before they hatch regarding any potential Max-to-Mercedes moves for 2027.
– Ferrari were once again back to doing Ferrari things with their strategy. I guess they may have taken it a little too seriously when Hamilton said to "remember who you are". Both Ferrari drivers ended up losing positions, although granted, that was partially inflated by the fact that they both started higher up the order than they would have if Max hadn't crashed because of that rear wing failure, which meant that Kimi had to abort his final flying lap. Without that, the Ferraris would most likely have been starting P4 and P5 and finishing P5 and P8. Still not a great day, but better than the P2 and P3 to P5 and P8 they ended up with instead.
– Not to beat a dead horse, but we need to address how quickly the FIA are willing to throw driver safety out the window if it means a bit of entertainment. The decision not to immediately wave the double-yellow flags after Max's crash was beyond stupid. Yes, George lifted for the single yellow, but he was still traveling very, very fast around that corner. If he had made a mistake or suffered a mechanical failure of his own that caused him to spin toward the wall, then Max would have basically been a sitting duck. Fortunately, that didn't happen and the situation ended about as well as it could have, but this could have easily been a much bigger disaster than it was.
– At one point, the timing tower showed Lando dropping multiple positions in succession, but the broadcast wasn't showing him at the time, and this was before the first round of pit stops, so no idea what was going on there.
– Admittedly, I wasn't really paying attention to Oscar's race, but he finished P4 and ahead of Lando, so it seems like he did well for himself.
– The fact that Max is already being asked about a potential WDC comeback when he's still 98 points behind Kimi and driving a car that likes to make surprise attempts on his life is hilarious, but really, who else would be getting questions like that? Keep in mind that the current reigning champion is ahead of Max in the standings and isn't being asked about his odds of retaining his title, and it took Lewis being P2 for a short while for anyone to even entertain the idea of him winning his eighth. It really just goes to show who the current GOAT of the sport is.
(To be continued because this got a bit longer than I meant it to)

and the funniest thing out of all is the moment max got p2 (not even a win), THE OFFICIAL MEDIA is asking about his chances for the TITLE FIGHT. right in front of mercs salad. max is the 7th in the standings btw. 7th.
Only Max Verstappen could be P7 in the standings in a car that isn’t even 100 percent reliable and still somehow be asked about the championship fight.
There are levels to this and Max is several above the pack.
