Despite being inspired by Catholicism, the Aedric clergy appear not to be subject to rules of celibacy! Evidence for this follows as such:

1. In Skyrim, two priests of Mara are married and expecting a child. This makes sense, as Mara is the goddess of parenthood, so why would celibacy be a rule for her followers?

2. Dibella is also a fertility god, specifically celebrating the beauty of the body and is often alluded to in sex. Sex positivity seems to be celebrated among at least two of the Aedra, and there’s no evidence against sex positivity with the other Aedra.

3. Following real life counterparts, Catholic celibacy was not enforced or instated for many centuries. It was only until clergy with high authority (such as bishops, cardinals, and popes) started electing their own sons into office did celibacy start to be enforced. No one likes nepotism in regards to authoritative power. However, we do not see clergy holding much political power within the Empire; priests exist, yes, but there is little implication that there is a ruling church body behind the election of these priests, implying that the Imperial clergy does not have much immediate political power (at least in what we are shown in-game). Therefore, the issue of nepotism is greatly lessened, and would not be great enough of a reason to enforce celibacy among Aedric clergy.
