Chapter summary: Now that Adrien has passed his first challenge in the learning of magic, it's time to get to the real work. As his first real lesson, Valerion teaches him about defense magic. Apprentice sorcerer vs basket of paper balls. Go!

Author's retrospective: This part focuses on Adrien's learning of magic, for the ones who enjoy that kind of conceptual exploration.

Though I admit that if today you asked me to rewrite this and the next chapter, I would trim them a lot: forgive me if this part meanders a bit, please have patience and keep reading!

Also this is the part that most benefitted from the font swap, as the previous lettering was really way too small in some parts.
