The Gifts of Darkness - Chapter 9: Little flames (2019-20) 29 pages ⁘ 4262 words (~25 minutes)

Chapter summary: Adrien's magical apprenticeship focuses on learning restraint and patience. These are things that come difficult for him. Instead of learning how to make an incredible fireball, he needs to learn how to make a little flame - and be content with it.

Author's retrospective: I prefer how I handled this part about the elemental magic compared to the previous arc about the defense magic - each part is shorter, more focused, and weaved through other plot events.
