As someone with minimal knowledge on the Backrooms lore, I really enjoyed the movie and I thought it was great. Honestly even if it was just two hours of people wandering around that set I’d be happy, it was so cool seeing a Backrooms that was a physical location the characters were walking around in.
But I also thought the characters were super interesting (ALWAYS a fan of a flawed protagonist), the scares were tasteful, I actually really enjoyed the slow, “”””boring””” moments where you just get to take in the environment with the characters.
My only main issue has nothing to do with the movie itself, which is UNFORTUNATELY that I ran into the same issue everyone else is having. The people in my theatre would not shut the fuck up if it would save their lives. People were playing shit on their phones, talking the whole time, the people directly in front of me kept screaming and rocking their chairs back fully so it almost hit my knees several times whenever something happened just like…holy how are you not embarrassed. Genuinely.

personally I am of the opinion that vegans who are like “the way our food system currently works under capitalism on a large scale is exceptionally cruel to all animals including humans and is not sustainable, so I’m doing what I can to make the most ethical choices available to me about what I eat and encourage others to do the same” are generally very reasonable people who I agree with in spades. but vegans who seem to think human beings are not themselves animals who are ultimately also part of the food chain but instead some kind of other paternalistic higher entity that can never engage in ethical and sustainable hunting practices (and especially the fringe I’ve seen who think other carnivorous animal predators are also evil and need to be eliminated) are people I regard as foolish at best if not actively anti-indigenous and racist

I think when a sub says "you can do whatever you want to me" what they're actually wanting is to not make decisions anymore, and they think by saying this they can foist the decision making off on the dom without having to do any of the work beforehand. But unfortunately to get to the Not Making Choices part of kink you do in fact have to make a Lot Of Choices beforehand and communicate those choices to your partner.
