The results of the 2024 clowngames pronoun tournament are in. My new pronouns are We/Us/Our (royal). Please use those pronouns when referring to me from now on.
Example sentences: "I invited clowngames to hang out but We said Our energy was too low and We needed to rest. We said to go on and hang out without Us, so that's what we're doing now."
These pronouns were voted on in a free and fair election. For most people, misgendering them is transphobic. For me, it's anti-democracy.

Tbh I have a lot of sympathy for women who say they hate men. Like I understand why they say that and all. But I’m also black and it’s really fucking wild how I can’t even say “I hate white people” for very similar reasons.
Anon sent a follow-up ask which I'll add here for the complete message:
Like yeah, am I fucked up? Yes. Do I need to work through the trauma of dealing with white supremacy so that I don’t take it out on my white peers yes. Am I angry that I literally won’t say it to any of my white friends out of fear of retaliation? Yes. And like. Yeah.
It's a nuanced subject that I have a history of weighing in on and then avoiding weighing in on. But I also want to make it clear that the context in which this ask was sent was even more complicated:
I wrote a piece of 2nd-person microfiction about Jax's mother from The Amazing Digital Circus in which I referenced her hating men, and also hating "weak" men. And I think it's really important that in her case what's happening is a seemingly-contradictory combination of hating men because of patriarchal trauma and still fully buying into patriarchal ideals that produce those men.
Jax's mother is an abuse victim and an abuser. Her husband was the type of man the patriarchy trained her to want; exactly the type of person most likely to traumatize her into hating men. Because she was so conditioned by the patriarchy, she punished her son* for failing to live up to the very patriarchal archetype that she was afraid of. Jax/Lee was damned if they do, damned if they don't.
I don't even think this is a case of "I hate men, so I'm going to take it out on my male child." Because, like, the majority of women I see saying they hate men are most likely not going to resent their own son if they had one. That's maybe a problem that exists, but I've never seen it.
The problem with Jax's mom is that she can't imagine a version of men she doesn't hate. If you're not an abuser, you're a failed man (and thus deserving of ridicule), and if you're a real man, you're an abuser (and thus deserving of scorn). She perpetuates the patriarchy just as firmly as her husband.
Imagine hating men, and hating "weak" men even more, and taking it out on your son because if he's not one he's the other. And he finally tells you he's not a man at all, and that he'd rather be a woman, and you laugh, because that's the most pathetic weak man shit you've ever heard, so you start making fun of him but the more you think about it the nicer that sounds; a daughter instead of a son. He'd make a better woman, anyway, and maybe the two of you could even grow closer if you just stopped pushing him to be something he obviously wasn't ever going to be. So you go to hug him, and he pushes you so hard you hit the counter and the floor and are knocked out cold, and you never fucking see him again.
You've gotta feel like you were so close to finally understanding him. And now you've got hospital bills and he's gone and maybe it's what you deserve. Maybe you failed him. Maybe you poured all your love into the wrong vessel and he never got a drop. And you think, was that hug the first time you touched him since his dad left? But now you're thinking about his dad, and you're thinking, maybe he responded violently to affection because that's who he is. Maybe it wasn't you at all.
the thing is that every time they invent a new thing that everybody has to be able to do to get along in society, that also involves making some people disabled who weren't before, because they can't do the thing. and they never could do the thing, but it didn't used to be a disability.
driving a car. making a phone call. navigating the internet. getting a mortgage. you know? they keep adding new things that everybody has to be able to do or else there's something wrong with you. well maybe there's something wrong with driving a car. maybe it's a hideous activity. did they ever think of that

Oh, and in the meantime, we’ll do the Sonic Eraser Poll since it’s just three songs. Fair warning though, the music of this game is like, REALLY BAD. Like genuinely, it may hurt your ears. So be cautious when you look it up.
okay so, guy at work, who i find out afterwards is famous at this place for being a sex pest, comes up and starts with what i also learn is his favorite opener to conversations where he’s going to be a sex pest, namely: “Do you know where the term ‘blow job’ comes from?”
and here he made his first fatal error. his moment of hubristic sex pesting. because of course i know where the term blow job comes from, i love learning about sex and the history of sexual terms! i know so much about oral sex that i could write a book on it!
his second error: approaching a little autistic freak with what he intended to be an uncomfortable sex question that would make me feel weird and gross. Friends, Romans, Countrymen, I Have Never Misjudged A Man’s Intentions So Incredibly In My Life. because i did not realize he was trying to harass me. because i love talking about sex facts, albeit not usually at work. unless. someone prompts me. my coworkers are the kind of people who are generally online enough to know terms, but not exactly what they mean, and they realized they could ask me a while back and get good answers without the resulting awkwardness because i do not experience shame. i am primed to answer questions like the one he has proposed.
So I Answered It.
and well, really, what happened is that I began answering it, then realized the answer required a bit more context. I mean, you can’t just say “oh, well, the term first appears in writing in the 1940s” without first explaining that ‘blow’ by itself already had sexual connotations for centuries, and then, really, are we talking about the origin of the term or the origin of the act. and well we have a ton of literature and art depicting fellatio throughout human history, did you know a lot of it was men performing it on other men? oh, that reminds me, there are a multitude of latin words for oral sex performed on penises, and hold on let me quote you the entirety of catullus 16 from memory and explain it’s fascinating insights into the roman world of homosexuality-
i do not know how to turn any of this ^ off, by the way. i’m sure some people out there have a switch that disables their infodumping mid-speech. i do not. and i also didn’t realize he wasn’t looking for a real answer until my other coworker explained so hours later. he could not excuse himself from the conversation he started, and i made a conservative man at least 30 years older than me to listen to my catullus recitation. i will sodomize and facefuck you, indeed.
anyway, i think i got a bad grade in being sexually harassed. my pro tip is maybe don’t start with what a very autistic individual will misconstrue as you earnestly asking them to explain sex to you. the special interest shield will cause splashback damage.

The thing about the patriarchy, is that men must take Ls to defeat it. Like, the act of complimenting men shouldn’t be something men take as a sexual advance. But because it’s a part of the “language” of gendered relationships, nobody is able to be normal about ℕ complimenting men.
Men can’t be normal about it because it’s so often seen as none platonic advances and women can’t be normal about it because women don’t want men to be weird to them, just because they said they like his hair.
To stop this men must stop taking compliments as Non-platonic advances. But because compliments are deeply embedded in the language of human attraction this will inevitably lead to us to reject people that show interest in us.
So apparently, over the summer, Quibi (the shortest-lasting streaming service ever lmao) did a quarantine project called “Home Movie: The Princess Bride” where a bunch of celebrities recreated The Princess Bride in tiny chunks at home.
And like there was no permanent cast, all these celebrities seem to have gotten a scene or part of a scene to do (i’m not sure exactly, I did not ever watch Quibi and thus haven’t seen this yet), and then they just… recreated it as best they could. At home. Under quarantine.
So like, you had Jennifer Garner in a blanket cape playing Princess Buttercup AND the Booing Old Woman with a crowd comprised entirely of stuffed animals:
Or Taika Waititi paying Westley off a badly-drawn Inigo on a piece of cardboard held in front of someone’s face:
And it’s all just delightful.
But my absolute favorite part of this thing that I’ve sadly never seen but assume is probably absolutely hilarious and a treasure and I want to find it some day and watch the whole thing… is that Carey Elwes is in it.
In case you need a comfort watch and because Youtube search nowadays sucks rancid putrescence, I remind you of the Princess Bride Home Movie from the lockdown, starring everybody

whenever the conversation about difficulty and accessibility in games come up i want to slam my head into a wall because noone thats speaking has anything more than a surface level understanding of what "difficulty" even is
your game should have accessibility options, but if your only accessibility options are "turn off central game mechanics" then you have made shit accessibility options.
you know what accessibility option doesnt completely fucking butcher your game while allowing almost everyone to play it? an option that is not available in 99.99% of all games ever made? easy:
