Your own person, all along
i always love the way that mtg strategists and high level players discuss red decks in articles. this quote has been going around the local mtg server:
and the thing is that i really love hot dog decks. this guy is so fucking right
I oscillate between âThere is undoubtedly an immense amount of skill involved in both constructing and piloting red burn decksâ and âheeheehoohoo bolt bolt boltâ on a monthly basis.

"on god's green earth" is way too fun to say even when you don't believe in god and know most of it is blue, actually

Thankfully, this robin has saved the day and won the game. Both teams have come together and will never fight again
CEOs such a deeply unserious concept. Hi I'm the guy whose job it is to decide how much money everyone gets and I just so happened to decide I should get two squilliam dollars and you should get a penny and a half. I know I did a good job because math please don't double check.

This just gave me a great idea thanks
Happy 10th Birthday, Yeen!!
For those who donât know. I tried a number of different blogs on tumblr. Earthen-bestiary was about weird animals I loved. Knowledge-exploitation was where I shared weird and niche magic the gathering cards. @bizarre-trader ended up being a fusion of a few different things and was a joy to interact through the mtg community with.
It was today 10yrs ago @that-darn-hyena first doodled the guy and officially christened the character. I cannot put into words how much love I have for this image.
I used my dnd gnoll merchant Yeen because I LOVE making weird merchants. I took inspiration from the sandsverse blogs like fruits of the ape. Yeen would shout about mtg cards as if they were things you could buy, and he ran from 2016-2019. In that time I sent people cards, people sent me cards, I received an entirely rad gremlin crochet that must have taken SO much time, love, and care. 2016-2020 was probably the darkest part of my life, and I credit Yeen and how beloved he was for how I found my own self esteem and became my own person.
The character retired around 2019 but he holds a special place in my heart. If Jones represents me in my 30âs then Yeen most certainly represents me in my 20âs.
Thank you all for the love, it was such a joy to run.
if theres one thing that really pissed me off from my 3 years of architecture i took in high school it's learning about how we used to have all these little techniques to maximize or minimize heat or warmth and now we just merrily abandoned all those to have the same copypaste style buildings everywhere that are often INCREDIBLY unoptimized to the local weather and climate so we can just throw more money at our heating and cooling bills
where i live it is hot as balls approximately 80% of the year. i do not want a massive butt-ugly grey mcmansion with a huge echoey open-concept kitchen-livingroom-foyer-diningroom-staircase that has huge windows so i can have an hvac unit the size of a barge heaving and straining to keep it at a constant 72 the grees. i want a north indian traditional style home with small windows to force the airflow to cool, decorative grates to limit the amount of sunlight, and a COURTYARD with a POND *smashes unspecified large object*
I hate learning about instances of "oh yeah we know how to do that, we just don't".

âI love the way the playerâs body moves in Bloodborne: You can fly in any direction like that, like a nervous little bird. If you want to be close, you are instantly close, and if you want to be away, you are instantly away. What a gift. Of course everything is violent and wants to touch you, but if you are perfect, you will not be touched. There is a little secret here which perhaps you can notice: When the ugly monsterâs limbs reach out to touch the small humanâs body, there is about a tenth of a secondâmaybe lessâ where her body is invincible. It doesnât even matter if sheâs geometrically in harmâs way or not. She is safe because she timed it right, was perfect. See, even in this very hard game, there is something wonderful and fair: The game doesnât care about the way bodies actually intersect. If your timing was correct, it agrees: âYou were not touched.â Many games hide that tiny moment of invincibility within quick movement, and it feels so kind just knowing, no mater how bad you are, that if you could fit every moment of pain in that one tenth of a second you could be invincible for the rest of your life. Sometimes I wish I had this power in real life. If I had it would mean never having to say ânoâ in so many words, nor the confrontation that sometimes comes with saying no. But that perfect, flawless dodge is not sustainableâyou have to be devastated so many times to get the timing so flawless. And hereâs my bad secret: when I killed this one monster, I didnât do it by dodging flawlessly, but by mashing some awful weapon in her side while her limbs were flailing and she could not hit me back. Unfair and problematic of me, I know. So often, gamesâ expressive qualities are limited to the violent motion of virtual bodies, yet they can be extremely articulate within that vocabulary. As much as I want to be an untouchable angel of forgiveness and grace with a bottomless well of compassion for all living things, I keep messing up that dodge and I think itâs making me a bitch.â

Going to a seder at a family friend's place tonight and I have been informed multiple times that someone there has changed her name to Stephanie, but because it seems nobody wants to deadname her, nobody has specified who Stephanie is. So I guess I'm just going to get a surprise Stephanie when I arrive.
I am among the first people to arrive which means I get to play a fun process of elimination game. It is not the family's youngest child so I think that leaves two more. Unless Stephanie is an aunt or a niece or something.
Have learned that Stephanie is the eldest child. Which is very convenient for me because she is the one family member whose name I could not remember anyway.
