First panel (tearful woman): 2012 Leo saying he should "go for the head."

I don't enjoy doing character design, but I'm pretty happy with these guys,,, Bearded Dragon Dad and Axolotl Kid beloved

They only exist within the story to further the plot, but here is some extra info about these background characters anyway!

Bearded Dragon Dad's girlfriend left after he and the child were mutated. They are better off without her tbh, but he is still heartbroken (u_u ). Mr. Dad has been doing a great job raising his kid alone despite struggling to find consistent work as a mutant. After April helps them in chapter 3, they get away and are sheltered by kind members of their community.

Axolotl Kid finds being a mutant to be awesome, the axolotls were her favourite old pets, but is frustrated that she gets treated differently by other people. The kid wants a baseball bat now. April is very inspiring!

Mr. Polar Bear is a indeed a BEAR (was still new to the community and working on that body positivity u_u). He is very kind and quiet. Being mutated did a number on his mental health... he was afraid and ashamed of the change so he isolated himself and never told anyone. This unfortunately made him an easier target (ToT ). We will get this man some comfort and confidence as well as friends who love him as he is. (Bonus fact, he used to be an assistant zoo veterinarian.)
