So the Jet/Zuko fight scene is great for many reasons but can you imagine, sitting in dunkins donuts, sipping your dunkaccino, and this crazed teenager comes in with these enormous. hooks? and accuses the ALSO teenaged cashier of being a russian sleeper agent and there’s a cop who tries to diffuse the situation but instead of letting things de-escalate the cashier leaps over the counter, steals the cop’s gun, and says “i’ll give you a show” i mean-

"even avatar yangchen said—" that's not the POINT, the point is that aang is the LAST airbender the LAST air nomad the LAST person following these teachings, the point is that if he breaks his vows the air nomads will truly die out with him, forever. the point is that the monks taught him all life is sacred and even if ozai is a piece of shit who everyone agrees deserves to die, aang refuses to let ozai force him to give up the last thing he has of his people, their lessons, refuses to let ozai wipe the last air nomad from the earth and finish what his horrible family started. the point is that aang beats ozai because his spirit is unbendable, the point is that he takes the man whose ancestors set his on fire and robs him of the ability to hurt anyone ever again, the point is that the Fire Lord ends the fight kneeling before the Last Air Nomad and THAT is the ending aang deserved

Fun fact in addition: Cary Elwes wasn’t allowed to be part of that scene because he kept laughing. The Westley on the table was dummy.

This is AFTER he broke a toe riding Andre the Giant’s ATV, and got concussed when he and Christopher Guest tried to make the scene where Count Rugen knocks Wesley out more convincing. Mandy Patinkin busted the rib trying not to laugh, and also accidentally stabbed Guest during their fight scene.  About the only person who didn’t get some form of overenthusiasm-induced injury or illness during filming was Robin Wright, who had to repeatedly get her dress burnt up in the fire swamp scene because Goldman ruined one of the takes by screaming “Oh my god, she’s on fire!”

The guy in the giant rodent costume got arrested on his way to the set and they had to delay production to go bail him out
