I must be really missing Skyrim because I had this dream the other night and I woke up laughing
Today, my sister and I made the Kynareth-themed salad from @tastesoftamriel ââs Feasts of the Nine! Arugula and⊠cornsalad, I think itâs called in English?, plus (fake because Iâm cheap) goat cheese, apple slices, and walnuts with a lemon vinaigrette as per the post. (Fun fact about cornsalad/field salad/whatever: in German, itâs also called rapunzel salad, as in that Rapunzel - if I remember the fairytale right, itâs her who was named after the salad rather than vice versa.)
I really enjoyed making this! (And eating it, it goes without saying - the cheese and the arugula and the apples worked out well together, and oh goodness the lemon in the dressingâŠ) Itâs been, goodness, a few years since we started getting fancier with cooking, but weâre still not great at improvising, and sometimes I think I stick to recipes to the letter beyond reason. The Feasts of the Nine and some of the Daedric meals sound like a great place to start for more improvisation - having an idea and ingredients, and then working out how to make it all work together. (This one has actually gotten me thinking about how to tweak it already - somehow, I kept thinking mint might make a nice addition. When we have fresh mint in our garden again, Iâll definitely give that a try.)
I hope Iâll be able to give something off these two posts a try next week too! Iâm hoping to make the tribute to Meridia, if theyâve still got spaghetti squash here⊠otherwise, maybe the CIRCLE OF LIIIIIIFE pie, slightly morbid as an Arkay-themed pie might seem to me, because it does sound like a lot of fun to work out. Though I could also play it safe and make jazbay crostata after a recipe after all if all else failsâŠÂ
I'll be remaking this post since the last one got overrun by neo nazis.
(Psa if you get antisemitic towards me or call me a k/ke I'll block you then drag your ass through the mud)
Jewish Mystic practices are a closed practice and NOT open to non-jews (goyim). The Witch and Fantasy community have a bad habit of stealing from closed of cultures in minority groups and claiming them.
If you are not ethnically jewish or a full convert, you should not steal or study the Kabbalah or any of our symbols. Most Jews won't even study the Kabbalah, it takes a lot of knowledge of our holy books to even grasp the Kabbalah and its mystic symbols.
Not all cultures in mysticism are open, and Jewish Mystic Arts are not an open practice.

The pen is mightier.
what if we stopped viewing antisemitism as basically a harmless quirk, easily overlooked in people we otherwise want to like?
Cobra Skeleton, 1920.
Oh yeah baby shove that crucifix in my face smear me in garlic with a silver spoon I've been a bad bad little vampire
fuck nazis for taking the beautiful, intricate stories from norse and irish mythologies and turning them into metaphors for their disgusting ideology. also just fuck nazis in general

The complete Icelandic staves / ĂsatrĂș symbol series. (Artwork 2015)
Reupload of one of my most popular posts.
Each artwork is representing an element. They are presented here in the following order : fire, earth, metal, water, wood and air. The symbols are accompanied by stanzas of the Håvamål or Völuspå, written in runes.
Disclaimer for purists : admittedly for aesthetic effect only, as these runes are Elder Futhark and thus predates the viking era by a few centuries. (Letâs not even go into the subject of Icelandic staves which are even a lot younger than that). The transcription is also a wild approximation, again accuracy wasnât a concern during the creative process.
The stanzas :
1) Fire : Helm of Terror
Cattle die and kinsmen die, thyself too soon must die, but one thing never, I ween, will die fair fame of one who has earned.
2) Earth : VegvĂsir
Happy is he who hath in himself praise and wisdom in life; for oft doth a man ill counsel get when âtis born in anotherâs breast
3) Metal : HĂłlastafur
Hard is it in the world, great whoredom, an axe age, a sword age, shields shall be cloven, a wind age, a wolf age, ere the world sinks.
4) Water : Veiðistafur
He welcomes the night who has enough provisions Short are the sails of a ship, Dangerous the dark in autumn, The wind may veer within five days, And many times in a month.
5) Wood : Varnarstafur Valdemars
An ash I know, Yggdrasil its name, With water white is the great tree wet; Thence come the dews that fall in the dales, Green by Urthâs well does it ever grow.
6) Air : Valknut
Thought and Memory each morning fly Over the vast earth: Thought, I fear, may fail to return, But I fear more for Memory.
I wanna hear these Opinions on steampunk color palettes, if youâre willing.
tbh âthe Victorians did not go to the trouble of inventing aniline dyes so that we could wear neutralsâ mostly covers it?
they went to a lot of effort to bring affordable screaming bright fuchsias and acid greens into the world, and we should honor their tacky, tacky choices.
letâs not forget the tacky patterns, too
oh yeah
oh fuck yeah
(TELL ME that last one isnât a steampunk look. just try and tell me)
yes! thank you, these are EXACTLY what i meant. tomorrow Iâll take a picture of the bafflingly tacky goldenrod-and-maroon gown Iâve got at the shop
also
this is wise, and correct.
This is 100% true.
Oh no, no those are tasteful compared to what wild color shenanigans the 19th century got up to. Most of them being mid-century are only ~2 colors excepting the plaid. By the 1890s, five colors per dress was the fashion. TheyâŠdidnât all coordinate the way we would. Â
PUMPKIN WORTH
I have seen mid-century dresses in electric blue. Barbie pink
Black with photo-realistic brocade oranges. Royal purple with GIANT POLKA DOTS.
Hey hey did you know lime green and lavender was a favorite color combo in 1895?
This one is not so much tacky asâŠvibrant
Okay at ~1903 itâs not really Victorian but I love the melting ice cream explosion look of it
This dress has faded but it would have originally been a quite eye-catching shade of violet.
Not that past eras were any less fond of colors even if they werenât artificial dyes.  Iâve seen canary yellow Regency dresses and an 18th century manâs coat in turquoise velvet printed with leopard spots.  Steampunk isnât really Victorian so much as it is âdrapery store vomited on a sexy colorblind school marmâ
Et le piece de resistanceâŠ
Yes, those orange blocks are outlined in green chenille fringe.
brb, saving that green one to my âMalfoy estate saleâ pinterest board
Steampunk isnât really Victorian so much as it is âdrapery store vomited on a sexy colorblind school marmâ
Pair a brightass fushia dress with a top hat and gears you cowards
MORE PUMPKIN ORANGE AND FRINGE YOU COWARDS
If youâre not using blood red and forty pounds of lace and trim what the fuck are you even playing at
