Fun how the bystander effect was coined to cover up how cops are bigoted cowards who let a queer person die and Stockholm syndrome was also coined to cover that the cops handled a hostage situation so badly the hostages trusted their captors more than the cops.
Next you're gonna tell me 40% of all people beat their partners.

An older coworker overheard a conversation I was having with a guy in my department about Skyward Sword and kept trying to dunk on the youngins by saying games when he was growing up were way harder + more boring than what the youths have and kids these days don't know what it was like to be a gamer back in the Good Ol' Days— but I kept agreeing with him and saying modern games have tons of quality of life improvements that make them way more fun to play.
He'd briefly stare at me and then continue attempting to bash the younger generation for being spoiled in terms of games before I agreed repeatedly that the industry has really matured in a lot of ways and games are more accessible and enjoyable now.
After about 20 minutes straight of attempted insults that I kept accepting as pretty objective fact, he stopped talking to me. Jokes on you buddy, I came here to make friends and be friendly, not just get a paycheck and job training!!!! I'm going to become your bestie and you don't even know it yet!!!! You're doomed, hecker!!!!!
Update!!!
Grumpy Older Coworker saw me staring blankly at the puddle my water bottle left after it exploded in my bag and said “Oof. That’s bad luck” and then manifested a mop to clean it up for me before I could even register what happened.
I mentioned having hypermobility issues and Grumpy Older Coworker sternly + kindly gave me a pep talk about how I need to advocate for my needs in the workplace, and if anyone gives me a hard time about it, to really lay it on thick that Bad Things will happen if I push myself too hard. He was very clear about not sparing anyone’s feelings if a task would be too difficult.
Grumpy Older Coworker made a snarky joke about me getting trained in rolling around some massive garbage containers, but unlike the prior snark about modern gaming in my previous post, it was out of concern for my wellbeing when I have health issues, and the snark was aimed at the person who trained me. He also offered to empty the garbage containers in my work areas if I ever need help with them.
COMPASSION WILL GET YOU EVERYWHERE!!! SAILOR MOON WANTS THE LEVELS OF FRIENDSHIP THAT I HAVE!!! BETTER WATCH YOUR BACK, TUMBLR USER READING THIS, BECAUSE I’M GONNA BEFRIEND YOU BEFORE YOU KNOW IT!!!
you understand that there's nothing wrong with wanting people to pay attention to you, right? it's not intrinsically evil, you are allowed to want to be seen. you can do it in soft and nice and good ways, but you don't even have to. you can just want to be seen.

ok, no, but to be real, this is a terrible day for everyone. The collapse caused by these blockages of shipping will probably kill a lot of vulnerable people. This is the cost of US Imperialism, actually. This is just going to make things worse. I know we're distanced enough from it to go hahaha funny but like. In what world can we construe this as good
@tamamita
thats what they say, but they enforce this by shooting ships that come through there, so every major shipping company in the 'west' wont go through there. From what I understand, the 3 largest shipping companies have all decided to just avoid the place, so this isnt really targeted against Specifically Israel at all
Yemen explicitly said it is specifically against Israel, in solidarity with the Palestinian people against the genocide, and to support Iran after Israel kept bombing it. The decision is on the western companies, they weren't being targeted but they decided to feel threatened. Of course none of us here think its awesome awesome shipping delays happen, but honestly this is one of the least violent and least lethal ways they could've pushed back against the genocidal aggression, it is one of the most peaceful options. They aren't even stopping shipping the routes will just take longer. People support it because one of the few countries on earth is seriously pushing back against a genocide and Israel bombing other countries and this is far less violent than what Israel has been doing
water sports should be for adults too.me and the blokes at university should be allowed to shoot eachother with water guns
post cancelled I've been told the term i used already exists in english and that it means something Very Much Different. english is a wicked language that i regret learning

Hi. I have a few more auestions about capitalising the b in Black, this is coming from a place of learning as I'm a white person who grew up in mostly white spaces
(also I'm sorry if I miss capitalising Black one or two times throughout this, I usually don't really pay attention to capitalisation and most of my capitalisation is just autocorrect, but I'm trying my best)
Before coming across this blog I was under the assumption that it's better to not capitalise the b in Black for the same reason I don't capitalise the first letter in any queer identity, (eg, lesbian and not Lesbian) because to me, decapitalising it says "that's not my name.", in my head, decapitalising it places it on the same level as any other adiective that can be used to describe me, it's not unique and doesn't require a special mention
But after seeing the smarter in seconds vided vou have linked, I understand a lot of Black people prefer to capitalise the b, but I don't really understand why. I'm curious to know why you(as the blog owner) prefer Black with the b capitalised and what aspects of capitalising the first letter of an identity I'm missing
At the end of the day this is just out of my own curiosity and you don't have to answer but id love to hear your thoughts
I mean, I've pretty much said all there is to say about it. It's a sign of respect. It is a sign of your privilege as a white person that for you, it's not unique, it doesn't matter, because Whiteness is something you consider to be default. Y'all believe it to be the Universal experience, you believe it doesn't matter because it goes unspoken. You don't have to ask, because the deference comes with Whiteness at the violent expense of the rest of us- y'all just don't notice that, because you've never had to!
I capitalize Black because I want the respect that comes with the identity. My Blackness exists, it is valuable, and you will Acknowledge it. I tell y'all to capitalize Black when you speak to me because if you're going to claim you care about respecting us, if you're going to ask me for my hard labor, the very least you could do is show respect to us at the door. You're going to treat my identity with respect, you're going to give it the acknowledgment that centuries of violence have given you the acknowledgment of yours!
mine, and i cannot stress this enough, craft
