Being a fan is something so enthralled in my notion of being. And it's not about one specific media and how it makes me feel. It is how consuming media makes me feel. The jitters and excitation, the uncontrollable urge to see, read, hear more. And it is the culture around media. I am a chronic fan, but not of one thing in particular. Yes, i will always come back to doctor who and sherlock and bbc productions. But anything good enough can make me feel that way. And i love the desperation, the race to know more — and when you can't anymore, to find somewhat the same, running after this indescribable feeling that comes with being a fan. it is the urge to share ideas, to have inside jokes with yourself. the knowledge that your heart's walls are no longer wallpaper, but posters and pictures. the tragedy and joy of knowing a single work of media can alter the course of my life so inherently and completely.
