Hey everybody, just leaving a note here, gonna try to start posting here and on patreon everyday, run a proper mod blog. Anywhose, been feeling like an artsy mood recently, doing some pose work and trying to clean up some of the art I’ve done for Line Space, obviously he is FAR from perfect. Every couple of months I’ll probably come back to his poses and try to re-do all of them, even if its just to make a few subtle touches to hopefully make him look a little better. No reason not to update every so often since I enjoy practicing my art shtuff on the side.

Also, audio is recorded and edited for the next video and Eli has the Raving Gaming footage and is working her way through editing it, should be done sometime before the end of the week, we’ll see though. Don’t want to make any promises after the technical difficulties of the stream yesterday.

Okay, so, channel was supposed to start tomorrow, but Eli has work stuff and can’t stream with me this next week AND my left arm basically stopped working for the past two days. On top of that, I move into my brand new apartment, yay, woohoo, tomorrow, the packing, moving, and planning of which has made me insanely busy this past week, making it nigh impossible to finish three videos to start the channel tomorrow.

So, what I figured I would do to garner some goodwill with all of you is talk a little about what this channel that Eliyora and I are starting is about, what the plans are for it and how its supposed to be team channel, or whatever its called.

The channel’s name has been decided as Creative Notes. This is because when I came up with this idea, it was for the purpose of doing the one thing I love to most; helping people with creative ideas make their ideas even better, both on the execution and planning stages. So it’s not going to be about saying what’s wrong or right about specific projects like a reviewer but instead using examples to help portray how you should do something, hopefully helping the viewers of the channel understand more about creative design or just look at it in a little bit of a different way. I’m going to be doing that more directly, focusing on creative design and its…...its endless list of parts. Seriously, on character design and facial expressions, I could talk for at least five hours if not five years if I had the reference material. Eliyora on the other hand will be talking about folklore and mythology. She will literally be fangirling about it because her goal is to help you see what made those stories last throughout the generations and able to inspire people hundreds of years later, as well as sharing origins and surprising facts about these stories that you may not know.

The other important thing to mention is length. My videos, my Straight Lines, terrible name I know, will all be about five minutes long. The reason for this is that any longer and I would….ramble or lose focus. And a big part of that isn’t even me trying to excuse laziness, even when talking about the same topic, like time skipping, switching from the visual mediums like movies or manga to books requires entirely separate videos if you’re to properly remember what i talk about first because it changes so drastically from one to the other. Eliyora is currently still in the prep portion for her show, Fable Facts, and the goal for that is somewhere between five and ten minutes. We’ll see what she feels comfortable with after she writes her first script or two and do some test recording.

Oh, and did I forget to mention that I WILL be producing once a week? Because I will. I don’t care how crippled I get, or how much work I get that week, I WILL make good on my Monday release schedule. Just might be in the night instead of the morning some weeks. Eli will be aiming for the same thing but it’s not easy; she has a busy life so we’ll see what happens. We’re both hoping that having another person relying on us to do our part to help the other will push us to be better about staying on schedule.

And that leads me to how this is going to work. No, we aren’t doing our shows together, Straight Lines will be separate from Fable Facts and vise-versa. Colabs will probably be planned ahead of time and will almost always be longer than our normal videos. Any video that Eli produces she’ll get the comments forwarded to her e-mail address from me so that she doesn’t miss any of your guy’s comments on her hot booty. I will try to post every week on the channel’s discussion area, either to give a heads up how we’re both doing, thanking you guys for support, talking about complications, posing questions to think about or discuss, etc. etc. etc.

And there will be a Raving Gaming stream every week, the date and time changing depending on my schedule, and Eli’s until I find/get others to livestream with. The purpose of these are to allow us to further dive into and develop the topics we discussed in our last videos, not to mention respond directly to questions you all have, both about the topic or about whatever kinds of questions you have, who knows, we might end up changing our video schedule to fit in something you guys get us thinking about. And of course, all the normal insanity that comes with livestreaming, and if you guys know Eli’s streams at all….yeah, shit’s gonna be weird and I will do nothing to help. That’s your warning.

Finally, what the hell is a team channel? I don’t know, there’s probably a much better term for it but I honestly don’t know. The idea though is that each person on the team releases on a different day of the week, all of you on the same channel doing similar types of videos, or videos with the same kind of intent. Great, and I mean GREAT examples of this include The League Of Super Critics and Game Theory. You’ll also see the exact same kind of thing on websites, like Hidden Block and Normal Boots.

So, the idea for Creative Notes is for something kind of similar, with each member of the channel providing very different content but with the intent of helping creative content producers produce better content by changing how they look at their projects, how to approach a project, etc. etc. etc. Who can ask to join?

EVERYONE! Okay, there are stipulations. One, visual quality. You don’t need to provide video of yourself, in fact, it’s kind of preferred given that neither Eli nor I will be, instead using caricatures or OC’s of ourselves to appear on screen. It just has to look clean and pleasant to look at, very similar to what you’ll find 90% of bronalysis content creators using, but you also don’t have to be super good looking, use me as a basic minimum. Also, you can pick your style, ranging from very cartoony like Extra Credits or more detailed like anime or manga. You’ll also have to be able to properly use visual references, whether pictures like I used on my old channel or videos like…..most people. Otherwise I can help you organize, arrange, think through, etc. etc. etc. etc. all the aspects of creating a good basic design and structure for your videos.

Two, audio quality. Honestly, I’m a little more picky on this one. You need to be able to record audio of a certain quality and edit it so that you remove the random breaths, the pauses, etc. etc. Now, don’t get me wrong. Nostalgia Critic audio quality is not what I’m talking about. I understand being out of practice, having difficulties, or not being able to fix problems without causing new ones. That’s totally understandable…..aaaaaand you’ll find that I’m a good ways off from perfect audio myself and I’m definitely not a fan of double-standardizing people I work with.

And that’s about it for this update. I’ll say this stuff again but in a shorter, more abridged version, in the intro video for the channel once it starts. FUCK THIS EPISODE! THIS EPISODE IS WORSE THEN RARITY TAKES MANEHATTAN!

Okay.....needed to get that out of my system. Don’t like opening something like this with something like that but i had to, this episode literally drove me insane with the rage it induced in me. Now, i’m not going to get into everything right now. Not the wasted time. Not the wasted world building. Not the waste of a race like the griffons, not the totally, all around unlikeable casting, not the bullshit.

This is about why it doesn’t deserve to exist, why this is harmful, why this is the single cruelest and most messed up thing MLP has put to screen and i have a hard time imagining how they could top it. So let me paint you a picture.

A teenager-ish griffon, who has grown up in a place that forces each and every person to survive by how much they can earn, with no kindness, laughter, or happiness of any kind, leaves home with what little money she has managed to earn selling shitty, shitty griffon scones, goes to Ponyville, seeking the one and only friend she’s ever had, maybe just to continue having a reason to live, maybe even to beg to stay there so that life can be better. Once there, the majority of her time with this friend is interrupted by one of this girls friend’s, someone who can’t stand to be alone for two seconds and pesters the young griffon who is desperately trying to figure out just how close her and her old friend used to be, using the skills and methods taught to her by the very place she lives in, the same methods she uses to entertain herself when left to her own devices. And, when it all reaches the boiling point, the pestering, the lack of time alone,  the worry, the fear, when all of it reaches maximum, the one friend she’s ever had, her one hope, assassinates it, tosses her aside like she’s nothing, picking everyone else and showing no understanding. That is the Gilda who left in Griffon the Brush Off.

One year later, those exact same two come to where she lives, like a nightmare come to haunt you. Those two do the exact same things, one pestering you and practically not interacting with you but instead whats around you, the other ignoring you or being mean to you, acting just as cold as when she left. And how does the show, how does MLP have this hurt, wounded Griffon who has grown up in a world so harsh that there is literally no hope but to escape, how do they have her act?

She forgives them, puts her own life in danger, sacrifices the hopes of her entire race, and trusts them with literally no transitory dialogue as to why except what they used to have, the friendship and hope that RD had assassinated and that Pinkie had helped destroy one year before.

And then the two leave her alone again, the promise of their care being mere words while counting on her to *ahem* FIX HER ENTIRE FUCKED UP RACE!

So yeah, I hate this episode, i thought i would never hate an episode as much as Rarity Takes Manehattan but this episode straight up supports abusive relationships, forgiving those who have hurt you for no reason, ABSOLUTELY NO REASON, and now makes it so that Griffon the Brush Off supports both the idea that you deserve all the blame for your upbringing AND that racial ignorance is acceptable.

I.....i don’t take pride in hating this show.....i don’t enjoy this.....this show changed my life and is still the number one source of my inspiration, it is the reason i can start a new channel with the hopes of making a living off of it, its the reason i can be happy, its the reason i found people who made me feel like i was allowed to feel. It changed......it changed everything in my life......so i don’t enjoy saying this, i don’t enjoy feeling this.....but i refuse to ignore the bad in it just because of the love i once had.

And i am looking for help! The idea for the channel is short videos focusing on either how we as human beings look at things, things to think about in general, but mainly focused on creative design, being a creative producer, and various things like that. What i’m looking for are people willing to sign on to work with me by putting together the visual portion of the videos, following a fairly simple format with a lot of lee-way for you as far as you 1. Change my expression accordingly to the tone or topic 2. provide consistent updates to the references so that the video doesn’t become overly boring and 3. are willing to have the video reviewed by me, with possible changes that i will try to be as specific about as possible, such as changes of expressions at specific times until another specific time, additions of reference pictures, and whether the reference should or should not take up the entirety of the screen. Far away, deep within the eastern mountains there lies a place where true horrors await, where demons go not to commit war with one another but instead to consumate their lust for greater power, for legacies that would never end. Here is where Veranah was born, the result of a union between a dragon, filled with darkness, hate, and longing for revenge on the humans that had hurt it so and a demon, a demon of patience and intellect, that spoke small whispers into the ears and hearts of men in order to get his way. Veranah is the master of this place, her long and agile body being able to hold itself in almost any position so long as the back half of her tail had proper purchase. She is only master for now though, making allies and winning favor with many of the other young, unholy spawn who have yet to leave or have left long ago. She waits patiently for when humanity comes to her, for when one with ambition comes to give her the opportunity to fulfill both her forebears wishes, revenge on humanity by causing it to come tumbling down in flames and control on a scale no demon had ever known before. A demon of extreme patience and strength, using her wings to knock over pillars, cause the mountain itself to roar, summon hellfire, and sometimes just send her foes flying while her scales are nigh impenetrable, along with wings, usually the weakness of such creatures, being her greatest shield along with her greatest weapon. Her powers are ever growing as she is constantly seeking more knowledge and alliances, ever waiting for the right chance to appear in the heroes and villains who come here seeking fame and power. Artists note: This was so much fun to draw and i love her design. I really enjoy drawing wings like this and snake tails for some reason are something that appeal to me, especially attached to an attractive woman's upper half. The scaling done on her tail though probably took longer then the original sketch did, being over two hours worth of work and really taxing my hand, even with the copy pasting i did. I might do more with her but if i tried doing a whole lot more, i'd probably try and find a way to make the scales take a little less time.
