Synopsis: Link, he was a happy child. Lived peacefully in a sector of Hyrule, a land that had been in peace for so long that only history could tell when the last rise of the Curse of Demise had arrived. The Sword of Legend, sleeping. The Heroes Spirit finally laid to rest, after so long. The triforce, a mere fairytale. Only was it children’s tales of a time where the Skylands up above had been well lived in, that time could be so easily traversed, of a war that spanned eras. History, fragmented, but not in any way that mattered. That was, until once again the sword was pulled from rest, the undying spirit awakening once more. And with it came a ruined childhood, as most Heroes stories start. It all starts with tragedy, doesn’t it? This cycle neverending.

The world building here is really deep and unique, with the action taking place so far into the future that the various races of Hyrule have evolved! The glimpses of things to come we get on tumblr are very promising for an epic and dramatic story, and the first chapter posted on ao3 confirms it quite well with such a young Link finding himself thrown at his fate, ready or not. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this AU playing out! - Karama9

Link is a child, and he loves sand, crafting and crabs. A child like that has no business sneaking aboard a ship that's going to brave the big seas to go to the island where the sword of legends is hidden… and even less business being chosen by said sword. Just the one chapter as of yet, but a promising world, with solid characterisation of Link. - stinkyguar

What an opening! This Link is proving to be good trouble already having snuck off and wandered into destiny. Very excited to see how this far distant future has changed Hyrule, and what that means for fate in the first place for the kingdom. - amelias-hart

What is Gantober? Basically, a celebration of none other than the greatest King of Evil to ever do it, Ganondorf, for the entirety of October! There is a prompt for each day of October. Think Linktober, but only Ganondorf 😈 You can do all of the prompts, or some of the prompts, or one of the prompts, and you can write, draw, doodle, whatever it is you want! All you need to bring to the table is some Ganondorf love 💕 Releasing the list early this year because we're all very busy people, so if you want to participate and wanted some time to plan in advance, well have at it! ...or what I decided to call this series of mine. During Gantober I wrote two stories which explored a young Ganondorf travelling alongside Link, who was fearful of him after he revealed he could communicate with monsters. Someone mentioned how endearing it would be if Ganondorf spoke to chuchus, so I felt compelled to add a part 3. I also took the opportunity to explore Link's PoV in this story. You can read it here:

A Tale of Two Rulers by @figmentforms

Synopsis: Link is reborn as Zelda's daughter, and while she's still just a kid, Ganondorf arrives at the border of Hyrule, ready to invade. In a effort to break the cycle of violence (or at least buy some time for Link to grow up in secret as the princess of Hyrule, Rinku) Zelda offers to marry Ganondorf and share the kingdom to keep it from being destroyed by war.

One of the oldest Zelda comics I follow, and it still intrigues me as it did back in 2017 when I first found it. Such an interesting premise, political power plays, layered characters forming layered relationships, and the art is just phenomenal. The comic is slow to update, but given the incredibly high quality of the art and writing, it is always worth waiting for. Queen Zelda commits to a last resort plan to offer her hand in marriage to her rival king Ganondorf, in a hope to end the wars between their kingdoms, and perhaps even the endless cycle of hatred and reincarnation they're trapped in. Her adopted daughter, Rinku, may or may not be the third wielder of the Triforce, and surely nothing bad will happen with Ganondorf raising his primordial slayer as his own child. - PitchBlackEspresso

A long running comic with artwork that is stunning, with characters that feel colorful yet morally gray at the same time. A Tale of Two Rulers does not hesitate in delving into the complicated relationship between Ganondorf and Zelda as they aim to rule Hyrule together as one. However, the comic also has plenty of humor, and will have you laughing and crying at key moments. - bloobluebloo

The first thing I want to say about this comic is that as I read through it, it became quickly apparent that the grayscale art was incredibly appropriate: the main characters in the story, from Zelda and Ganondorf to Rinku and Skull Kid, deviate from their more extreme portrayals and are all, indeed, morally in shades of grey. The second thing is that I LOVE how both Zelda and Ganondorf are working hard at achieving and maintaining peace, and quickly acquire some respect, and even affection, for each other - simply from communicating and from the common desire not to allow the cycle to play out again. Third, a bit more on the cast: Zelda and Ganondorf are GREAT. They're themselves, but evolving. It's amazing characterization. Rinku is absolutely delightful, Skull Kid is so fun to have around, and Ghirahim an Vaati are the perfect henchmen duo - chaotic, inefficient and far more trouble than anyone should be. - Karama9

Synopsis: Zelda befriends a monster in the forest.

A sweet short story where Zelda finds an injured monster Ganondorf and tries to help him. As they bond, they learn more about each other and both recognize the humanity in themselves and, in the case of Zelda, perhaps become a little more monstrous. Short, but the dialogue is snappy and I love how the two play off each other! Who can resist some monster Ganon and Zelda? - waterglider

A short but delightfully sweet work. Loved how Ganondorf and Zelda were written here. Ganondorf being all gruff at the beginning, and Zelda’s endless curiosity getting her into “trouble.” The two coming to understand each other was soooo sweet. This went straight into my AO3 bookmarks! - twist-dg

A really sweet story in which Zelda finds Ganondorf, who is a monster, and bonds with him. She helps him find his humanity as much as he allows her to indulge her monstrous side. The ending is fantastic! - bloobluebloo
