#HarryPotter has always been important to me. He's saved my life before and many of my followers know how the stories at #Hogwarts intertwine seamlessly with my life. I know I need to speak out amidst the emancipation of the author. As a member of the #lgbtq + community, I can't sit in silence and watch her tarnish my childhood with her villainy. The last few years have been painful as the author of my best friend began to show her true colors, using her amplified voice to spread hate and police who was welcome to our Hogwarts. When you go back and read the stories you can see the racism and homophobia riddled through the story. But that is her story. The bare bones of a world we took and built into an empire. We don't need her or her story anymore. That's the thing. The Harry and Hogwarts we love exist in our hearts. The person and places I love are the ones painted on fanart canvas and woven into fanfiction short stories. The fans welcomed anyone with any talent and passion and we created a story that lept off the pages. #JKRowling DID NOT do that. What she is saying now is horrible and NOT OKAY. Hogwarts will always welcome you home. No TERFs allowed. No hate allowed. Hogwarts is your safe place, your home, if you can still allow it to be.
