(context if u didn't know already, chapter 5 has been confirmed to be taking place during the festival, and Asgore has supplied the decorative flowers that are literally everywhere, and the dark world seems heavily flower/nature themed based on the teaser released yesterday, anyway here we go:)

based on "The Flower Man, Trapped in Asylum" prophecy, (Asgore has also been referred to as The Flower King) and the fact the flower is the central figure made of The Dark in the portrait, I hope there is an enemy in chapter 5, whether a secret boss, mini boss, whatever, that is the flower Asgore has said he "talks all the time to, they are great listeners" in response to sans saying he should basically involve someone else in his drama. like I want it either hate Kris and toriel, or the opposite, be maniacally caring and obsessed with them, because all it hears day in and day out are the famous Kris and toriel that is all The Flower King ever talks about, and how much pain they bring The Flower King and how much they are missed, and either this flower wants to defeat Kris and toriel as "revenge" for Asgore, or capture them to give to Asgore, or maybe they are sick of hearing about them all the time and want to defeat them so it can finally be "free" of them.

one of the most famous superstitious regarding flowers (even if not true), is how talking to them changes how they grow, like saying sweet things helps them grow, and yelling at them makes them wilt, I wonder how a sad, slightly deranged man, lovingly watering you while constantly trauma dumping on you would effect your growth?

also in the teaser there is a fight that is using a Knife attack only ever used by the final boss Omega Flowey

but Knives are also used in deltarune symbolically and thematically to be associated with Kris exclusively and specifically. and a friend of mine pointed out KRIS IS FIGHTING SOLO ALONE IN THIS FIGHT. the only other big Kris fights solo in is against spamton (especially spamton neo in the weird route) and Susie fights solo against gerson, both narrative reflections of themselves SOOOO

what if maybe the flower doing this knife attack might be a flower mirror version of Kris, a Kris raised only by Asgore, like grass finn (fern) from adventure time but a grass kris,

and it's like a lesson to Asgore while he's obsessed with this replacement Kris, that mini arc teaches Asgore why the family split with him, as this flower clone of Kris is deeply unwell

kris has to fight the version of themself that secretly misses their father but also hates him/loves him
