flambae and waterboy. not just for their cute fire x water ship and the cool steam they make when they touch. (though, admittedly, yeah.. that's cool as fuck 🙏)
flambae and waterboy because they're so used to how their powers affect their everyday lives, affecting the people they love, affecting themselves. flambae is a dangerous, hot-headed mess. visi might have villain powers but, fuck, he does too. and he made a damn good use of it when he was a villain. having to learn how to live life with powers that activate during emotional moments if not properly controlled, being a growing kid and with anger issues. fuck. I think about flambae a lot. maybe because I see my anger in him.
i see my fear in waterboy, too. disgusted with himself and his body. hurting others around him, but majority of the time by accidents. similar to flambae, though unlike him it's by mistake most of the time (not that flambae accidently hurting someone with his powers hasn't happened before). forgetting about his own needs, normal and power-related because he's so used to caring for others, having to maneuver around the effects his powers have. how he wishes so bad to experience one day of his life without it, his powers, and yet— wants to be a hero so bad. not that a hero has to have powers to be one, of course. but I bet he'd feel a whole lot less confident without them.. more so than he already does.
flambae and waterboy learning to be vulnerable with one another. picking up the others habits and preferences and, as much as flambae doesn't like to admit it, theyre.. similar. they're really fucking similar and he doesn't know how to feel about that.
flambae and waterboy, if they ever got together or just closer in general (platonic or romantic), would end up being very touchy with eachother, I feel like. whether it'd be little things like shoulder bumping or hands brushing against eachother. or 'big' things, hugging, (definitely would start off with side hugs, flambae is also reluctant to do all of this.) kissing, hesd leaning on the others shoulder. the faint sound of steam coming off from their physical contact, just barely heard over the chatter and general chaos of SDN...
*hi I forgot to add. not only are they learning to be vulnerable with one another but they're also learning how to manage their anger issues with one another. because, yeah, waterboy has anger issues, too. I don't make the rules man 🤷♂️
