Yesterday Air India Express flight IX 1344 from Dubai was attempting to land at Kozhikode airport (Kerala) at around 7.40 pm amid heavy rain when it overshot the runway and fell a few feet below.

Nineteen people, including the plane’s two pilots, were killed on Friday when the jet ripped in two after it overshot and skidded off the runway upon landing. Hundreds of people were injured, many are serious, after the Air India Express Boeing 737 from Dubai—a coronavirus evacuation flight—plunged down a slope in heavy rain on its second attempt to land in Kozhikode.
