*Dreams fist is headed for tommy’s face, Time stops* Tommy: I imagine death so much, it feels more like a memory.
*Cut to exile and the tower*
Tommy: Is this where it gets me? On my feet, sev’ral feet ahead of me?
*Cut to prison, slowly zoom in to tommy on “sevral feet ahead of me”*
Tommy: I see it coming, do I run or fire my gun or let it be?
*Cut to drug van then duel with dream then disc trade for freedom of L’manburg*
Tommy: There is no beat no melody.
*Back to tommy*
Tommy: Burr, my once friend, my enemy
*Dreams face, then him in exile then back to him at the present.*
Tommy: Maybe the last face that I ever get to see
*Cut back to tommy’s face*
Tommy: If I throw away my shot, is this how you’ll remember me?… What if this bullet is my legacy…”
*Tommy looking down at his fist*
Tommy: Legacy. What is a legacy.
*Shots of Wilbur and Jschlatt*
Tommy: It’s planting seeds in a garden you never get to see
*Tubbo’s inauguration speech*
Tommy: I wrote some notes at the beginning of a song someone will sing for me
*The original L’manburg crew*
Tommy: America, you great unfinished symphony! You sent for me!
*The L’manburg flag*
Tommy: You let me make a difference, a place where even orphan immigrants can leave theri fingerprints
*All the things tommy did for l’manburg*
Tommy: And rise up! I’m running out of time!
*Gearing up for the Jschlatt fight*
Tommy: I’m running and my time’s up!
*The exile decision*
Tommy: Wise up! Eyes up.
*Back to the prison*
Tommy: I catch a glimpse of the other side, Laurens leads a soldiers chorus on the other side, my sone is on the other side, He’s with my mother on the other side
*Allll the dead pets and maybe mexican dream*
Tommy: Washington is watching from the other side!
*Wilbur looks on*
Tommy: Teach me how to say goodbye! Rise up! Rise up! Rise up!
*The world starts to fade away*
Tommy: Eliza!
*Tubbo*
Tommy: My love… Take your time. I’ll see you on the other side.
alright i wanna talk about sbi and the idea of death because each of their dream smp characters have relations with the subject and i find that interesting.
first we have philza who has said himself, the only thing about his character is that he’s really fucking old. im going to interpret this as, phil is an immortal who’s lived several decades. his title in SMPearth was “the angel of death”. he reaps different souls, bringing closure upon countless lives. however, he is the idea of mourning. he’s lived years and have seen numerous people die, some by his own hands, and have wept over their deaths. he’s also notorious for having only one life (although it was a joke because hes the hardcore man, i’m going to take it seriously because i want to) he’s constantly on the verge of dying, but he hasn’t yet. he’s trapped in life. he’s seen worlds upon worlds, nations being created and then torn down, people who he’s befriended only to eventually see their end and mourn their passing.
then, we have technoblade which should be pretty obvious. he’s the inciter of violence. he thirsts for blood. blood for the motherfucking blood god. if philza is peaceful death, death with closure (ex. wilbur) then techno is bloodshed. techno represents death by agony, death through war, pitiful death. techno doesn’t represent the sweet taking of death that philza represents but instead that sweeping, unexpected theft of life. it’s violent, it’s gruesome, it’s horrible, but it’s inescapable. it’s something that can’t be resisted just like how technoblade is unable to resist his desire for violence. you can’t run away from death and it’s something that comes eventually.
if phil and techno represent mourning and death in itself, then wilbur represents the act of dying. all throughout the pogtopia arc, the audience can see wilbur’s character begin to lose his own mind, slowly deteriorating into a mindset with no return. we see him lose his own sense of humanity, showing little to no disregard for those around him, desensitized to what it is that he’s doing. wilbur is the idea of corruption. the pogtopia arc is a showing of him slowly losing his own self until he’s nothing but an empty husk. with nothing more to live for, with nothing left within himself, he pleads for his own death and the death of the nation that he birthed. even with ghostbur, ghostbur is the remnants of something that was once there.
which brings us to tommy. tommy as a character himself is a depiction of naivety and the loss of childlike innocence due to the control of the adults around him and the situations that he’s put in. he’s constantly taunted by the idea of death, his whole exile arc circling around it. it was something so close. he’s had his two lives stripped from him at a young age. he’s watched the people he cared about lose their own lives and leave him behind. he’s seen the only home that he knew be torn down. however, he’s constantly told that it’s not his time to die. tommy is haunted by the idea of death, he’s the idea of living, but living with that burden on his shoulders.
to sum up: tommy is the witness of death, wilbur is the act of dying, techno is the bringer of death, and philza is the idea of mourning. this was my interpretation of their characters and how i think they all link back to this overarching theme, but if you have another idea in mind, i would love to hear about it. this just came to me i thought it was cool and not something to be taken seriously :]
how do you think wilbur is gonna go about streaming his own resurrection?

now am i being completely fucking stupid OR does something about the inbetween seem a lot like the afterlife. just in the kinda peaceful (and very white) design of the build and the way it was described as “a gateway” just seems a bit afterlife-y. is this where schlatt and wilbur are?
dream apologists this techno apologists that. where are my wilbur apologists at. mans started a country to sell drugs and after losing an election (he attempted to rig) he betrayed the two teenagers who had stuck with him and blew up their home and died BUT the l’manburg national anthem hits and also he’s pretty
VOUCH VOUCH
wait why aren’t we calling pre-pogtopia wilbur “l’manbur” like we do with vilbur and ghostbur
amiright
look. im just saying. beethoven has been suspiciously quiet since wilbur soot dropped since i saw vienna

if nobody got me i know sam nook got me
dsmp out of context spoilers
something about tommy being given wilbur’s gun in preparation for fighting dream is giving me very... hamilton-related foreshadowing.
i mean, we all know what happened to philip at the end of the duel, right?
i do not see enough posts about how l’manberg wasn’t just a place, it was a character.
and like most characters, l’manberg had (and lost) three canon lives.
the first time was when dream ignited the tnt around l’manberg in the original war, the second was when wilbur blew up l’manberg, and the last, final, death was when techno and dream demolished it.
this is also one of the reasons why i’m 99.9999% sure that no matter how hard they try, l’manberg is never coming back to life.
whatever you do, don’t think about wilbur being resurrected and turning around to look at phil and asking “why would you do that”

i think it’s weird that nobody’s mentioned this, but ghostbur saying he “wanted a cigarette” wasn’t just schlatt. schlatt didnt ever smoke canonically, but you know who did? alivebur. /rp
wait why did we all think that wilbur would be super protective over tommy and go after dream after being revived, when this is the same mf who appointed tommy as president PURELY because he wanted to tommy to watch his own country blow up
