the problem is that obi wan is actually a quite interesting and fun character to think about when there isn't somebody trying to convince you he's the most sad tragic guy in history. he came on the scene in anh hope and just screamed. that's the first thing he does. and we never get more context to that. that's kind of iconic but no one cares they all wanna put him in a tragedy contest with anakin. he used to be a weird old hermit clowning on people!!!

it is funny that the climatic moment of the first six star wars movies hinges on luke cutting off vaders hand and going…wait…..i’ve become just like him….the cycle stops now…..meanwhile there’s his mentor spiders kenobi who cuts off 1000 limbs a day and dgaf. i’m not saying obi wan is evil but u have to admit that’s funny

so if anakin lost one forearm, one whole arm, and two legs at the knees that’s only like 20.6% of his total body weight (source) which means the “more machine than man” thing isn’t even accurate. besides being rude!
