HYPERFIXATIONS GOT ME BAD Y'ALL

Never let anyone tell you that lesbians and trans people are diametrically opposed enemies or that lesbian=terf. The like us even more than we like ourselves, and anyone who ever interacts with the community outside hyper-online spaces can tell you that our two communities love and support each other.

The vast, vast majority of transphobia comes from cishet men and on top of that, the vast majority of TERFs are cishet women who are trying to pit our two communities against each other and try to use lesbians as a weapon to attack our community.

Just realized I may be incapable of reading comprehension because I forgot to capitalize Black in my last ask and only noticed the multiple clear instructions two second after submitting. So here I go again correctly this time.

I was hoping to get your opinion on my character Kenneth. He's probably my favorite of all my characters and he's gone through a lot of change over the years that I've had him. I'm Black but unfortunately grew up with little to no Black representation in art and character design so I ended up with majority white characters. In recent years I've been working to remedy that but still wanted some feedback.

Kenneth's story takes place in a back woods fictional town in the Ozarks so I wanted him to look like he worked outdoors. He's practical and stubborn as well as traumatized by the drowning of his little brother (can't have an oc without ruining their lives in some form or fashion).

In regards to his hair (before any rightful criticism on how dumb he looks) he used to have much neater shoulder length box braids in his design. I made the decision to change his design because I liked the idea of the little girls in the town braiding his hair when they got bored, as well as his meathead White boyfriend braiding it in the middle of the story when Kenneth loses much of his physical strength and capability to disability. (Later in the story disabled design pending).

To cut the yapping short I was hoping to get some pointers or criticism on how I designed him as a Black character. I want him to be the main driving character in a full comic so I think it would be helpful for me to receive some well needed insight.

I replied to your ask! I said I liked his design! I like your art style, I don't have any issues with it. If you want any of my own opinions on story, I have lessons on health and disability, interracial romance that you can look into, and in particular and hair- while there's nothing wrong with having people braid his hair, just make sure that he's not being treated like the town Doll and getting pet on like the zoo.
