(CW: A.I. discussion.) A while back, I decided I don't want to support companies that replace human workers with A.I. as part of game development. You are, of course, welcome to choose your own parameters for how you select games, but that's how my settings are configured. I'm grateful to Steam for making it easier to see where and when this is happening. If I can't catch this 100%, I can at least minimize its effect. That also means I am reevaluating my relationship with games and limiting which games I play... which seems like a healthy choice. I feel like there's an analogy to food here. This is also an issue involving quality. Sometimes, admittedly, I choose junk food. It's healthier for me to look at the ingredients of what I eat, how the ingredients are sourced, and how the food is made. I can't always do that, but I want to be mindful of how my choices are made. That isn't a perfect analogy, of course, because I'm better at analyzing games than food. Nonetheless, I've chosen to support human workers. If that limits the games I play, so be it. As always, your mileage may vary.
