Women aren’t better multitaskers than men – they’re just doing more work

“But a new study, published today in PLOS One, shows women are actually no better at multitasking than men. The study tested whether women were better at switching between tasks and juggling multiple tasks at the same time. The results showed women’s brains are no more efficient at either of these activities than men’s.“

I don’t understand anything about what’s happening.. I was told often here before that I should block people who are rude to me or doing things that make me feel uncomfortable, but I did that so I’m being punished? There are people who go there and say they want me to be harmed, beaten or raped. To have my home address and have other information about myself shared online like it’s nothing… I’m seriously very much afraid, so much so that I can’t even go to my home and staying with my parents now. I think the people who can follow this person and send messages of encouragement are also very scary and evil people.

I’ve always kept quiet and never said rude things to anyone, despite the terrible messages that would come in every day on this website before I closed the message function. I’ve never been treated like this in any other gif sharing place I go to. Many sisters in my life told me not to interact with English speaking friends because if they find fault with you and make them angry, they’ll call you with misogyny like you’ve never seen before. “You will be attacked for being born a woman who dared to be happy” is what my gif Twitter friend told me.

I would like to keep posting gif here. Because gif here is a very different format from what I was used to, so I could be a little creative. By being here, I learned how to make subtitles in gif that I was able to present the entire scene of beautiful words for this place and my Korean gif sharing community.

There were people who were nice to me, and there were people I was happy when I saw their user ID interaction with my posts. It has an invisible link but I would like to believe that not everyone was waiting secretly for the opportunity to say that they hope for my rape and abuse. Likewise, I would like to believe that there are people who will not be friendly when someone agrees that I should be harmed.

I’d like to come in again for the Donbrothers this time and the time after until the end, but I’d like to say that I don’t want to interact with people who say terrible or disgusting things. Don’t force myself to endure it. I really don’t want to.

Even though I say I want to post again for the next episode, but I’m really so afraid, I might not have the strength to come in. My heart is so broken, all I can feel is betrayal and fear. It hurts so much. I don’t know if I can heal from this, so it’s best for me to remain with my family and stay away for a while so I can breathe again.

Women are raised to learn about historical figures who were “great men” who raped, beat, and at minimum held women as subservient.

Women are raised to learn about “incredible artists” who cheated, beat, or belittled women around them.

Women are raised to learn about “brilliant philosophers” who spoke of womens inferiority, referenced us as breeding stock, or altogether counted us out as animals.

Women are raised to learn about “genius minds” who stole from, degraded, or rose at the expense of women of their time.

Women are raised to learn about “influential authors” who wrote down about women, were pedophilic to girls, or abused their wives.

Having an abortion is no longer a crime under Colombian law, the country’s top court ruled on Monday, in a decision that paves the way for the procedure to become widely available across this historically conservative, Catholic country.

The ruling by Colombia’s Constitutional Court follows years of organizing by women across Latin America for greater protections and more rights, including access to abortion, and significant shifts in the region’s legal landscape.

Mexico’s Supreme Court decriminalized abortion in a similar decision in September and Argentina’s Congress legalized the procedure in late 2020. Colombia’s decision means that three of the four most populous countries in Latin America have now opened the door to more widespread access to abortion.

Like the average adult needs about 8 hours of sleep every night, so that cuts your 24 hours to 16 right off the bat.

You’re working for 8 hours, so 8 left.

But you actually work 8 to 5 at most offices, not 9 to 5, and that lunch is basically just long enough to retrieve food and eat. 7.

It took you 20 minutes to shower this morning, 10 to get dressed, and 45 to make a bowl of oatmeal and eat it. We’ll say 15 to get your stuff together and out to your car. 5 and a half.

You get home and have to cook dinner, 30 minutes min for that, probably more like an hour, so somewhere between 5 and 4.5 hrs left. And then you’ve got to eat it, 30 minutes if you’re being healthy about it.

So at best you’ve MAYBE got 4/4.5 hours left every week day and that’s assuming you ran exactly zero errands, didn’t stop by the gym after work, didn’t have to stay late, have a wicked fast transition time between tasks AND a commute of like 5 minutes by car. If you have to go to the store after a quick run at the gym, pick your kids up from soccer across town, and you factor in a 30 minute commute both ways, you’ve got enough free time for like one episode of show Monday through Friday. And weekends have got to be for cleaning the house and going to visit your mom for a few hours.

When do you write, or paint, or read or sew or go on hikes? When do you go on spur of the moment adventures with your wife and try to perfect your grandma’s soda bread? What happens when it rains on Saturday after being sunny all the rest of the week so you can’t go to the zoo that day and you don’t have enough money for the museum? Why are we all just content to postpone our whole lives, put off “happy” and “healthy” for a miniscule amount of extra value we’re producing for someone else?

And it’s also a thing that fascinates me about hustle culture like. When do y'all rest? When do sleep and food happen? How do you make 3 different jobs work without dying?
