Hello, guys! I wrote a fanfic on E33 in AO3 about Clea and Alicia after the events of Verso's ending. Every time I will post here the summary of the chapter and the links!

Okay, the title makes this sound all fancy and pretentious, but really all this is is a short analysis of the Dessendre family's character designs in the canvas (sans Clea, as I haven't found and fought her yet. As a matter of fact, I actually don't know if you ever fight the real Clea in the canvas or if it's just Painted Clea.) and an excuse to show off this really cool photo mode picture I took.

So, just as a primer/reminder, there are three colors of chroma we see used, which seem to correspond with the Painter who uses them: red for Renoir (and maybe the real Verso), white for Aline (and Clea), and gold for Maelle.

It's really interesting, then, that the only red in the Curator's design is the chroma billowing out from him; his design is primarily composed of white and gold—Aline and Maelle's chroma colors—as is his outfit as Real Renoir. Perhaps this is to show that despite actively going against them, he loves his family very much, and their safety is his primary motivation.

Whereas the Paintress sharing the Curator's color palette but with no sign of red could be an indicator of the fact she's acting without much consideration for her husband (you grieve your own way, let me grieve mine, etc).

And then the Real Maelle outfit being all black and white with no gold or red in sight shows visually that she's taking the role of her mother and choosing to forgo her life/identity as Alicia to stay in the canvas before any of that plays out on screen.

He stared down into their little one’s face—pale eyes huge, loving him unconditionally. And while, quite rationally, he understood the child was incapable of maliciousness or pettiness, he imagined he saw a flicker of baleful amusement in her expression. Yes, she’d howled. The moment he took Clea from her mother’s breast, she’d return to her protestations.

I will not be outlasted, old man, that look seemed to say.

Summary:

Their bland coexistence is tolerable. Sharing a bed with their backs to each other is tolerable. This? This is a direct confrontation with her present, past, and future, if she has one at all, with no quick exit and no privacy. Aline feels rather like she’s been thrown into deep water without any opportunity to ease her way in. She unfolds her napkin and places it on her lap. So be it. She can do her best to float for as long as it takes.

Visages as Verso’s preference to hide the truth but looses himself in his own theatrics.

Sirene as this beautiful muse that both inspires you and makes you go insane trying to reach her.

Reacher as this little hidden thing pulled down by other bullies while reaching the sky.

Then creates the Hauler and goes “well you see, my daughter, you’re doing too much, just let me get your mother and…”

Clea proceeds to send Simon to kill it in a barbaric way.

The Kuchiki clan has a naming tradition: each name contains a kanji representing a color.

白哉 — Byakuya, where «白» means white.

蒼純 — Sōjun, where «蒼» means blue-green (pale blue).
