Then fast forward, and my coworker in the cubicle next to mine have shared many in-depth convos regarding the Netflix adaptions of “Death Note” and “Cowboy Bebop” and “Bleach” and similar topics like it was nbd.

I’m still in that mindset a bit, as in I’ll only bring up my nerdier interests around someone if I already know they’re into that as well. That being said, nobody I know IRL knows I write fanfiction. That’s just for me, and at some point I wouldn’t mind revealing that aspect of myself. But still, it feels weird to even imagine bringing that up in casual conversations.

The amount of serotonin it gave me to watch this grandma react to her new galaxy light 🥺

Then the light blue/green makes me feel like I’m underwater, 11/10 love to imagine I’m drowning

And I friended a bunch of my friends and some strangers and posted some really dumb Facebook updates

And people started messaging me so I responded

And one person proposed to me

And then she blocked me so I made a status about it

The kid who had eaten the work went pale. The kids at his desk huddled around him for a whispered discussion about whether or not he should admit to what he’d done, or keep his mouth shut and hope he survived it. He eventually decided that he did not want to risk death, put up his hand, and very timidly informed the teacher of his little snack.

Problem: I can’t leave kudos again.

Beginner: This is a second/third/fourth Kudos

Advanced: This is my second/third/fortieth time reading this, I still love it so much. Here are a few new things I noticed. I like the way you personally do x, y, z compared to other authors I’ve read (in this ship/genre/fandom).

Problem: I don’t know what to say :(

Beginner: Just list what you did to read this fic. “I stayed up late reading this”, “I read this on a crowded train”, “this kept me company while sick”. 

Advanced: X,Y,Z parts made me get butterflies, and I had a physical reaction to this part of the story, I squealed outloud when characters did x,y,z. I blushed at this part. I laughed out loud here. Whatever. 

Problem: I’m embarrassed to leave a comment (what if I annoy the author?)

Beginner: Short answer: you won’t EVER annoy the author (unless you’re needlessly mean) But to start, be generic, you don’t have to spill your soul in the comments section. “I liked this” “I enjoyed reading this” “nice fic”.

Advanced: This really meant a lot to me that you wrote this. This is something I feel like I’ve always wanted to read. This fic hit me in all the right places. Etc. 

Problem: I don’t know how to express myself/my experience

This contrasts HILARIOUSLY to my Coming out story, in which my sister called a family meeting, talked about how much she loved all of us, came out as Asexual, and had a literal powerpoint presentation on what that was and how it effected her, and there was a lot of love and support and hugs all around and “Wow this describes your great uncle and two of your aunts to a T this proably runs in the family.” and all around really positive expirience.

then my dumb ass goes “Wait did I tell you guys I’m Bi or did I just imagine that conversation really hard?”

Sister: “NO YOU DID NO- ARE YOU PIGGYBACKING ON MY COMING OUT??”

Me: “Sorry lmao”

Sister: “ARE YOU KIDDING?  I’VE BEEN REHARSING THIS FOR MONTHS, I MADE A FUCKING POWER POINT!! AND YOU??  FORGOT???” 

Me: *laughing too hard to breathe now*
