Some pretty big Liu Kang x Sonya crumbs in this movie, even if they didn't intend on that (we'll likely still get Liutana and CageBlade).

I installed the paid Reshade plugin for The Sims 4. Actually, I'd installed it before, but at first I had no idea how to use it and it was just sitting there unused. So this time I bought it again and installed it.

Then I remembered that I could use it in MK as well, so I did some testing. I think it worked well enough to give the impression that the lighting has changed.

I tried it with the MK11 and it was really disappointing, and I was wondering why, but it was simply because the settings were wrong.

The MK1 has slightly different shading, and I tested it, and it's generally good. However, there was a lot of flickering, and after investigating why, it seems that upscaling was causing the problem. Turning off upscaling improved it, as you can see in the top screenshot.

It becomes slightly problematic again if the distance changes even a little, though.
