i really didn't want to finish this book. It's so beautifully written.

Can't wait till I find the next book in the Poldark series.

I've read 2 books in the last few months and the last one I completed reading yesterday!

I thought about reviewing each in detail (they were so good!) but I am just so tired from working so here's a summed-up review of each:

1. Silas Marner (George Eliot, 1861)

Unusual. The cover was green 💚 like Victorian arsenic which made me curious. Silas was lovable, Godfrey Cass was annoying and my favourite character was Eppie's godmother. And I love that there was a happy wedding at the end of the book. I did not enjoy Eliot's other work so this was a surprising read.

2. Little Women (Part 1???) (Louisa May Alcott, 1868)

Had a little Jane Austen-themed party with @sastarwarrior and then enjoyed the extraordinary 1995 adaptation of Sense and Sensibility.

I LOVE the 4:3 aspect ratio, the cinematography, the handheld camera work, the use of lighting AND the acting, the chemistry... don't get me started on the hand scene😑🤚... too good
