This Wilderness Years won't be like the first Wilderness Years because no company is ever letting their IP fall into the hands of fans who want to use the brand to write weird experimental books where Doctor Who characters say fuck ever again. There was a casualness about brand tie-ins where they were largely unobserved and not seen as pieces in a corporate synergy plan like they are now. Whatever Doctor Who content we get in the interim will still be looked over tightly by the BBC and might be even *more* restricted in what they can feature lest they step on any future plans

the crazy thing about doctor who is that it really is the best show ever for 30 seconds at a time. you never know when those 30 seconds will be. sometimes they happen multiple times in a single episode and sometimes you wait years and years and years. and the best part is those 30 seconds are surrounded by the worst show ever, which is also doctor who
