𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤, 𝐈’𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦, “𝚸𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐭”

I rewatched Heaven Sent and Hell Bent last night and I couldn’t help but be reminded of Hozier’s song Francesca, telling the tale of two lovers from Dante’s Inferno who were sent to the second circle of Hell (lust) for their deep devotion and love for one another, in which they proclaimed that they would go through all of the agony and torment over and over again just so they could be together, no matter how many times they were given the chance to change.

So they're standing at a train station in germany and the doctor just. randomly hops onto a train and leaves clara behind 😭 he yells something about where he's going and not to follow him but she has NO clue what he said so she screams after him bc hello?! and then another train pulls up with a giant 60 on it and she's like "well i guess we're doing this" and follows him anyway

And as soon as clara steps out of the train and doctor sees her she goes over to him and while he's like what the hell is she doing here she slaps THE HELL out of him for leaving without explaining😭 and he goes "clara🥺"

turns out they've accidentally gone to germany in like the 1920s/30s where everyone mistakes the doctor for some famous writer called viktor. there's literally a poster with his face on it. someone congratulates him on his work and he's just standing there like "...thank you?" 💀

then they find out viktor is engaged so the doctor IMMEDIATELY goes "yes this is my fiancée clara" and she's like 🤨 ...😌

then - when they're alone again - she goes "so...where's my ring then?"

HE'S ABOUT TO MAKE UP SOME EXCUSE, STOPS MID SENTENCE, PULLS OUT THE SONIC, DROPS TO ONE KNEE AND GOES "clara oswald..."

SHE'S JUST LIKE "OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD."

HE HAS AN ACTUAL DIAMOND RING.

😭😭😭

there was also a creepy book that suddenly had the doctor's life in it instead of viktor's, except the beginning of it was missing?? history starts rewriting itself. they dance to Pretty Woman??? a murder?? getting randomly kidnapped because they got TOO convincing as an engaged couple while the real couple hated each other bc apparently it was an arranged marriage?? i don't even know 😭

and then the dream ENDS with clara waking up next to the doctor. she tells him she had a dream.

he goes, still half asleep, "want to tell me about it?"

and she just smiles and says,

"we got married."
