There are two more characters that are significant to this universe when it comes to explaining the lucky eyes trait, Luma and Kimori. I'll get to them eventually as well.

For context of this universe, I have to tell you about what are believed to be 'lucky' or wish granting traits. Its actually a common misconception within the world that Eyes especially have a healing factor, the ability to provide luck or something similar. Its actually just because more eyes = better perception and thus the creature is able to avoid dangerous situations or catch onto things that they wouldn't have been able to otherwise ! Similarly to how people used to believe cats have 9 lives due to how agile they are.

Shaku themselves had started out with 5 eyes and their coat used to be a shining white color. While the ability to bring luck is not true, Shaku is actually able to travel between dreams and land. Think of it like how how Princess Luna in MLP is able to enter dreams to help others with their nightmares. Since they're able to do this, they became very well known and others looked to them for guidance and comfort when needed. Shaku was always happy to provide this to them, not asking for much in return other than a small treat every now and then. Even then, they would still go out of their way to help even if said person didn't have what they wanted.
