A notable rallying cry at the "United We Roll" protest in Ottawa.
A Conservative senator is facing criticism after he encouraged a crowd of protestors to “roll over every Liberal left in the country.”
Saskatchewan Sen. David Tkachuk made the comment while addressing a few hundred “United We Roll” protestors on Parliament Hill Tuesday. The senator said he was invited to speak by the Greater Ottawa Truckers Association, a municipal lobby group.
“I know you’ve rolled all the way here, and I’m going to ask you one more thing: I want you to roll over every Liberal left in the country,” Tkachuk told convoy-supporting protestors. Cheers erupted from the crowd.
“Because when they’re gone. These bills are gone,” he said, referring to Liberal government legislation proposing an oil tanker ban in northern British Columbia and another to rehaul the pipeline review process.

Y’all
There’s no such thing as “monosexual privilege” or “LG privilege”
There’s no such thing as “bi privilege”
There’s no such thing as “straight passing privilege”
There’s no such thing as “allosexual privilege”
There’s no such thing as butch or femme privilege
There’s no such thing as “binary privilege”
There’s no such thing as “‘afab’ privilege”
There’s no such thing as “monogamy privilege”
In fact, there are no real power dynamics and/or systemic levels of oppression that exist within the LGBT community on the inherent basis of different identities, aside from those that exist between cis and trans people.
uwu cite sources buddie because blaire white and every exclsionist seem to point towards this not being true
I’m gay and this means I have magic powers.
I can move things with my mind and yes, it is because I’m gay. I’m really sick of having to explain this.

if another straight person calls their boy/girlfriend their “partner” im going to scream
I see apologists for the Liberals have moved on from “Trudeau and the PMO have done nothing wrong in the Wilson-Raybould/SNC-Lavalin case!” from “Hey, they might be corrupt, but at least they’re on our team!”

For absolute free, you can vote NDP and get tolerance WITHOUT corruption! :D
It really, REALLY bothers me when I hear people frame climate change and other environmental crises as something that everyday, average-ass people are responsible for, and not corporations and entire governments.
Like literally, how can a regular-ass person ~opt out~ of all damaging behaviors while still being able to function in society?
You literally can’t.
The future of our planet is not down to whether or not someone recycles their water bottle.
It’s down to whether or not governments and corporations decide to quit sucking up all our resources and poisoning the earth with reckless abandon.
I mean obviously people should still live as cleanly and as sustainably as they can manage where they are and with what they have, but like. THAT isn’t the major issue.
govts and corporations have deliberately put the onus on yr individual choices so the system can continue being as destructive/profitable
God bless this post this pisses me off so much Also this hyper-individualist shift of responsibility is largely an American thing and consumerism is framed as a solution- e.g., buy more shit that’s sustainable! That’ll fix the problem (buy a new, green water bottle! buy a new, green car! buy a new, green whatever-the-fuck that’ll just ultimately produce more waste)!
I took a course in sustainable engineering.
The professor mentioned that even if every private individual in the world were to conserve resources and the environment the ol’ Jimmy Carter way- by turning down the thermostat, recycling your glass and plastics and metals, cut down on luxuries, take shorter showers, etc., it would only get us 10% of the way to where we need to be in order to avoid global catastrophic climate change.
The vast majority of freshwater use is from industry and agriculture. http://www.worldometers.info/water/
The vast majority of CO2 emissions is from industrial and electrical generation sites and associated vehicles. http://www3.epa.gov/climatechange/ghgemissions/gases/co2.html
Private individuals hardly make a dent, even in ideal conditions.
Thank you.
Extra important note for spoonies. Please don’t feel bad for needing disposable medical equipment, pill bottles, long showers, micro fiber blankets, packaged pre-made food, straws, paper plates etc. You’re not individually ruining the environment, you’re doing the best you can while taking care of yourself. The blame is on corporations.
And now this ridiculous straw ban nonsense. They FEEL like they’re accomplishing something so that’s all that matters. And they simply don’t care or don’t believe disabled voices.
The vast majority of plastics in the ocean are abandoned fishnets
tley, speaking in Calgary, attacked Kenney’s comments. “This ($15) minimum wage actually means a lot to these young workers,” she said.
Alberta’s Opposition leader says if his party wins power it will seriously consider reducing the minimum wage for youth and alcohol servers.
Jason Kenney of the United Conservative Party says that would help struggling eateries keep their doors open while allowing them to hire more people.
He says servers have told him that they would rather have the extra hours, given they can make far more in tips — about $30 an hour or more.
“I always talk to the servers (when dining out). And every single one I’ve talked to in the past two-plus years across this province says they would rather have extra hours than an extra buck-fifty as a base wage,” Kenney said Tuesday.

This is a violation of section 15 of the charter of rights, don’t let this happen.
This will harm vulnerable youth who are living independently and are working to keep a roof over their head while in school
Section 15:
Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability.
I used to manage bars and there is absolutely no way in HELL that actual bartenders told him they’d rather work longer for less than get paid more. They’re already working more hours than they can physically handle and the biggest complaint any of us ever had was the absolutely miserly wages we got paid for running around like headless chickens for 10+ hours a night with barely any chance for breaks.
If your only evidence that a bill, that was written to simply benefit the bourgeoisie, helps workers is an ANECDOTE you’re an IDIOT
remember when jared leto absolutely terrorized his suicide squad castmates and turned himself into a laughing stock bc he misinterpreted what method acting is, only to have 7 minutes of screen time and be cut from most of the film’s promotional material? i know it was a while ago now but i dnt think anything more satisfying will happen in our lifetime

Honestly I think one of the most empowering things you can do for yourself is to separate your negative qualities from your identity.
Instead of saying “I’m lazy,” saying “I’ve made a habit of not doing work unless it’s absolutely necessary.” Instead of saying “I’m a bad friend,” saying “I haven’t communicated as much as I should with the people I care about.”
By being specific about your problems, and by framing it as an action that you are consciously either working on or ignoring rather than an unchangeable part of who you are, you allow yourself to accept your mistakes and work constructively on them instead of pretending they didn’t happen or wallowing in blaming yourself.
Important
hi how would you (hypothetically) get through the last week or so of your thesis when you need to do thousands of words of writing, your anxiety is sky high, and your brain is basically made of mashed peas. Asking for a friend. (the friend is me, I’m your friend)
scream, drop out and sell my organs
*running down foggy street dodging monsters personified of my sins* aaaaa lol
you wouldn't make friends with them?
