the lighting in earl's court two is absolutely horrendous, but here are my obligatory cosplay selfies from this weekend's lfcc~

cersei was worn saturday and sunday morning, and was made entirely by me; anna was worn sunday afternoon with iconic legion, and was bought and owned by my elsa, pegsicle cosplay!

a bit of a photoset of cersei progress thus far! i'm pretty impressed, ngl~

the belt is made of layered craft foam —— probably still second best to worbla but needs must when the devil has a costume to finish for the weekend —— and weathered with gold, green and brown acrylics. i intend to make the chainmail sections, but unfortunately that isn't going to happen before the con, so i'll be lacing it with ribbon.

embroidery progress is at an all-time high, with all four sleeve pieces complete, and just the two bust swirls to detail and the back of the neck piece to finish. i've never embroidered before, so this is absolutely killing me, but it's looking so damn good.

i'm still on the look-out for one more ring for cersei's right hand, but i don't think i'll come across something accurate for a while, so will pull something from my stash. otherwise, the near-enough screen accurate pendant is looking fab!

the aim of today is to finish the dress completely, including facing, sleeves and hem, style my wig and do a make-up test, leaving tomorrow to attach the embroidery, finish up the belt and run final checks on the whole thing. i'm so excited to wear this!!

the latest in the cersei embroidery saga~!

this has taken me 40+ hours and it's still not finished - got a design for the back of the neck and the green and purple flowers to finish up on these ones, first.

hopefully will be completed over the weekend, giving me next week to construct the dress proper! this embroidery's all dressed up, with no gown to sit on...

I find it really interesting that the historical men like Vincent Van Gogh, Winston Churchill and Richard Nixon portrayed in Moffat Who are always three dimensional and treated respectfully, while the historical women like Elizabeth the First and Nefertiti, are always love sick idiots drooling over the Doctor.

It almost seems like Moffat cannot take women seriously, even if they ruled nations.
