This time I'll give Vriska a pass because I'm pretty sure this had to happen to move along the session. This is John, not dream John or any other type of John that I'm not aware of yet, so it's pretty gruesome. I'll say his windy god fit. It's kinda silly, but still cute nonetheless. 

Dave is also in a pretty gruesome situation. He's pondering killing himself.

At least John wasn't aware that he needed to physically die for the good tier. Dave has to stab a doomed sleeping version of himself and he deff seems reluctant to do it.

This gives place to the most interesting Dave-Terezi conversation yet.

Mr. Cool guy is really loosing his cool over the fragil existence of his off shoot time selfs and I live for it.

:] I still dont totally get Terezi's little explanation of the seer of mind but I guess it has to do with creating your own reality via your toughts and as the seer she can see all of the paths/ Variations that you could take.

We also see Vriska's ascension and it really is something. Really cool, the blood writhing and all, her good fit is also pretty goofy. I see the pattern. But I get why Vriska was the only one of the trolls to ascend. She has what it takes to manipulate even in her death bed. Queen behavior.

Meanwhile, she's just doing whatever.

Look at my silly chud daughter. She's so fashionable. I've seen old Jade cosplays in that fancy green dress, but never the black anime one, or the blue one. Not even Iron Lass. If you know someone that cosplayed those let me know lol. Also this happened

Aradia has died like four times already whyyyyy i cannot even imagine what shes plotting.

Doomed Dave also died. What the hell does abscond mean? I don't think I have mentioned this before, but English is not my first language, so I've been learning lots of words by reading this.

Not only is everyone blaming her for something that she didn't do, but i find it extremely sad that out of all the kids, Jade is the only that cant talk with her sprite, and its her best friend in the world too!

Also, the ominous green sun is related to Jade now maybe it has something to do with her wicked space-traveling powers ig?

All of her things are gone, shes having terrible dreams and migraines, and she's like a whole quest behind her friends. But Future Dave is here to help.

Meanwhile, Past/Present Dave and Rose catch up on the eldritch beings pleading for help. Not only is the universe at risk, but the whole fabric of reality is resting on this thirteen-year-old kids, let's raise the stakes, yahoo!!

These beings have to teach Dave how to navigate timespace so that he can make a map towards the green sun. Then Dream Rose will use that map and go to the green sun. All of this if John manages to remove the cancer out of Skaia, AKA the tumor.

I'll say that it is kinda crazy the sessions are programmed to destroy if they're doom sessions. I really want to know more about the game itself.

Everyone is worrying about Rose's sacrifice, aw.

Dave and Rose really act like siblings here. I'll say that i dont think there will be a serius main character death that cannot be reversible by some mean, but I still dont want her to die so lets hope it really is just a dreamself death.

Kanaya is also trying her best to persuade Rose out of the dream death, and Rose is really trying her best to save all of her friends of this doomed session.

I also wonder what Rose's original purpose as the seer really is. If the session wasn't doomed, of course.

Now this is the thing that shocked me the most while reading: it's not that Tavros (along with Karkat) has a thing for Jade, because apparently the norm is that there has to be at least one type of romance in every character interaction, but that Tavros KILLED Jade's Grampa.

Like???????? Her whole life she thought Grampa Harley KILLED HIMSELF. Imagine being a little girl alone on an island; your only family is your grandpa, and when he dies, you come to understand that it might have been a suicide????. HOW is Jade so nice and sweet while growing up like that?

Not only that, it happened because Tavros was trying to control Bec. Yeah, it was to save Jade from a deadly gunshot, but the whole picture is that Tavros controlled Jade's best friend, and as a result, her grandpa died. It's really fucked up. AT LEAST he's asking her for permission to control bec this time. The worst thing might be that he did it to insert himself as a hero in Jade's life (Vriska behavior). Mind you, she learned all this while already being in a bad mood and in a really awkward conversation, and she still stays cordial towards him.

CRAZY lol.

I just felt really sad reading this.

Hey Vriska is here too, to make it all worse. She trashes Tavros, debatably deserved this time, and also Jade, totally undeserved. I guess Vriska is the one that gave Jade narcolepsy. Another crime to her list. I'm sorry, but Vriska cannot believe she's all that while having a crush on Nicolas Cage; that's Egbert Level. Do better girl.

While John is prototyping Jade's kernelsprite, Vriska mind controlls him to fall asleep wich fucks everything up big time. Bec gets in the way and is prototyped, and hes apparently a ancient guardian/dog- crature beyond our comprehension? HOW did he became Jade's pet.

This all causes Jack to get prototype and gain Bec powers (essentially become unbeatable AND a furry) mid fight with Bro and Davesprite. Since Bec powers are related to time-space a time rapture(?) occurs and this Jack gets to the trolls game, so he was the reason that they didnt obtain the real final prize/ending. Aradia, my lovely daughter saves all the trolls teleporting them to that asteroid floting in space. Oh and Jade finally entered the game.

A LOT to unpack here. WHY is Vriska doing this? Because she wants to insert herself as both the villain and hero. She the cause and she wants to be the cure. Wich i cannot stress, its super interesting, I cannot tell or even speculate yet on why Vriska is compelled to do this. My surface level reading of this is that she wants to be key for all of it(Main character AND villain syndrome???)and to a point she already is. All of this is happening because of her. Is she doing it out of narcissism? out of overcompensation? BOTH?? Theres also the posibility that this is one of "It was me all along" moment when a another big bad guy shows up, making Vriska more like a pawn, i'm intrigued.

On the other hand, BRO DIED??? He died fighting Jack wich i'm reading as him triying to intervene ¿For what motive? only Cal knows. Protecting Dave/The kids might seem a stretch, he wasnt the best caregiver but I do feel that all of the kids guardians care about them, even if theyre no the best at it. Not you Dadbert, i see you, you're great. Grandpa Harley you are dead, you get a negligence pass. Mom Lalonde, Bro... I need to know more to make my judgement. Since Bro was actually doing something, I hope we get to know what the other guardians are up to, i refuse to belive Dadbert and Momlalonde are just chilling on Skaia, drinking and flirting. Seems plausible tough.

I wanna make a little tangent about the art, since theres been a style change. I'm not familiar with the other works of Hussie so idk if this is their regular artstyle or what. But just a simple analysis, the more detail drawing used in some of the flashes might indicate a more serious/dark arc for the story, not that it didnt had dark or serious moments before, but the stakes just got a lot higher now that they have an unbeatable boss and they need to start grinding those ranks and powers. If im totally wrong and this is just a style variant / change without narrative bearing, laugh at me for reading to much into this. Look at my chud kids.

Jade is finally back!! I missed her a lot, and she missed a lot of things. Rose and Dave literally lived a whole timeline without her; she's probably the first victim of the fear of missing out. Speaking of Rose and Dave, they seem to be doing a lot of things right now, while John is kind of just dilly dallying around while his planet is burning down lol. Especially Rose, she's moving the whole thing along, She's knowledgeable AF and now has a magic crystal ball, perfect to alert silly John that his planet is on fire, lovely.

It's so interesting seeing how knowledge and the future change the characters demeanors in subtle ways. As the seer, it makes sense for Rose to know more than the other kids; she's had this eloquent and sarcastic thing about her that almost feels like a wall around her true feelings yet, i feel the more she'll know and the higher the stakes get, that wall will start to crumble. Knowledge is a burden after all.

Imagine being thirteen and experience cosmic and existential horrors beyond comprehension of your new reality in a doomed universe on top of your regular teen troubles.

But heres something that i really love about HS, apart from being extremely self aware through the meta narrative and the characters themselves.

The characters compensate it by being just plain sweet to each other, things like this make the relationships believable and it makes you care about them, thats so awesome.

I really miss the pesterlogs between the kids especially when they spend long stretches without talking with each other.

I was under the impresion that Karkat and Dave did nothing as much as to acknowledge eachother existence in the og story, so the basis of Davekat beyond the epilogues (wich im not even close to getting to) were non existent to me. But rn im seeing it, Karkat is going to pester Dave and, if ive learn anything reading this, is that if a troll is gonna cross words with someone else, theres a potencial basis for any type of ship. So yeah, I deffenetivle wanna know the type of chemistry Mr. Cool Dude and Mr. Uppercase Maniac are going to produce.

Well actually not! Karkat is pestering everyone, the Davekat mistery continues for me.

Instead of that we get something arguably better. Vriska is not only hitting it off with John, shes hitting it off with the one and only NICOLAS CAGE, wich atp i just see as a narrative extension of the one and only JOHN EGBERT. Oh and its now my headcanon that all trolls get this stupid ass look on their faces when they get a crush.

And now, Vriska and Terezi are using John and Dave respectvly as their pawns in mental hypercompetitive murderous chess. Nice. The absolute gold of a memo between Karkat, John and Dave not only explains this but goes into great detail into all the shipping nonsense going on atm.

Like, Karkat is noticing.

But he's fighting a losing battle against the og Ragebaiter.

And John over here who is literally just a lil boy.

The craziest thing to me is that out of pure desperation and probably shame of being rejected by John, Karkat starts to pair John and Dave with Rose and Jade, and theyre so off put by it, its comical. Obviusly as they share, in John's words, ghost slime genes the only viable couples are John x Rose and Dave x Jade. You can tell that the tought of romantical feeling for Rose have never crossed John's mind whatsoever like, thats his oomf.

Finished act 5 act 1 and now we are back to the beta kids, yay. I really missed them. So the trolls actually finished the game and created a universe, that was the reward. Yet they failed in achiving what im guessing is the good/ true ending thanks to Jack Noir . So they only got AN ending and thats why theyre contacting the kids trough time and space. Obviusly in overly convoluted methods, this is homestuck.

Appart from this the greatest reveal at the moment happened. Karkat has a hate crush on Egbert, and he was rejected in the most chill yet humilliating way possible. LMAO poor Karkat.

Kanaya and Rose finally catched up with eachother time wise and now i can imagine a hundred scenarios of them playing dress up IF Rose doesnt get killed by whatever makes her timeline ominously end. Also this Rose hype and aura moment.

I must say Dave's planet and powers are the coolest by far imo. Lohac, The land of heat and clockwork?? cmon. And we all know how much angts time travel powers carry. Cant wait for Dave to start questioning the valeou of his life and the meaning of it yay. Also, him and Terezi?? Great pair. The fucking dance party gifs had me diying.

Now onto more...concerning matters...John and Vriska.

After she interrumped what coulda been the cutest father child reunion she starts trolling John and I just get this vibe???? I hope im not insane but theyre being kinda cute idk.

Well apparently not really, his dream self is alive. I kinda totally forgot about that. Feferi woke him up with a kiss, straight out of a fairytale. The fishy princess and the sleeping troll. To Karkat this probably was like a car crash on fire. The world just ended, your friend died and now some chick is kissing his dead body. Also, Hussie is here, freshly out of the sharpie bath and breaking the obliterated fourth wall.

Back to Sollux. he's on the purple moon, using his second life, but because he's great and special, he has two dreamselfs plus what seems to me quite the op powers. He's now the Mage of Doom (how sick is that) and he just goes back to his planet to met Fef who is now the Witch of Life. So this pretty much confirms that Jade is coming back ( i mean, obviusly but whatever).

Now we are back to Vriska and Tavros and they're in a Donkey Kong level like planet lol. But nevermind, we are with Terezi now, seer of mind. They're all getting cool titles. Even tough ive declared myself a Equius hater on this reviews, i must say that his meeting with Nepeta was really cute. And Karkat named the team adorabloodthirsty? cmon.

They basically are in a mobius strip so thats a quick and easy explanation for all of the time paradoxes (not really) I enjoyed current Kanaya and future Karkat chat over the memo. Even tough Karkat appears to be in a constant state of desperation and exaltation with himself and his fellow trolls hes quite sensible and straightfoward, all the trolls must be reliying their relationships conundroms to karkat for those reasons, and with Kanayas calm demeneor they balance eachother quite well in this conversation.

And after another great conversation between Karkat and Terezi theres a flash animation finally!! i missed those and lots of things happen in this one.

We get to see how Vriska made Terezi paid after the magical white ball exploded in her face. She mind controled Tavros to mind control Terezi's Lusus (Talk about convoluted, she wasnt letting that slide) and guide her to the forest where, something happened?? I don't get what actually happened to her, it looked like some kind of fireball or something blinded her. Then we get a montage of all the trolls fighting on their planets, theyre all in duos, well Eridan is fighting Sollux whos teamed up with Feferi, luser beheavior. So theyre all in teamed up with someone except for Gamzee and Aradia, wich i find notable, maybe they're together but i cant really say becaous Aradia was clearly occupied wreacking Vriskas shit Dragon Ball style.

Absolutly brutal and i'm not saying that this wasnt coming for her but Aradia was not playing around, I think Vriska fucking died tasting the Arabot fist and awekened her dream self.

It's time.

So Kanaya's green blood isn't just green, it's jade green. So that answers my question of why she had the Virgin Mother Grub as her guardian. Also, that makes her fundamentally different from the other trolls, wonder if Karkat red blood makes him any special?. Her house lowkey reminded me of Rose's planet and Jade's bedroom. Her interest in fashion, two shade lipstick and chainsaw are all great.

It's trough her that the pisces and aquarius trolls make their appearence, and more importantly imo we get the troll romance exposition. To be honest i saw that one image of the Icarly characters on the quadrant and i just got it. I feel like the quadrant romance thingy is a really creative way of mediate shipping wars in a fandom but I bet it doesn't actually works in practice.

Great news for me when Mom Lalonde and Dadbert where the example for the matesprites lol. Awful news when Vriska kissed Tavros. The devastation on Kanaya's face when she realized why Vriska asked her for a dress, i'm expecting soooo much drama and thats totally what i'm getting. Im going back and forth on Nepeta's shipping wall and why is she a Equius and Aradia shipper??? shes destroying my arasol soul...appearntly she also has a thing for karkat wich is kinda cute. I like Nepeta even if shes not free of the meowrallegiance. RN im gonna say that im a Vrisrezi and Arasol truther. Lets see how that changes lol.

Poor sweet Kanaya. Being the auspistice for Vriska...free my girl.

Also Eridan and his his whole nice guy shtick towards Feferi lmao. Her dumping their moirallegiance because he cant be a genocidal prick anymore. Getting al serius and even dropping the typing quirks to just dump him i didnt even think dropping the quirks was possible.

I have a question tough, if trolls dont really care about fashion, whats the deal with them definitively caring about it? Yeah Kanaya might be a special case but what about Vriska asking for a special wendy/ tinkerbell adjacent costume, Gamzee's juggalo make up, Fef and Eridan's jewlery?? even Sollux's miss matched shoes and eyeglasses.Yeah it might just be character design decisions more than fashion statements.
